"Fame kills." Manager Shep Gordon, (Alice Cooper and others) talks about his life and losses.
Generally unseen and enlightening interview with rock manager and entrepreneur Shep Gordon. Interviewed by a friend; Always a good interview subject, this is probably the most revealing and entertaining interview anyone did with him.
He also discusses Anthony Bourdain, (this interview was conducted before Bourdain died), who'd commissioned him to write a book discussing "what fame will do to the chefs". He then goes on to talk about how the pressure of fame can kill.
He discusses his past, which included knowing and experiencing the deaths of many friends, including Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and dealing drugs for a short period. And his views and his philosophy over the course of his life.
Over the years his client list included Groucho Marx, Pink Floyd, The Pointer Sisters, Raquel Welch, Luther Vandross, Squeeze, Frankie Valli, George Clinton, Michelle Shocked, Blondie, Sarah Miles, and Alice Cooper.

First of all, so-called "Richard Burton" was not his real name. I think it's a disgrace and shows complete disrespect of one's heritage to change their birth name, unless when a woman gets married. If a woman gets married and DOESN'T change her last name, that shows no respect to her husband. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the name "Richard Walter Jenkins Jr"! The change was probably made as a result of pressure from a greedy Business Manager and or Studio, with respect to perceived anticipation of greater recognition and subsequent monetary gain?!

Even in 1977 he was still getting asked the same boring question about wasting his talent by not spending enough time on stage. I’m surprised he even gave it his consideration.

In the CUT page using the source clip when I click on an image and using SMART INSERT it places picture in the timeline where I want however the picture stays in the timeline longer that I want. In other words I love inserting pictures with the smart insert in to my videos but want to alter the amount of time they are in timeline. Wondering if you might know. Thank You.
