Hi Daniel, That's a good question. Speaker decoupling isolation is where the rubber really does hit the road. As you would be aware, your speakers are the things that create the vibration in your room. My advice would be to put the Auva 70s under your speakers, and then, as your budget allows, start putting the eqs under your components.🎧👍🙂

@staceymangham Hi mate, as far as I understand, it's part of the construction of the cartridge. It looks like it bolts the front plate to the top of the cartridge that mounts to the tonearm.

@staceymangham Hi Stacey Kuzma suggest in their manual to essentially match the tracking force with the anti skate / bias, which is what I've done. I've also done the visual checks, and the cantilever is not pulling to the left or the right, and I'm not hearing any evidence of tracking distortion toward the inside of the record. One slight correction, if I may, if you have too much bias, the cantilever will pull to the left as the arm will be pulling towards the outside of the record if you're looking at the cartridge from the front. At that point, you would pick up tracking distortion in the left channel and also toward the inside of the record. At this point, I just wanted to set up according to the Kuzma manual, and then I will use the Wally tools to see if we can extract any more improvement. Then, at that point, I'll come back to you all with a video explaining what I changed to get further improvement from the original Kuzma setup. It should be an interesting little experiment.👍🎧👌

@@shanestephenson8423 Shane, of course you are dead right about the bias being too high would make the arm apply more pressure towards the outer edge of the record. I'm trying to write too quickly while eating so i made a heap of spelling errors, so I was not surprised at all I made that error too. Thankfully you have enough experience to "pick up" on it pun intended 😂 I should have mentioned your Kuzma arm is such high quality that their recommended settings for bias will be right and this is a way of verifying it on less expensive arms. Also I have heard the Wally tool is pretty trick. Also you have enough experience to hear the distortion, I also noticed when the bias isn't right it affects the imaging as well which could be a side effect of the distortion. Looking forward to your next instalment 😀

@staceymangham Yes, mate, correct on the imaging being off with too much bias or not enough 👍 Imaging is really good with all the tracks I've been playing. And a good test is those 2 Sting tracks they are both the very inside tracks on that album.👌🎧🙂

@@shanestephenson8423 Yes I certainly haven't been able to detect any problems from this end Shane, and im not at all surprised you aren't hearing any end of side distortion after seeing your cartridge lining up at both points on your alignment protractor it sounds fantastic, it was more for beginners with less expensive arms reading the comments after watching the video

Hi John, Yes, I did try that in my testing originally. There was a bigger audible difference when I had one box in each channel in my system. But of course, I think experimentation here is absolutely important because it really is a system specific component. I believe these things work and will work in just about every system, but it might look different between my system and yours, for instance.👍🎧

I have Sopra 3 with 2x Rel 812S, Pass Labs xa30.8 with xp-12 preamp. My source is Electrocompaniet MKV cd player and the latest purchase dCS Lina DAC with the master clock. That DAC was a game changer, my system never sounded as good as now. I'm thinking about maybe upgrading to monoblocks xa60.8 one day, but for now I'm recovering from the latest purchase.😄 Do you live in Melbourne maybe?

Hi Dan, Yes, all your comments are valid points, and warrant further investigation, I suspect. But I guess the point of my review was to let people know there's a relatively inexpensive way without a lot of fuss to improve the things I've spoken about in my review. But as you know, any audiophile worth their salt will start trying to improve things further. That's just what we do.😅🎧👌
