Cornish copper mine, through trip...
Today we are down near the coast exploring a well visited copper mine.
There are several ways in, but today we have gone in through the middle adit and leave via the main ladder way
It's a well preserved mine as it was the CSM main training area, but it has a bit of everything, shafts, winzes, stoping, timbering and a huge incline tramway....
Enjoy

Mine wagon stuck in time...
Переглядів 1,6 тис.День тому
Just a quick one to look at a now famous mine wagon stuck on its rails hanging out of the cliff side on a Cornish beach, the cliff has nearly buried it as the adit has collapsed around it, but nice to see all the same!

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who has followed the channel, it's not been the busiest of years for exploring as I've had some other stuff to deal with! However we are planning a full on 2025 so hopefully lots of content coming.... This one was just a walk to a fairly forgotten little mine, as you can see not often visited! Always worth a look as you never know what you might find! Happy Ch...

Back again after a bit of a gap in videos, apologies been flat out with work! Today we having a bit of a walk to find a well hidden lead mine, well off the beaten track, so I'm glad we had a guide to show us the way (thanks to Victoria) We new it had a winze to get over but no details past that! So armed with rope and bolts we went in... Enjoy.
Possible adit find, needs a JCB!

Today I'm having a look at a long cutting in the middle of a farmers field that is definitely man made, it has sloping sides and a flat bottom so could have been a tram way! It's seriously overgrown so it was hard work even having a look!
Caving in North Yorkshire, my first cave!

Today we on a club trip up in north Yorkshire going down into a deep underground river system, bit of a tight squeeze to get down and in but the rest of it was easy to navigate with some amazing natural formations...
Into the valley ... short adit find
Переглядів 763 місяці тому
Just a quick look into a deep shaft that we are looking to drop in the near future, the top has a 'Witches hat' cap on it and is about 100 ft higher so this way would be easier though it needs bolting for roping. Cheers
new ground found in our favourite tin mine

Back in our favourite Cornish tin mine, We hadn't been past the winze as the old timber had completely rotted out so I gathered a couple of old scaffold bars to make a new bridge which has enabled us to continue further on ..

