no leaf shutter. It has a focal plane shutter. Also, film advance is not manual. When film is loaded and the back closed, the entire roll is wound onto take up spool. As each shot is exposed, the film is wound by electric motor back into the canister. This is a unique approach that protects exposed frames in the event that the camera back is opened mid roll.
