Our First Trip in the Soaring Eagle Truck Camper
just got the 4000/4800 WEN for my TT. I have dual power water heater so wanted the extra power. So far so good This is a step up from my 10 year old champion, 3700. Is very quiet.
The dad jokes about the funnel 😂💀
Looks like a nice unit. Trying to decide if Honda is really worth all of the extra money.
Great video thanks
Very informative video. Thank you. One thing that might have been nice is if you had mentioned how much you paid for the generator and the price difference between Amazon and home depot (everyone cares about cost). The other item that might have made the video more enjoyable is if Lisa had been in front of the camera. I did thoroughly enjoy the interaction between the two of you. Finally, I believe this is going to be the generator I will be purchasing so your video was extremely informative. Thank you and I wish you the best.

See you soon bud💛🫎🫎🫎🫎
You 2 are adorable. The banter between you 2 is what is missing from most relationships today. That being said, thank you for sharing yourselves with the world and i appreciate the break-in information as i am waiting on my WEN 3600 duel fuel generator to be delivered. Videos like this are gold for those of us with short term memory issues in the grey matter. Thank you for this video.
Ahh, the soothing sounds of being out in nature 🤣 I do appreciate the video as I'm looking at Wen generators as emergency power (we get a lot of storms)
Thank you very much, Sir for the walk through. Very informative for non mechanic person like me, you gave me the confidence to start it up without hesitation. Once again, thank you !
Do these come w the propane hose in the box?
Yup!
Would this run a GREENWORKS 2700 psi pressure washer?
Thumbs😏👍Up to the Video for this is one the generators I've been thinking of purchasing.
Im looking at these for my 18 rzr 900 trail on a percentage scale how much better do they make the ride. Thanks
Turn IT down to ECO
I was wondering who you were talking to on your phone, then I realize, oh he’s joking lol you guys are funny
Amazon has a 30 day return on This item.
I put s fenders on mine and love them
Skyroot. Trails from Oregon 👍
Skyroot Trails from Oregon ❤
My polaris dealer told me anything less than 25mph should be in low for the trail s machine , what do you think. I run my ace 900 in high mostof the time unless it's a steep grade or pulling something and its fine . Love to have your thoughts 😊 Happy trails from Oregon !
Happy trails from Oregon ! I wish I could hear your conversations a little better Thanks for posting 👍
Happy trails from Oregon ! Have similar machines as you , 900 ACE 1OOO TRAIL S How do you like the fold down windshield ? 👍
Have fun cleaning the machines 😊 !
Loved it 😂😂
Do you use auto exposure on your action cam? I have Osmo 3 and have a hard time to make my vids look this good.
Just got mine today, ordered it from the the Wen website.. Pleasantly surprised it was delivered within 4 days.. Free shipping and zero tax..
Poorly marked trail. You must use a GPS. How about more info, like where the trails are at and how long they are?
I really like those campers. I have a f150. So i need it to be light weight.
Mine showed up today and I got it out there running a little fan heater and I'm very in the load doing the break-in just as the book says. The Onan generator in my motorhome is totally wore out at 3,000 hours so I hope this little 3600 will run my AC should I ever need it to do that, but I'm not going to attempt it until after the break-in. It'll have fresh oil in it then too. So far it seems to purr like a kitten, and I did make a little video to send to a friend of mine and it sounded a lot louder in the video than it does in person, weird. My only question now is is there a backup capacitor or battery in the display to keep a memory of the accumulated run time where do we have to write down the time we use it each time. That's what I'm going to figure out by the end of the day.
Yeah, I don't see an hour meter on there so I think you would just have to keep track of the hour run time so that you know when to do your scheduled maintenance. Excellent question, I hadn't even considered that one. Thank you for watching
@@mudhawk7353 When the generators running it shows the voltage. There's a little button on the right side that you push, and then it will display the frequency (cycles per second), and if you push it again it will show the accumulated section run time.
Unfortunately before you shut it off you have to look at the accumulated run time for that session and then write it down, otherwise you're not going to know what your total run time has been. How to solve that problem you could buy one of those inductive tachometer / hour meter that is battery-operated and all you have to do is wrap the wire on it around the spark plug wire several times and double-sided tape the unit to the case of the generator. I have one of those but I'm not going to use it for that I'm just going to keep track by writing down my session times
We discovered this the last time we were up there! Great ride and nice work-around to get to the other side of the trail at Black Bear. Love the ATV legal roads in that area. Did you guys ride down to Black Moshannon State Park? Very nice to have access to that area. I heard mixed comments about that trail only being open until Labor day however that is not posted on any of the signs so hopefully it will remain open all season or at least through the fall!
We had started down a very rough trail thinking it was the way to the water and the other side. Ended up turning around because it became not doable for our machines. We actually just stumbled on that road to Black Bear. Talk about excited. We are here right now with our son and that aqueduct is flooded and the road not passable. Checking again today.