Small adit find down near Porthtowan in Cornwall
theres a few maps of the adit at kresen kernow, i dont think it goes much further than the last winse, 25 meters perhaps
@@kernowbysvyken5600 no it doesn't comes to a abrupt end round the corner!
is that corner 20 meters away? should end under this point: maps.app.goo.gl/khjmQPTMUDtqHGFx9
@wookiesundergroundadventures is the corner 20 meters away? The end should be directly under the hedge at the top of the hill
That's cool😎
this is amazing, few years ago i used to do a lot of caving in north wales such an amazing hobby but can be scary at times! I prefer to film above ground now haha. were subscribed now and cant wait to see more
Just incredible 🤩
Wow 🤩
Great video if played on mute
Thanks, unfortunately the council have now blocked that entrance so there is no access to the adit, you can still get down the shaft at Bread n cheese with rope access...
Went in there myself back in 2016. There used to be a geocache just behind that low wall before the shaft, but it's gone now as I believe the portal is gated up. Thanks for sharing this - good to remember that trip.
Did you get over to that shaft we looked at?
No not yet, didn't want to go down on my own!
I was in this mine yesterday I did find some shafts but don't think thay line up with it could be wrong got to be more adit there or lower down
Good stuff fella, think this is Gawton mine, as most people call the higher adit Gawton but it's south Bedford in reality.... Let me know if you find more holes....
@wookiesundergroundadventures cool I will definitely let you know if I find anything
Would scare me hanging off a piece of rope but would still love to go down a mine
Still amazes me how the miners used to tunnel through solid rock
Beware of collapse. There is no shoring there.
As an old caver and explorer of northern lead mines i found the videography excellent.. a great find and explore. Pity about the music though... Totally distracted from the film and had to watch it silent to get any proper sense of atmosphere
It looks nice and loose to dig, it just needs shoring up, easiest on one side.
@@martynwatson4929 yes mate, it's very loose! Got some big lumps amongst the small stuff as well!
Tell me that was fenced off?
All three are bat roosts and should not be disturbed?
Nearly all adits and mines in Cornwall have bats in them, we are very careful not to disturb them!
Great video, music not my style but got a mute button. Visited it many times & can find it with my eyes closed though never been inside. Quite tempted now..
Is this your own local private mine Ian? Get orf moy laaaand!!!!!!!
Scary stuff.
Soon as the music started I stopped watching.
you must be old then
@@kennymorton2416 I muted it!
It's so weird seeing a building in an underground cavern haha!
This place is amazing! Thanks for the video 🙌
That ain’t a castle no more it’s identified as a ‘ruin’ Plus that’s a tower
It’s in the uk and also I’ve been there
Cracking video thanks for sharing
Brilliant footage and I did a recent video with the drone flying around the quarry. One of many parts to come as it's an amazing place. Thanks for sharing. Definite sub from me.
Breathe dude 😅
the camera going up down and spinning round did my head in . had to stop watching
That's epic. So much to explore.
Where on Dartmoor?
Down near Newton Abbot 👍
@@wookiesundergroundadventures how far away from ashburton?
@@jakesgreatadventures Not far, it's called Hawksmoor mine, right above Kelly mine if you know where that is!
@@wookiesundergroundadventures how far from river dart country park?
Pretty sure I went to this one a couple weeks ago, came out that entrance after doing the shaft up top in the woods
Yes mate you did indeed!
@@wookiesundergroundadventures thought it was, the quarry drop looked familiar even though it was pitch black when we came out
Why is there an awful noise of people obnoxiously bashing their instruments repetitively.
Is it heading uphill during your walk? Did you get to the end?
We had to get a taxi to the highest village then walk up through to the canal, but that was on the flat till it ended, yes we got to the end of that section, it went on for miles....
I'm far too old to be doing this sort of thing so it's great watching these videos, take care!
Many thanks...
Uninvited poking around someone elses dig is a good way to remain undergroung in permanently...
I don't think we were 'poking'! We were unaware that this was a live dig, and we were careful not to interfere with the project, if you note there is no location mentioned...
Interesting. When I've seen these before, it's been because someone was seeking to open a "natural" source for a domestic water supply - and there would have been a low dam across the mouth of the "cave" (producing the flooded floor) from which their water supply would flow to a holding tank downslope, usually behind their home.
Went there a couple weeks back, couldn’t get my new camera to work properly 😊did you see the flooded on across the road? Accessible in summer apparently
Hi mate, yes have been told it's not accessible even in summer! Will have to go and have a look when dry!
This reminded me of years ago crawling through a cave that opened with a view high up on the cliffs of San gregorio Beach, california Blessings
I’m so jealous…. The cave looks awesome
Finally got my SRT kit just need to get myself a rope so I can go and use it
The old high viz and a ladder to get in anywhere for free trick worked a treat 😂👍
I thought these had been filled in all the way. There was one which went from one side of the headland to the other but was filled in doing the 1970's as you had to dive and there had been some drownings. It may have been this one. Nicely found
I enjoyed watching this. Thank you for sharing :)
I know wer tiz b
Where tiz b ?
Thought I recognised that shaft 😀 Well done, nice bit of practise dropping down there.
Thanks mate...
@@wookiesundergroundadventures Say thanks again to K for showing us it, you will have to pop down this way one day for a trip
@@CornishMineExplorer yes indeed we will. Will be coming down for beardies on Thursday...
@@wookiesundergroundadventures Might see you there!
Nice one, Have you got enough rope protectors? Those ones you slide and position as you go are awkward but about the only thing apart from a massive length of carpet.
Hi, yes we have those, this one was nice and soft at the top though...
Nice little level, nice clear video!
Anything down the right side?
No mate only goes about 15ft!
Kenneggy cove?
Hi, yes it is, easy to get to at low tide...
