Transcription: Young and Foolish by Bill Evans
I share this transcription here, for educational purposes.
I want to emphasize that I do not own any copyrights to the recordings.
This transcription was a labor of love and took many, many hours to do.
Over the years, I kept revisiting this beautiful performance by the great Bill Evans (accompanying Tony Bennett), for the simple reason that I was not able to hear exactly every note Bill played.
I also developed as a pianist myself over the years, and gained a greater understanding of harmony, voicings, and various techniques on the instrument.
Transcribing is very hard work, one does to learn from the greats - and Bill Evans certainly is considered one of the great jazz pianists.
In the future I will dedicate a video to the process of listening and transcribing. For now: enjoy!

Didn’t realize Herbie had bebop chops like this. Gonna have to do a deep dive, any recommendations where I can find similar stuff of his?
Check out his recordings in the 60’s with Wayne Shorter, his work with Miles Davis, and many of his solo recordings. I’m gonna be doing more transcriptions of his on the channel in the future

I do, (since I transcribed this solo and that took considerable time and effort), however, I’m not trying to run a pdf file exchange service here on my channel. What I hope to encourage in students is the ability to hear what is being played. Try to listen to recordings (you like) and play what you hear - your playing skills will improve drastically!
