Building an Electric Boat Ramp Lift for Heavy boat
Переглядів 2,4 тис.9 місяців тому
I tried to build a boat ramp with an electric winch this summer for my friends Seadoo boat. The boat was too heavy for the wheels so I had to scrap the project but here is my attempt at making one! If the wheels were rated for bigger boat weights and my angle of the ramp was better installed, this could have worked pretty well! 0:00 intro 0:23 Building boat ramp 0:57 fixing the boat ramp 2:18 t...

The retrofit Piston and rings for this Cart is a Kawasaki 300 4wheeler if I remember Correctly.. Piston and pin fit like a Glove.. Piston height was to tall and I buffed the top off to the Correct height on my Buddy's Cylinder Head surfacing belt.. Cranked right up and Ran Great.. There are Forums on the Suzuki motor that discuss this
I am interested in the plans and breakdown of materials for building
Hey Tom I got a question what size belt is ur Hyundai golf cart. I keep calling around where I live and nobody can’t get me the drive belt size
Amazing! Thanks for sharing❤
I want to build one of these that can hold 50-60 people I also want a bar in the center.. can I have the details on how to build the raft
Very nice project. Congrats
Sup man, i have an identical outboard and I’m having some troubles with finding parts. So I have two questions. 1 where did you find the blue print for it? And 2 where did you find those spark plugs? Loved the video btw 👍😁
What do you think about replacing the barrels with plastic bottles?
I would advise against that. Main reason is that it could deteriorate faster and make a larger mess. 55 gallon drums are much better and you don’t need to use as much
@@tom_sassen thanks for the tip!
Robot voice, just talk yourself dude you want to let oil out and not have it to the top, water has less chance of getting into the lower unit when the oil is barley full
Great video! Can you provide a materials list?
Sure, 2x8 + 2x6 + 1x6,
Hope you guys enjoy the new video!
Thanks for doing this video. Too many people sit on their couch and comment but they never actually do anything
Thanks for watching 💪
Hey I know I am a year late but do you have a owner manual on this golf cart? I have the same golf cart but no owner manual
I don’t, I couldn’t find one online either
Thanks for your video… mind posting the part number to the rebuilt kit used.
Thanks for watching! I don’t remember the part number but I’m pretty sure I show it somewhere in the videos
I’m thinking of using the same plastic barrels, but I’m going to fill them with closed cell floatation foam before sealing them up, to prevent them from collapsing in, or losing buoyancy if they get punctured by anything. I’d like to know more about how you connected them to the barge, to hold them in place.
I use a mix of gravity, rope and galvanized strapping. I would suggest sealing your barrels at a colder temperature so that they prevent from collapsing. Foam can leak out and I find is not necessary
@@tom_sassen That’s an odd reply, since the foam turns into a solid waterproof material after just a few minutes. Once it’s dry and solid, it can’t leak anywhere and the plastic barrel is just a protective layer at that point. We must be thinking of two different materials.
foam is not really necessary, but if you want a backup plan, consider filling the barrel with empty sealed plastic water bottles. Lighter, and will never get waterlogged.
You're making a too complicated
You should see my pontoon boat lot simpler
I’ll have to check it out
Hey Tom, can I get this design from you. Thank You
Awesome! Have a good one
@@tom_sassen Thank you Tom, I'm Savin from Indonesia. I'm planning glamping On a boat. I find your design very interesting if I put a tent on it.
Not allowed on Ga public lakes
That’s too bad
What can a man achieve just tooling around in his garage? The sky's the limit really.
Haha that’s true!
Hello, what is the maximum speed of this engine? Regards
Depends on the size of the boat. Probably like 20-30km|h
Pretty cool and good work I’m a welder and I have a job making boat lift and I wanted to see what it is and what it do
Cheers thank you
Loved it!
Thanks!
Gear oil correct, the engine oil im asking for .
