One reason why you'll see less stuttering when using a 7900XTX is because it has almost 1TB/s of memory bandwidth AND a large L3 cache which effectively boosts that figure. Only the 3090Ti or 4090 have faster memory but those cards have (or had) significantly higher prices. And of course you get 24GB of VRAM which no game is going to max out while 8,10, and even 12GB cards are starting to see issues.

So, the question is, will the drivers for 5070Ti and up all be "Studio Drivers"?

I have had a great experience with the PS5Pro. I am a daily PS Portal user as well, and my experience connecting to the Pro vs. Og, is a noticeable change. I just finished Last of Us swapping between sessions on the Pro and Portal - I use the Quality mode when on the TV taking advantage of the VRR, and on when I'm picking back up on the Portal, I switch the output to the PSSR mode. Its been awesome. I just started Last of Us Part 2 and doing the same thing.... I do love my PC, Switch, and XboxX, ....., I guess I just like to game.....

man, 400v on that thing, is totally unacceptable for me... I dont care what brand, what performance, if its over 250w it cant go into my case and room. Im still on that 2nd hand 3080 undervolted and it hovers around 200-220v full usage. And even that, I can feel the heat in summer. 400v is crazy.

Compared to my day 1 ps5 and slim, my pro is OUTSTANDING. The pro is faster, has better power, quality, runs cooler and has 2TB of storage (remember buying a ps5 and then paying $200 ON TOP for the m.2 to reach 2tb) thats pro prices…if you have a tv that truly supports the pro than the pro is worth every penny out of the box and is ready for the future of gaming. I slapped my slim disc and cover on and my m.2 and it was running like a beast with 4TB for $700

I would personally say wait until RDNA4 as both sides mostly flopped this generation, RNDA 3 while definitely an improvement wasn't big enough to convience a lot of gamers even though not bad and if you wanted team red while still wanting things like productivity, upscaling, raytracing then amd did make some modest improvements but too be frank it is more akin to a generational refresh than a full generational leap in preformance. Nivida being the apple of PC hardware sigificantly overpriced their hardware and didn't improve enough in areas were it actually made sense for current gen demands like the RTX 4060 8GB is laughable minimum needed 12GB and the ti variant with 16gb should've just been the only version but with actual adjustments so the vram differences actually matters (to utilzie it you need to push settings the card cannot handle and destroys your preformance lol), even then vram obviously isn't everything applying to AMD aswell (RX 7600 XT why does it have 16GB of vram it could've just been 12GB or 10GB). Speaking of entry-level, most of the RNDA3 imo is just bad value over Nvida, although the RX 7800XT/RX 7900 GRE/RX 7900 XT/X do provide nice value and I am happy with my gpu atleast, even with the expecation that AMD was worse in areas gamers love to over obsess over, I still didn't see bad preformance even with FSR. Although FSR is definitely a bit of a compromise over DLSS, its a pill I can swallow for the price I paid for. I only went this generation because wanted the ryzen 7 7800x3d which came bundled with the 7900 xt from microcenter at 700 dollars w/sales tax which like a few months ago. That was relatively fine, compared to the rtx 4070 ti super which was my second option (can't go wrong with either or, matter of fact the rtx 4070 ti super imo is actually a great card if you want 1440p raytraced/ai upscaling & productivity preformance from nvidia that is actually sensible hardware spec wise *cough* rtx 4060 8gb *cough* rtx 4060 ti 16gb w/ same memory bus & core count *cough* but the cheapest i can find it is at 810> w/sales tax and the additional 4GBs of vram for 4K does actually come in clutch sometimes, although thats rarely passed in 1440p), while I'll hold onto it for atleast a few generations, AMD needs to improve upscaling and raytracing preformance like they have been doing among other things like better dedicated hardware as a solution, as even with the RNDA 3 improved compute units just how AMD handles raytracing and upscaling simply is suboptimal and fails to address the root-cause. For me atleast, is a consideration (not primary as rastorized 1440p gaming is most of my experience which this card is great in) as while i primarily do 1440p for 4K its bit more tricky (own a 45" 4K120Hz vesa adaptive sync samsung tv). This card works fine as a primary 1440p partial 4K card for its price, AMD right now should focus on next gen preformance optimisations and power-efficency imrovements (even tho the power-effiecency of this card is vs the 4070 isn't really a factor because both are good enough, would be better for undervolting) combined with competitive pricing imo I think would make an inticing offer for mid-ranged buyers wanting affordable 1440p preformance with raytracing and upscaling reliably and to an extent 4K, could also dispell AMD being bad for raytracing as for my case that isnt true but this is with a flagship 7000 series card that costs 700 bucks, which at the lower segiments nvidia does provide a clearly better value proposition for people wanting such as a primary factor which even then preformance with current gen hardware isn't powerful enough reliably), It all depends how much better truly rnda4 improvements will be and their pricing. AMD upsold this generation, while Nvidia did too simply. I wouldve recommended just avoiding this gen entirely from amd and nvidia or intel. I only did so because holding onto the i5 8600K and an gtx 1060 6gb fot several years is obviously rough and the chip deal I got, but out of anytime now I wouldn't buy any current gen GPU as they simply aren't good enough were they need to be or are overpriced (even with the RX 7900 GRE/XT now being a more reasonable value than it was at launch which I could recommend, AMD has to pick up pace on optimisation). Overall, just wait till the new series cuz if the worst happens then old gen card prices will drop but if best you will have missed out on much needed improvements that couls potentially come up. Either too expensive, make no sense hardware wise, both the former and latter, and current gen optimisation overall even for Nvidia simply isn't good enough in the areas it needs to be and likley won't be for a couple of generations.

