Catching All Kinds of Fish Night Jigging
My sashimi plating needs work. However, with the nighttime fishing being slow and getting lucky with some Bigeye Trevally and more. I will always take a scraper of a fish over nothing at all! We as fisherman learn to appreciate the smallest to the largest of fish. Why? Well, it sure beats going to work! Until next time, Shootees!

Vertical Jigging Surprises: Hooking Up to Monsters
Переглядів 1,3 тис.21 годину тому
With a window of light winds and calm waters, we went to do some offshore vertical jigging. Brought my friend along with us. But with the scorching heat, my GoPro ran into some technical difficulties overheating. Still, always fun to just have a half day catching some fish for a feed. Good going Alijah! Caught a nice Moana Kale and Munu. Sorry again for the rainbow runner. Until next time, shoo...

Sorry, I know its been a while. The weather has been bad and the fishing has been slow. But hopefully things should start to get better! I was craving some steamed fish so I defrosted and cooked up an Uku from a past trip. Uku also known as the Green Jobfish is a popular fish to eat by fishermen in Hawaii. I enjoyed eating this, and I hope you enjoy watching! Until Next time, Shootees! - I uplo...

The Fish That Saved The Day

With people catching here and there, and no good runs like seasons prior. We go out on the weekends trying to get lucky. Since you can't catch sitting at home. So this Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna) was a blessing. Especially with a slow day like this day. Though its not the big ones coming around, tuna is tuna none the less. A shibi in the cooler is better than just ice in the cooler. Until next time, s...

Fishing For 3 Days Searching For Yellowfin Tuna!

My Fadah took off work for a week to go fishing. With the fishing forecast slow we still went out trying to find the Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna). Why? Well, everyday is a new day. Day 2 was epic and I will always remember that day! I'm super stoked about catching an Ahi on my own handcrafted lure head (still in development). But man, what an awesome feeling to get hit on something you created. Until n...

The Fish We Were Looking For!

During the summer in Hawai'i, almost every offshore fisherman wants to catch an Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna). Three months out of the year we specifically troll in search of them. However, they arrived pretty late this year. But I can't complain because we're grateful to finally be on the board for this season and land this fish. This was an action-packed day with Marlin and Tuna, one way to get a work...

    Nice. Looks like that sea anchor is doing a good job keeping you vertical! You're not in reverse or anything?

      The chute slows down our drift a lot. Giving us a slow enough speed to cover ground. Yeah we don’t have the motor in gear. Just letting the drift take us and starting the motor periodically to charge the batteries. Hope this helped!

    What sized jigs were you using for the akule? 20 grams?

    • @NSCYT
      @NSCYT 28 днів тому

      I use 30-60gram. But noticed 60gram might be the sweet spot. If you can find a slim 60gram jig, it goes down the water column fast enough since we in 120ft of water. But 40 grams works just as well. The only problem is that it goes down slower. Hope this helps!

    Traveling 36 miles for a fish. Great dude, in SC we do 60 mile runs just to get to the ledge. You make it seem like 36 miles is a big dangerous adventure or something. This is just the norm for us in SC to go wahoo, mahi or tuna fishing.

    • @NSCYT
      @NSCYT Місяць тому

      Well, in Hawaii it is an adventure. We rarely have nice enough days to head out this far. Normally you need a 25ft and up boat to comfortably head out during the “normal days” we are lucky enough in Hawaii to have deep drops of depth so close to shore. With our 19’ ft boat any chance we have for a chance to go out that far, chase some good fish away from the crowd it is always a treat.
