Watchers for the Son of Man
Приєднався 22 гру 2017
I am a Benedictine Oblate ( a Christian layperson consecrated to live as a Benedictine monk in the world). I was inspired to start a channel devoted to the prayer of the Psalms.
The Watchers for the Son of Man is a Christian movement open to all baptized Christians who seek to deepen their prayer lives by praying the Psalms in a spirit of watchfulness for Christ's Second Coming.
Christ said: " Watch and pray".
There is no obligation to sign up.
Simply follow the Watcher's Psalter according to your individual circumstances.

An Acapella setting of the NASB Psalm 11: 1995 The Lord a Refuge and Defense. For the choir director. A Psalm of David. 11 In the Lord I take refuge; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain; 2 For, behold, the wicked bend the bow, They [a]make ready their arrow upon the string To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart. 3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the rig...

The Lord’s Power and Dominion. 97 The Lord [a]reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many [b]islands be glad. 2 Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. 3 Fire goes before Him And burns up His adversaries round about. 4 His lightnings lit up ...

I love this bravery. I also have the shorter Christian prayer. I thought about getting the four volume set but it's just too much and too complicated. I don't have that much time either to pray everyday. This book has more than enough for me. I don't care if it's condensed and doesn't contain the full office of readings as long as the common prayers are there.
May The LORD bless all that you put your hands to... And may it all be for His Glory and Honor in Christ Jesus's Name The Lord Jesus Christ has delivered me from drug addiction, homelessness, abusive relationships, evil spirits (yes they're real) , sexual immorality, swearing, lying, stealing, laziness.. and even more. I give all the glory to Him. All praise and worship belong to God. He is real. He is bigger than any problem you face. He will meet you where you are at. Even right now. (Romans 10:13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Currently I'm experiencing a demonic attack. But I am standing on The Word of God which says I have authority over devils and we are commanded by Christ Jesus to drive/cast them out. So I'm will continue to drive them out in The Name of Jesus Christ. Friends I implore you to do the same. The devil doesn't want us thinking it's real. We have authority over it! All of them. Keep strong in The Lord. Jesus Christ is LORD to the glory of God The Father. I bless every reader of this comment in The Name of Jesus Christ
AMEN!
Your videos help me so much. God bless you.
You are so welcome! Thanks so much for watching. Pray for me.
@@WatchersfortheSonofMan you’ve been in my rosary intentions
@@viridianhughes219 thanks. Much appreciated 👍
Thank you, I hope you are better now in your life, especially in these darkest of times. With love from England.x
Thanks. Praying the Psalms helps a lot.
Thank you ❤
Only one Gospel: The Gospel of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of ELOHIM(gods). REPENT FALLEN ANGELS.
It sounds more catholic than jewish...don't you think? There's a video titled the original 3000 year old Melody of psalm 113 that d I ends more Jewish. ..at least to me
Thanks yes this Psalm tone is more Western but the Freigish scale or phrygiam dominant is the more Middle Eastern sounding one.
@@WatchersfortheSonofMan that's over my head ;)) Did you just agree with me? Your work is beautiful
@@redwoodsorel5173 yes I did. The last scale I used was "freigish" which is a middle eastern or Jewish scale still used today in Jewish worship. The first two were taken from Catholic tradition. So yes. You are correct. Thanks again. Please suggest if you want more music-based videos like this. I am trying to decide on which direction to take my channel to reach more people.
@@WatchersfortheSonofMan I can't speak for anyone else, but since suzanne Haik Vantoura discovered how to read the notes from the psalms, I'd live to hear some of them played.
@@redwoodsorel5173 there is a UA-cam channel on her work but I forgot the name. Her book "What Music in the Bible Sounded Like" is online. I used to have the pdf.
Looking for help with the responsorial psalms for extended Pentecost vigil that sound like this. Can you point me in the direction of a name or style of chant and chords to accompany it?
Sorry just saw your post. I will look around. As far as I know, you can simply chant the psalter using established Psalm tones or any you can create on your own. There is no set tone.
❤😂Gods love
Do you have sheet notation for the Jewish scale tones you have made? I’m not musically trained so I have no clue how to arrange the scale into a tone that would sound good, but I have always LOVED that sound and it would be amazing to apply it to the Psalms (which are of Hebrew origin anyway!)
I was greatly challenged in my work week during Holy Week, it was truly regrettable. I don’t think that is a coincidence either. I think in some cases the system of the world was established to distract followers of Jesus with its unGodly version of “holidays,” at least in my experience. This is so on point and it came at the right time. We should be keeping our vigil like you said, otherwise it turns dark & isolating pretty fast. You pretty much summed up my experience last week, and I’m sure many people are struggling with these themes. Thank you for reminding us of the solution. Glory to God & God bless you.
Happy Easter brother thanks for your channel . Christos Anesti !
Same to you! Amen!
What a beautiful thing to do
As a Oblate to get really good at doing The Divine Office.
I was led to read Matthew at the start of Lent. I also ordered the pocket Book of Psalms you suggested and was just going to start from the beginning. However, I’m wondering should I be finding comparable Psalms to what I’m reading in Scripture? For example, this morning it was Mt 8 (lepresy & centurion) meditating on power of faith & belief also the superior power of Christ, and then choosing a similar Psalm, say Psalm 27 Fearless trust in God? Am I being too rigid, am I overthinking? Or is it whatever deepens my prayer life and draws me closer to Him like you said? Feedback for your channel… it’s very helpful to know the distinction between praying with the Church(liturgy of the hours) vs private (Psalms). Didn’t put that together until today. Thank you! 😊 God bless you and keep you!
Thanks for your comment! I personally just pray the Psalms randomly when praying them along with Scripture reading. Example: I read Matthew 5 and then I might pray Psalm 150 or Psalms 1-4. It depends on how the Spirit moves me.
I am excited to know you ordered the pocket psalter. You may want to check out my schedule for praying the Psalms "The Watcher's Psalter" if you feel so inclined. It is linked to my videos on the "Watcher's Psalter". Thanks again for your feedback.
Very encouraging . With a busy family life it can be hard to retreat off to pray in quiet , but this inspires me to pray during the busy times - just ordered a copt of that psalter too!
Great work. This has come at just the right time as we enter lent . I will use this to re establish my prayers in lent which i have let slip 🙏

