Ba Trieu (225-248 CE): Also known as Trieu Thi Trinh, Ba Trieu was a fierce warrior who left an indelible mark on Vietnamese history. Born near the Nua Mountains in Cuu Chan (now Thanh Hoa Province), her childhood was marked by adversity and a desire to be stronger and more independent than her peers. Orphaned at a young age, she grew up during a time when Vietnam was under intense Chinese suppression. Driven by a deep sense of vengeance, she took refuge in a mountain forest, honing her combat skills and gathering loyal followers. Ba Trieu rode into battle astride a white elephant, slaying soldiers and defying gender stereotypes. Legend has it that she tamed a fierce wild elephant and used it as her steed. Trung Sisters (c. 14 - c. 43 CE): The Trung sisters, Hai Bà Trưng, were Vietnamese military leaders who rebelled against the first Chinese domination of Vietnam in AD 40. They ruled for three years, fiercely defending their land. Born in the village of Me Linh, their mother, Ba Man Thien, instilled in them a spirit of patriotism and love for military art. They were taught to be strong and independent. These two extraordinary women, Ba Trieu and the Trung sisters, continue to inspire generations with their bravery and unwavering commitment to their homeland.

Hoa Co Mua Xuan is a traditional Vietnamese dance that translates to "Flower Dance of Spring" in English. This dance is often performed during the Vietnamese New Year, known as Tet, which typically falls in late January or early February. The dance is typically characterized by graceful movements and vibrant costumes, often incorporating props such as fans, ribbons, or flower baskets. It symbolizes the arrival of spring, renewal, and the blossoming of new life. The dancers often depict the beauty and vitality of nature as it awakens from winter, with movements that mimic the swaying of flowers in the breeze or the fluttering of butterflies In Vietnamese culture, Tet is a time of celebration and renewal, where people gather with family and friends to welcome the new year with hope and optimism. The Hoa Co Mua Xuan dance embodies these sentiments, serving as a joyful expression of the anticipation and excitement for the coming of spring and all the possibilities it brings. This is one of the best I have seen from a young group of Vietnamese communities. Congratulations to your well-done and the best performance!

The hoa Mai, also known as the apricot blossom, holds great significance during Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. Its vibrant yellow hue symbolizes luck, happiness, and joy. As winter fades and the trees remain bare, the Hoa Mai blooms, bringing hope and prosperity to homes and businesses across Vietnam . In Vietnamese culture, this beautiful flower is believed to banish ghosts throughout the year during Tet. Legend has it that a kind and brave girl fought a monster to protect her village. Although she tragically lost her life, every New Year, she is revived for nine days to visit her family and village. When her parents passed away, she transformed into a flowering tree, and her bright yellow blossoms now grace the landscape like the shirt she once wore. That tree is none other than the Ochna integerrima, affectionately known as Hoa Mai . So, when you see the golden Hoa Mai adorning homes and streets during Tet, remember its rich symbolism and the tale of bravery and renewal it carries. Your dance performance is not so wonderful but very meaningful. Thank you!
