I'm disappointed that they dropped the traveler on this boat. That was a major advantage that Catalina enjoyed over the European competition. Is it even an option?

why is this video so jerky? it feels like they postprocessed to remove any gaps with silence, even between words. painful to watch.

When in doubt launch an entirely new product line absolutely seems crazy competent would need a sailing youtube channel like Sailing Uma to validate my first thought is has everything and then some but really *"busy"* if that makes sense. Swept back spreader rigs are popular the world over. Virtually all sailboat builders still use backstays however. Nonetheless Hunter was successful with their B&R back stayless sail plan. Thanks for watching our videos. Hope you will subscribe and watch lots more of our videos.

After all the grief Hunter has taken for their swept spreader/zero backstay rigs, it's surprising to see Catalina adopt the same layout.

Loose the music and actually describe the vessel instead of the viewer having to read about the features.

I would like to see a "guard" over the electronic switches in the cockpit locker so they aren't inadvertently switched.

I hung around an early 2000s Catalina 36, and I can see some of the great areas of improvement. This boat looks designed for the low end charter market. If I was to buy one, the only two things I'd change is the furling mast, and the einge instruments on the starboard side of the cockpit. Other than that, looks very nice with so much storage, and the location of the propane tanks. Thanks for the show.

The Catalina 355 in this video is a 2023. The 355 has been upgraded to the new 2025 Catalina 356.

Love how Catalina thinks of the little things, like sealing the edges of woodwork. Probably one of the best functional 40' boats out there for coastal/blue water sailing - certainly better quality than a Bene or Jeanneau. Kudos.