I sure do appreciate what you do for a musically and tonally challenged servant of the Lord. It's so much easier to catch and pick up on your tempo and tone to assist me in getting there. Thank you brother for doing these videos
Thanks for your positive feedback. This is exactly my aim: to write new and simple settings of Psalm verses for the people of God to sing throughout their days.
Thanks for your program 👍

Thank you Victor!
I like the idea of carrying a psalm with you throughout the day. And yes the lydian scale has a sound that goes well with being in awe of the Lord
3:25 is the start of the song. Really good stuff.
Short I go straight to the music and skip the intro from now on? Feedback appreciated.

Thank you Victor! First of all and most importantly- I needed that Psalm! I am also looking forward to the pdf - I’ve recently picked a guitar back up and what you are doing is perfect for where I am at musically.
Thanks so much for your encouraging words!
Glad I stumbled across this video.
Praise the Lord. Spread the word, please so the Word can reach more souls
Great wisdom here Victor . Many thanks for your efforts. I really feel the Holy Spirit at present guiding me to the realization you make here . The psalms being the crux of our prayer. As laymen , our best route has to be to take what we can from a psalm of the day during a set prayer time - and meditate upon this verse all day . Important I think to keep it short unless of course you have a photographic memory ( which I don't 😂). Praise God for the psalms
Your channel has given so much prayer " food for thought" for me. As i have had more children the set times of prayer for me have shortened and often now missed . Using these shorter psalm verses , sung and prayed aloud and in the heart are , i believe , the key to practising the presence of God and praying without ceasing. I intend to follow this series closely and incorporate this into my daily practice. Lovely when interspersed with the jesus prayer and rosary throughout the day. Bless you and family
I appreciate your kind words! ❤ Holy Spirit indpired me to put my musical training to work for the Lord and to make the Psalms more accessible to the laity.
Thanks Victor , your videos continue to inspire my daily psalm prayers 🙏
Happy to hear that! Thanks for your encouragement.
