Was the chute extension your idea? Most of the Husvquarna newer snowblowers just have metal discharge chutes.
No… this one came with the extension. It has a couple of more lower down too. They seem to help with keeping snow from coming around and through the spaces between the sections of the chute.
Hi there nice clean good Husq love it (Ty
Thanks! 2nd season with it… still getting used to it.
One thing I do is put a strap on the gas tank and seat to hold up the track, makes it a little easier
That was the exact solution I came up with! Great minds…!
I got pod lights on my truck for off road use only but when these assholes in the newer vehicles with purple lights go by me I turn on those pod lights and blind the shit out of them back
Hahaha, awesome short 😂 and great choice of music!
Thanks! Be sure to share it!
Those were your daytime running lights and front fog lights?
On this truck the headlights and fog lights cause the green dash lights to come on. Daytime running lights don’t.
Hope this goes viral because improper high beam use certainly is
Thanks!
I felt like I was right behind you on my Trailfire. It was 1984… Great video!
I followed my dad on my Trailfire when I was younger! Spend a lot of time trying to keep up with him!
I love this sled. Watched all of the videos over the last few days. Would love to find a 79 liquifire because it’d be the same age as me
Thanks! Appreciate that! Although I hate to be the bearer of bad news… there were no ‘79 Liquifires. ☹️ They produced the 1978s and then redesigned the sled. Next production Liquifire was in 1980.
I love the 76-78 cyclone and liquifire. 79-84 they got ugly but we’re probably technologically better. I grew up with my older brothers having Deere sleds. I love em.
The 76-78s are my favorites too.
Papu Papu no se enoje Papu Papu por favor
I’m not angry, just disappointed in people who don’t take responsibility for their actions.
I lived my John Deere 350/S but gave up snowmobiling so my sons could play hockey.
We do what we have to for those we love. I didn’t have a machine for years because the kids came first.
Memories… even the engine sound was great.
I love the sound too!
This was a big machine back in the they. Liquid cooled from the snow or air. Nice souvenirs you bring me today.
I have to laugh at people saying they are heavy… not compared to today’s machines! Glad you liked the videos!
Love these videos. Currently looking for my first Liquifire . Picking up lots of useful tidbits that will help in the future.
Thanks! Good luck in your search!
The OEM bolt holding the lower gear on the shaft in the chain case, had a plastic button in the threads to act as a thread locker. If you don't have that bolt, or if the bolt threads in easily, you should use blue Loctite. After hanging out with the Deere factory racers starting 2007, we started Loctiting everything on their recommendation, or using castellated nuts on drilled bolts. Maybe overkill, but I know guys who have had the chain gear bolt come out, and the four suspension attaching bolts have been known to back out.
I knew about the suspension bolts backing out. Will dip back in and Loctite the gear bolt. Not looking like snow anytime soon, so I’ve got the time!
Without a doubt, the 78 LFs have a following. I myself have no interest in the Kawi powered models, I collect only the Kioritz powered sleds. So, that makes the 78 LF the top dog. There are collectors who feel the 78 LF was the best sled Deere built. It all depends on what criteria you want to judge them by, if you like the larger frame sleds, this is it!
I like the unique style… plus, it’s the model that I remember my dad riding the most. It was super reliable and lasted him for years.
I have done this job with sleds laying on their sides, it sucked. I have done it with the sled upside down on saw horses, it sucked a little bit less. However, the ones that were on their backs also were bare tunnels, so they weren't hard to flip over. Always a good job done, and to see them back on their feet!
It’s certainly not a job that I’d want to do often!
I rode a 83 liquid fire same thing just newer nice sled I worked on John Deere tractors all my life retired now
Nice! The ‘83 would probably have been a little lighter than the ‘78.
Great lookin' sled , bro. Good memories.
Thanks!
hey, the thumbnail for this video was in the NewBreed parts John Deere Sled Calendar.
Yes it was! My wife took the picture a couple of winters ago. Good thing she did… we haven’t had that much snow since.
@@DougTrevors same here, a few winters of almost no snow. by the way, if you check the next month after your photo, you'll see one of mine!
@@nybergsgarage nice! Awesome pic too!
@@DougTrevors thanks, here's hoping we get more snow for more pictures!
Fingers crossed! 🤞
I have a 76 440 cyclone that is a survivor.
If I didn’t have the Liquifire, the Cyclone would be next on my list.
Hey I have a 300, where did you get that beautiful track and the drive cogs from?
The cogs are original equipment. The track belts are original, but the grouser bars and the rivets are all replacements. When I got the machine more than half of the bars were worn through, so I had a local machine shop make up some replacements, then I went to work with a grinder and rivet gun.
Kawasaki motor I believe
John Deere put Kawasaki motors in the 1980-84 Liquifires. The 1978 and older ones had Kioritz motors.
Start it, drive it…we’d all like to see!
Eventually! We are just getting snow here now for this season. There are some videos of rides from previous years on the channel.
I haven't seen one that nice since 1979. Beautiful sled thanks for sharing
Thanks! My favourite sled model ever!
Bro im in winter right know its horrible
Great camera work!
Thanks!
Love the gnarlY GROWL of that marvelous machine!
It’s pretty good, isn’t it?!
The fireplace playing on the screen sold the look for me. 😊❤🎉
Thanks! Students love hanging out in the morning by the ‘fire’!
I had one, loved it, FAST.
They sure are!
What a view
It was a beautiful morning!
Probably some kind of tussock moth caterpillar.
Nice very nice
Thanks! My favourite JD snowmobile year and model.
@@DougTrevors I love john deere sleds
@@jeffcarine9108 if you haven’t seen them there are some other videos on the channel with my sled.
What’s your favourite thing about the beach? I have 2 things… the waves and leaving!
At the 18:30 mark, I don't remember that view when we went. Maybe we took a different approach. Great video, BTW!
There is a branch in the trail near the top… if you take the longer 1km trail you loop around and approach the lookout from the east. We took the ‘shorter’ route and climbed directly to the top over the rock fall and approached the lookout from the west.
This was an awesome way to spend the afternoon! We had the perfect day… not super hot and some haze and cloud to keep the temps down.
Is it a Dagger Moth caterpillar?
That’s what I was thinking.
So cute!
He really is!
What a view
So lucky to have this close to home!
I only know how beautiful they are. And the only name i know is Monarch?
Monarchs are huge! Had a couple in the garden this year!
Great Spangled Fritillary butterfly.
Two 🤔🤔
I like the optimism!
Fifteen!
Good guess! Afraid not!
I was off by a lot; good job!
Seven 🤔
@@kristentrevors6994 nope!
I can chill out at that dock all day. Its so beautiful.
It’s is really a beautiful spot! I could do the same.
Full trail hike video coming soon.
cue 'womp womp womp' noises.
Ha!
A great place to detour
Sure is! I’d never been there… Will definitely be back!
That's not a bee, that's a bumblebee, exactly like the music called. It's working so thorough though, that the first flower should smoke after the bumblebee finished.
Yes… was just going for a short title. Thanks!