@@mudhawk7353 I think I know which trail you're talking about - is it the one that goes down under the Viaduct? We tried to get down to the water there too but wow was that washed out and just too dangerous for us! We too stumbled upon that new trail. Ironically, by the time we got down to the black bear trailhead it was getting too late and had to turn around; we never actually did the black bear side of SSRT. Saving that for next time! Enjoy your time up there.
Man ive always wanted to ride the Hatfield McCoy Trail. Stay safe brother!
Got a dual fuel version and ran it with an interlock on propane during a recent power outage. Good compromise of power and weight. Thanks for sharing.
We looked at those but for weekend travel with our little camper carrying propane was not in the cards. For home use I think a duel would be nice!
Where’s the full length video
I just bought the exact same unit from Amazon and it'll be here on the 12th. The 4000 watt Onan generator in my motorhome is wore out, so I bought this because it was cheaper than rebuilding my Onan, and a hell of a lot less work. Oh sure I'll have to pull it out of the storage compartment and plug my cord into it, but I've already pulled the Onan generator for repairs two times in the last 8 years, and I just don't want to do it again.
We used it this weekend instead of the onboard. Ran continuously for 2 days with mostly the fridge, lights and phones, etc. We also used the Keurig and the microwave. It performed well. Pretty impressed with this little unit.
Well I ran it today for 6.2 hours, and I changed the oil at 4 hours. I will change it again at 8 hours, and then again at 25 hours like the manual says, but I wanted to get that oil that came with it out of there ASAP. Every time you shut the generator off the accumulated runtime counter starts over again, so I'm writing the time of every session in a notebook. Can't wait to try it on the air conditioner in my motorhome, but I'm going to wait till I get the 8 hours break in time on it first.
@@mudhawk7353 I agree, these are pretty cool little generators. Your video is one of the reasons I bought mine.
Good video Ed, darn shame SSRT had a deal with Brooks welding to put sides on the viaduct but the owner said no and shut the viaduct anyway darn shame. Glad you had fun at SSRT.
It's true! There is light at the end of the tunnel. I would ride that trail just to go through it.
Enjoyed riding with you . We are in fire season around here so we cant get out as much.. I think I mentioned before my wife & I have the same machines as you . HAPPY TRAILS from OREGON 👍😁
Nice easy trail with scenery. Where is it and what state? You really should add narration to your videos and keep the camera pointing forward. You'll attract more views and subs if you do this.
I have the exact same Dodge 2500 Ram. I want to be able to close the tailgate. Is there a Camper that allows me to do that?
In the Soaring Eagle line the 5.0 should work with the tail gate closed. Every other camper we looked at was bigger and heavier and because we tow the weight of the camper was a consideration. We were disappointed we could not close the tailgate but it seems to work okay.
Enjoyed watching this video, you guys are hilarious 😂 thanks 🙏🏾
Hi! Thanks for the details! How does it handle on your truck and impact on mpgs and total payload
The truck handles it really well. I thought we would need Timbrens and we did not. As far as payload we took the truck to be weighted before we did our camper research. We chose this camper because it worked with our payload with extra room for loading, etc. I can't really speak on the mileage because we are always towing. I'm sure we lost a few miles. Thanks for watching!
SuperATV is overrated and overpriced! Glass windshields are the way to go!
that's a shame you scratched it with that strap, I transported my trail s with that windshield on. It never had a problem flipping up, I think it's a bad design they should not have that lower plexiglass piece. It's kind of flimsy, I think the upper windshield should've been longer and closeat the hood with a similar latch. I had a hard time unlatching mine also and pulling it down. I took it off and it's sitting in my garage more wasted money.
You should list it for sale. I'm sure it will sell.
Wow if they just wouldn’t have quit sending printed directions with pictures. Glad you got it done.
Ed, just watched your video I feel your frustration. I owned an auto repair shop for over 35 years always very disappointing when you get a job done and find out the new part is bad. Number two a few years ago I installed those windshields on both our 2015 RZR’s and at that time they came with paper instructions and most important pictures. I did notice the bottom piece is different design and attaching brackets are different then on the 2015’s. Hope you had a great ride keep those videos a coming.
too bad I didn't live closer to you. I would've gave you my flip up windshield. I am removing a lot of the stuff on my trail S. I have too much stuff on it, I also took off the plastic roof. My son-in-law put the windshield on for me. I put the plastic roof on backwards and was getting mad wondering why the holes didn't line up with the roll cage. But I got it on and drove over to their house and my grandson noticed immediately that I had the roof on backwards so I decided not to try to put the windscreen on.
What is the run time under load with a full tank of gasoline?
I've got the same unit and i usually get about 4-4:30 hours at about 50% load.
@@chrisrozas2392what kind of gas?? Please
@@Lifeat36SVV I use ethanol free unleaded.
Have one of these and its not loud at all. Very good generator at a great price
Have a 7 pin outlet, installed in the side of your bed, so your cord isn't having to reach the one, by your hitch. I would remove the tailgate when hauling the camper. Congratulations!!