No engine oil? It’s a 2stroke, I mix it with my gas
Hi , how can be without oil ?, is an crangshaft turning the pistons . 2 pcs ,I understand that using use oil to lubricate on burning but rotation of the pistons is done by an crangshaft this must have oil. The oil for the gear is clear ,oil 2T on fuel is ok ,,how is possible without motor oil,, . Can someone push me on that video to clarify the situation ?Thanks
Great job! I have same issue on carburetor so need parts. where did you order the parts? Thanks for sharing
I believe off Amazon!
Hi . Nice job ❤, I have get this motor and a can't see any video of this engine about to change the motor oil exactly on this engine .Thanks a lot for amy info.
No problemo
I just fixed the same one I had carburetor problems cleaned it up new impeller working great now.
Nice!
Do you have a manual by chance for this motor ? @@tom_sassen
I just got the same engine and I haven’t gone through it yet. I plan to this week but the person that sold it to me said they were having trouble getting it started but when they did, it would run OK but then bog out they said that they were having to spray gas into the carb throat so they assume That it’s a carb float hopefully in the next week or so I’ll get it taken apart great video btw
It could be your fuel pump to more them likely if you put in a new carburetor kit..
I’m working on a 20HP now and it’s really giving me issues
Nice!
Nice job
Thank you
I actually made one of these a few years ago using a piece of 1 5/8" unistrut channel. Everything will just bolt to it without welding or drilling and it has a painted finish.
Nice!
Nice going !!!! the only problem is the height of snow in some windy turns....... shovel is a solution......... LoooL
Gotta get tracks lol
i love ur videos
Thank you
Could these still float if incased in concrete/cement instead of wood?
It depends, I don’t think it would float too well since they can only displace 450 ibs of water
@@tom_sassen what if I also packed said concrete with lots and lots of sealed empty water bottles?
Post the build plans😩
gasket number 6 and number 21 are needed as well as 20. if you look at the bottom center they have two nipples kinda. these actually help pump fuel into and stop fuel from backing out. ther number twenty is a pass through without the flappers. there are manuals online or find a merc or clymer manual. if the gaskets were there before thewn they need to stay there.
Yep! It pumps properly that way
Sorry WERE they expensive?
Did your casters rust or not spin as easy after a year or so? Where they expensive?
Nope! I got some cheap ones from Canadian tire and they seem to have held up two years later, even the ones submerged underwater are still good, must be stainless or aluminum
@@tom_sassen Thanks a lot!
Nice bottle opener. Haha.
We always wonder why people do not put a diverter on the rear? Have they never seen a canoe or kayak? Do they not understand drag?
I’ve never thought of that but that’s a very good point! That’s something that should be considered for sure, it would be cool to put a 3d model in a water simulator to see the difference with and without for drag.
You could fill them with mix and pour urethane foam for water proofing.
I could! I would probably need to Fiberglas them though too
When i saw this vid it reminded me of this story. ua-cam.com/video/6bX6as944uo/v-deo.htmlsi=-B2Xrt8qD7Nb-xz1
Too much talkin'
Lol agreed
We don't need to see your face, just show us the work you did
What else can be used besides barrels that are already pressurized
why did you remove it?
It wasn’t built correctly and I found it didn’t look right. If it was better built I would have kept it
Once you've cut them in half, I'd just plastic weld a flat piece on the open end and make it waterproof, the boat will be faster and have a larger capacity. Those open diverters just fill up with water.
that's a good idea if you have access to a plastic welder!
Snow the strapping that’s important!!!!
I’m making a new video on how to do it!
❤
NEW barge video coming soon!
Don't quit your day job
What?😂
If there's enough interest I could remake this out of aluminum. I can also sell them too if you guys are interested. Let me know!
Maybe some more wheels at the end, along with some more extruded aluminum frame pieces would have helped.
That would’ve helped! I think the frame should have been all metal. And the wheels should’ve been stronger