Good thing I can wait few months so they can actually fix the game bugs, performance issues and missing features. Throwing money at the broken games, so they run ok, is not a way to go.

Yeah, the sad thing is that gamers are very ignorant in general. Most normies are only familiar with Nvidia so that's what they go out and buy. They fall for the buzzwords and marketing every single time. And these are the masses, us people who actually think about this stuff are a small minority. When I built my rig this year I got a 7900XT, because VRAM and honestly bc I hate Nvidia. I don't want to support them and I hope AMD will get more market share. Anyone complaining about this stuff, yet has an Nvidia GPU in their PC is part of the problem.

I am a PC gamer as of a year and a half ago getting my similar set up to what you have minus the 1440 p monitor. I use the LGC3 48 as my daily driver. Love it. Anyways, I got a PS five pro and even though I’ve been trying to explain to a lot of my friends that grew up on console- how amazing it is to play on PC … the pro is impressing me. No front, I think for the value and for what I like- it is a nice jab in the arena of what I like to play. Solid. John at digital foundry is cool. Not the others. AMD doesn't have any price advantage over Nvidia, it is just the same as expensive per FPS. Spiderman Remast - 4070s = 20% faster raster and 20% more expensive (without DLSS FG) THAN 7800xt

Am I going crazy or does the 4k60 still feel like it's way below 60fps? Also, if the pro really is running on 4K60, that's still impressive as my 4070ti runs this game at around 60-70fps with RT on 1440p. This game might be 10 years old but the graphics overhaul does make this game a lot more gorgeous and almost next-gen like.

Basically, games rendered at 1440p will look better on a 1440p screen. 4K games rendered at 4K will look better on 4K screens.

I'm happy I bought my 4070ti super. It willl be okay for a couple of years from now on and if the newest games with UE5 and ray tracing are too demanding for it,I can always play older games that I haven't got the opportunity to do so. So for me personally, the gtx 1080ti is the best graphics card of the last 10 years, because I used this card for a long time and brought me joy for 5 years until I replaced it with an RTX 4090.

Sad thing is that AMD decided to not compete with the 80 series of Nvidia anymore. After the last couple of gens of AMD cards I was strongly considering an AMD card for my upgrade within the next couple of years but now.... I don't know. Nvidia's prices are going to be insanely expensive (more so than usual given no competition in the higher end market). The only ones that are going to lose here is the consumer.

If you have a decent monitor, the PS5 Pro is absolutely worth it. If you don't have a decent monitor... don't buy it. $700 is a lot of money but everything is more expensive these days. Flagship mobile phones are well over $1000 so....
