Welcome to the Foundation Art School UA-cam Channel!
wish to see you at Livestream, more often !!!!! Greate job Brian !
I'll be starting the livestreams back up next month. I'm working on a few new videos too.
This is propoganda
Yes, but I produce the best propaganda.
Brilliant video. When u say contour lines, do u mean the direction of shading? 😊
I use the term "contour lines" to describe any lines that are used to describe form which can include directional strokes for shading. But for most people I think "contour lines" usually refers specifically to outlines.
why did you stop releasing videos, you are probably the best tutor I have been able to follow, ever.
We've been busy re-designing the school and our website. Now that that's complete we'll be ramping up UA-cam video production starting next month.
@foundationartschool thank you so much. Where are your courses? I'm just starting and would like to continue with more of your videos. Thank you again!!
I have no words to tell you, how much it helps. Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much🙏
Wonderful information
Your tutorials help me a lot, thank you so much!
Thank you for all the tips 🙏🏼
I don't understand what are the benefits of this type of method of drawing, even it's not seems looks like.
The Conte a Paris 1710 costs $16- per pencil in Australia, with very few shops, if any selling them.
That's insane, nobody should pay that much for a pencil. Once our new website is up and running my next project is going to be testing and identifying drawing supplies that will get the job done well and be more affordable and accessible. I don't know what's going on with the art supply industry but it seems to be very quickly going off the rails.
Once again, you explain anatomy best of all the other artistic teachers on youtube.😍
👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
Thank you ❤
Thanks BK
You are wonderful 🍃👌
Fantastic 🙏⚘️👌
Completely professional👌⚘️
Thanks a lot 🍃
The fuck¿
Bryan you're absolutely the best teacher! You somehow have the ability of understanding the difficulties an intermediate student has. In figure drawing and portrait you made it so clear how one has to be constantly aware of plumb line, angles and proportions. But also you always take your time in doing these things, you don't speed up like most teachers. And I think it is in this state of intense focus and slowing doen where the growth lies.
😢Wow you are doing a good job for poor students like me who can't afford paid education ❤
This Is Very Informative Thank You❤
I thought it was just me. The Conte pencils always break. It is like they come in the package already damaged. The Wolff's carbon pencils never break.
👍☝👆👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
such a informational video
thank you keep up the good work

I use the Maries charcoal pencils and I love them
Are they better than the Wolff's Carbon? I watched another video on them and I heard they are the best.
@@galereginald12 Depends on personal preference. I like the Maries because they are a proper charcoal pencil made with a thick core. Can get a decent taper and they just don't seem to break. Also they have that more traditional look. Very soft and velvety. definitely give them a try.
Hello, how long did it take you to start teaching after attending the atelier? I’m looking to sharpen my ability so that I can eventually have in person workshops for the youth (beginners).
Had lots of trouble sharpening my Conte pencils and I thought it was me! Thanks for this information!!!!!
But how are you getting the distances of, say, the browline, length from brow to chin??
What about distances and proportions???
This is so helpful. I also don't like the loomis method because it was difficult to map out the part where you cut off the sides of the sphere along with the proportions not lining up (specifically rule of thirds). I know its suppose to model a perfect face but it's difficult to apply it to references where people don't have the head shape.
Thank you.now i understand cleary
It's the hardest to find and draw the centerline of the face (the forehead-to-the nose)
I agree. Finding the centerline is very challenging. There are a few things to look for that will help with this and I'll be making a video about those things in the future. We'll start posting videos again in October when our new website is finished.
Really helpful. Thanks again.
This is my second time watching your vid. I really get what you're saying now. Thanks a lot. This is going to help me so much.
8:10 I struggled with exactly the same problem. Everyone i watched about Loomis didn't talk about it. Instead i asked myself "ok, you show i have to draw it but how the hell do i know where and what size?". Big thanks to you for bringing this up and I came across this video. This is exactly the kind of construction you show I was looking for. I really struggled with drawing eyes for a long time and it turned out that actually my problem was not being able to draw the eyebrows correctly and what goes directly under the eyebrow. Thanks.
Now I understand why Loomis method never worked for me
Hi, Great video but I never received back the link for the free pack references.
Thank you Sir
OMG Bryan Knox has started his own art school, I joining the first thing in the morning! I took one of you classes at Watts years ago and I loved it.
nice idea
❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏
please don't stop these streams, you are literally the best teacher for me, im annotating all your comments and instructions. It is just what I really need at this moment to level up. Great person, artist and teacher
We're taking a break from the livestreams and teaching classes so I can focus on our current project which is a complete rebuild of our website and school. I'll start doing weekly livestreams again when we get closer to the relaunch of the school. It's still a few months away but once things are up and running then we'll be highly focused on creating UA-cam videos and weekly livestreams. UA-cam is a big part of our future plans.
Thankyou so much! Finally a way to sharpen my charcoal pencils after such a long time! Hope to get them really sharp soon 😊 thankyou again! 🙏🙏🙏
You're welcome!
Hello great master. I would like to tell you how fascinated I am by your method and your skill. I'm a Brazilian who unfortunately doesn't speak English, but I watch your videos as if they were sacred. A big hug from here in the southern hemisphere.
Thanks so much! It's very impressive that you're able to learn from them without understanding what I'm saying.
I would like to know, how do you rotate the head in space with the Reilly method when you are creating you own head, wouldn’t that be the great thing about the Loomis method???
The Reilly method was designed as a way to work from photo reference which is why I have stopped using it. I was trained to use the Reilly method at Watts but over they years I have realized it has many limitations. I have switched to a more constructive type method that is a hybrid of all of the different methods I have studied combined with some of my own ideas. My classes use photo reference but the way I draw/teach is designed to teach students constructive methods that can be used for figure and head invention when they get to be more advanced. There are some concepts about rhythms that I learned from the Watts version of the Reilly method that I still use but generally I would say that I don't use the Reilly method anymore.
@@foundationartschool thank you do much for your answer, ill definitely look at your school 😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
