We believe Northeast has a very different culture from the rest of India and it has to be celebrated and preserved, most importantly. We believe in responsible tourism, wherein both the tourists and the locals can be in a win win situation. The local culture and traditions shouldn't be mocked or ridiculed irrespective of one's personal views. Instead, due respect should be given to the village folks since they are simple people and know only to deal with simple matters. That's our motto.

Navneet, I think they are called Cicadas. But I am sure there are different types of sounds, so must be different insects too. Also, sometimes, there are loggers in the forest cutting trees with motors, some sounds might be that too. But I am not sure, man.

Well, it wasn't that great, but I wouldn't call it disgusting either. Being someone who is curious about snakes, this looked like an interesting place to be. Might not be the best place to experience snakes, at least, a convenient one.
