My grandparents Janyce and Theodore Mahoney were a part of this church. Mid 1900s. I’d love to visit.
Amazing! Please, let us know when you are in the area. Weekday mass is at 12:05pm.
So very sorry for your loss. Min was a wonderful neighbor and friend. I will miss her. 💜🕯️
On this day, we laid my mother-in-law Erminia “Min” Kersznowski to rest with this most beautiful Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Camden, then at the cemetery, and then a really wonderful luncheon at Filomena’s with family and friends. The church itself is extraordinary - it’s basically a cathedral. The flower arrangements and the cremation urn were really stunning! Matt, Ryan and I made a heartfelt floral-adorned photo board that brought several people to tears…it was full of photos of Min’s happiness! Our funeral director was John Ciechanowski, and he was beyond amazing…he took care of every last detail and then some! At Mass, the priest, Father Adam, gave such a thoughtful, personalized homily in which he repeatedly mentioned Min’s proclivity for extraordinary sacrifice, her love of gardening, and the fig trees she (& PopPop) grew from saplings that we now have a “grove” of in our own backyard thanks to her. Our cousin Jimmy, her godson, did a beautiful job with the first reading. Our own son, Ryan did the second reading…it was so touching to see him up there - his MomMom would have 💯% wanted that! I got to do the intentions (aka “Lord, hear our prayer”). Probably the most touching part of the whole Mass was the singing of Ave Maria by the incredible cantor…she had a voice like an angel and it definitely made me cry. 👼🏼 Here’s what I came here to say, though: We were moved, awestruck, touched, and incredibly emotional about everyone who came today. If you were there, you have NO IDEA how much it meant, especially to Matt. You may never know what an impact you just made on Matt’s heart. We didn’t realize how profoundly that would hit, but it did…it TRULY, TRULY did! ❤️ It meant more than you will ever know to Matt. 💕 He kept saying: “WHOA- did you see ___? Did you see who came? My cousin ___ is here! It’s so stinkin’ hot and such a nice day but ___ actually drove up to be here! I haven’t seen ___ in years! I didn’t even know that ___ knew…how did they find out? I think it’s been over 20 years since ___ even saw my mom! I can’t believe __ actually flew here for this funeral! I know that __ had to work today and gave up income just to be here. I never in a million years would have thought ___ would even think to be here, to try to come here….” On & on this went….Matt was gobsmacked and is still in a state of shock at how many of you kindly gave up the most humid, sunny Saturday in July to be with us in an un-air-conditioned church in the heart of Camden to pay respects to his mom. Thank you for sharing your stories, your memories, your selves, your kind words, and most certainly your time to be there with us today! So if you were there in person, please know that it was soooooo very appreciated - especially by Matt! If you couldn’t be there in person, please know that we have been and are still receiving your cards, flowers, plants, gifts, and messages ~ and we treasure them all! Your thoughtfulness has given US lessons on how to be more thoughtful, and we are so grateful. 💕
Thank you for the kind words concerning the music. Greatly appreciated.
Te extrañaré mi primo querido que Dios te tenga en su gloria 😢
