Hard to believe this was 20 years ago

I don't feel people give Federer enough credit for his return game...in particular against Roddick. I mean if you think it's easy to neutralize First and Second serve's that are coming at you from Andy Roddick with his level of pace...you know nothing about tennis....

It is amazing how after over 20 years we still only have the first two sets in hd. Clearly the third set exists in hd and yet...

Federer has always made it look easy but the difference between prime fed and old fed is that prime fed almost looked bored where as old fed was engaged. Must have been so demoralising losing point after point to someone who looks like they dont even want to be there

Federer's natural game matches up so well against Roddick's to the point that it takes extra investment in tactics from Roddick's side and Roger having lapses in his concentration for extended periods in order for Roddick to win (Miami 2012) or for the match to be really close (Wim 2009). The fact that Federer's natural game matches up well against Roddick's is so starkly obvious that it makes any tactical concerns to be an afterthought for Roger. Case in point: Australian Open 2007. You don't need tactics if every ball you hit just become winners.
