Its close decision but Habs definitely won the trade for 2 reasons: 1) You can only count Subban's points when he played for Nashville. It makes no sense to include his points for New Jersey when PK was essentially a salary dump by Predators as they didn't want to pay him the big bucks and gave him away to NJ for nothing. Weber actually had more points and more goals and played more games with Montreal than Subban did for Nashville 2) Weber was far better defensively than Subban ever was and its not even close from this defense perspective. .I like PK when he was with the Habs and I was upset when the trade was made but now in retrospect, I think Habs won this trade in a close decision.

Get used to what uve seen already, we have no goal scorers, Caufield, and Suzuki, but that's about it, for consistency. I know Dach can put the puck in the net, and so can Anderson, but not on a consistent basis, id be super happy if they could both reach 20 goals. That's why it's taking 2 years to find someone to play with Nick and Cole, we have no one else good enough. I know a lot would argue or disagree, but we will see when January comes, where we are in the standings. (Imagine having Matvei Michkov to fill in that spot? But we got reinbacher tho, just as good..., that's sarcasm, i dont doubt that reinbacher will be a fine defenseman, my problem is that we didnt NEED defensemen, we NEED goal scoring, and Matvei Michkov, and Ryan Leonard would have made MUCH more sense). Sure he's the best defenseman that was avaulable but he is a defensifve defensemab which is a problen for the GABS. It was one of the vest offebsuce draft in the decade and some very elite offensive prospects like Nishkov and Lennard were availablem Montreal goyrtons of excellent defensive prosprcts in their farn team and Reinvacher isn't even the best d-man in the HABS. Minntreal offense is miserable and since he is not an offensive d-man he os NOT the best pick. Montrewl should have went with Niahkov ot Lennwrd wgi are going to be wlit3 forwweew, rgese ron't come eqwy wnd can transform a tewm lok3 the HABS. A mussed ipportunity for sure.

Zegras would imo, be a great fit. Some people mistake his arrogance for flash. hate to say this as it's a very touchy subject, but We would need to give up a very solid package. 5 draft picks as per hostile rfa bid? no.... Slafkovky+.. Love the kid, but it will take him a few years to maybe, get to full potential. I honestly, don't like the fact that his reaction time is very slow that will likely result in very few goals scored from one timers, net scrambles etc... down the road.. He might overcome these issues, maybe, But as is, I don't see him as anywhere near an elite goal scorer. The traits just aren't there. And as for the power part, I haven't seen him push anyone around per say yet. Having said that, It would give us the chance to shed some bad salary in the process ( Armia?) The + would obviously be added draft picks and prospects, but Slaf would certainly cover a good chunk of the asking price, and I see Zegras as a much better fit, that could possibly help shorten the rebuild schedule a little.

Not for any price, we can trade for 1st or one of (Dvorak, Gallagher, Monahan, Barron, Beck). Never trade Guhle, Hutson. Guhle > Zegras, Hutson > Zegras.
