Jeez that part scared the hell out of me at 2:24!
Beautiful tribute
This song is brilliant ❤ Australia down under 👍
Have improvements made it safer for these ships now?
I love this song. This video is so well done with the footage. Probably my favorite I’ve seen.
I dont like folk music but The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is the exception.
“ DOWN THE HATCH “ ‼️
I actually rode on a boat ride here as a teen. My little brother wanted this cassette tape so bad for Christmas🎁 so I searched high and low to find it and finally did and gifted it to him. Now as fate has it, he lost his property due to delinquent taxes, so the IRS came to collect his belongings. Now, he has since passed away and I don't even have that song to remember us of a boat ride one fine day on Lake Superior.
Such a sad story. I wanted or needed to see the faces of the men who died in this accident. Great song by Gordon Lightfoot. One of my favorites. But so sad........
Blessings…❤

There's a rumor James Cameron is making a movie about the Edmond Fitzgerald. if it's true I'm certain it'll be just as big as the Titanic and will bring back the spirit of the Fitzgerald
Still listening in 2024. I have not forgotten. Cleveland Ohio.
So many years later and it's still impacting people. Can only imagine the bravery of those men heading out into that system. Did anyone hear that radio there at the end where the guy said were takin a hell of a beating? Was that real radio from the Fitzgerald?
/At 7 pm a main hatchway gave in and he said...fellas its been good to know ya...does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn minutes into hours? So simple yet so profound
Let's salute the real heroes
"And later that night when his lights went outa sight, came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". For anyone that has put to sea, that line sends chills up your spine. Every time you hear it.
A meaningful tribute. It still brings tears
Love this song. Sad as it is. Australia down under 👍 🇦🇺
That be funny if this guys last name was berry 😂
My brothers & I watched her leave Duluth, MN. She was something to behold.
Years ago my older brother and company were having dinner at a Duluth restaurant. They noticed a gentleman sitting by himself. They asked him if they could join him. He readily agreed. The man was Gordon Lightfoot. He was an absolute gentleman and a fascinating conversationalist. My brother called that evening well spent and an extraordinary opportunity. RIP, Gordon Lightfoot.
wow, 5 years and I finally found it
I know the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is one wreck no one is allowed near because all 29 hands on board went down with it and here is the name of the captain Ernest mcsorely age 63
I saw the Edmond Fitzgerald in 1972 on lake Michigan at the port in Waukegan Illinois .this is very sad to me
Really well made video and homage to the 29 crew members lost.
Very sad song, Lake Superior is so big it's like an Ocean.
Lake Michigan alone has over 2500 shipwrecks
❤
Phoenix, Az 1976 ish, Gordon Lightfoot concert at Veterans memorial coliseum. Very minimal band support. Mostly him on a stool with that trusty 12 string. He could surely deliver a story. We're lucky to have that music.
I remember that day well.I was thirteen years old and you to live by iron mountain michigan
.
does anyone know where the love of god goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours
when they measure the final tonage we will know a great deal more to this story.
I remember when this happened
My dad began his career at the Locks,n lived on Superior, in the Sault. This song makes me feel for the familys. I'm 64 now n still remember that November night. May they rest in peace 😢
I second that motion. Love and respect to all
R.I.P. To All the crew and to Gordon as well.
