What was the cost for this?
Nice job, and great explanation. Nice to see someone who understands what the capabilities of these systems are.
Also if you’re not using the MHK or a wired Mitsubishi controller you aren’t getting full variable capacity out of that outdoor unit.
@@timrob0420 This unit has a lot of intelligence built in, the coil control box communicates with outdoor unit and monitors refrigerant pressures, outdoor temp and has a discharge sensor in return. We’ve installed many with both MHK2 + Kumo cloud and Lennox E30 and S40 There’s pros and cons with both. In our experience the performance and comfort have being great and very similar both ways In this case having a good user interface with room sensors and and automatic humidity control from the thermostat and app were important Thanks for your observation!
It’s going to be a pain in the ass to change that cell on the air purifier in 2 years because of how close it is to that b vent
@@timrob0420 I see how it appears that way from the video angle, but it won’t be the case there’s a good distance between cover and flu and the lamp a lot is huger than the flu so it won’t be a problem to switch the lamp! Good observation tho! I’d have though the same thing if I didn’t see it in person
I want to jump on the hyper heat, how much will it cost me
@franco, how much does these cost for homeowners
@@derrickadade7879 it varies a lot from home to home and market to market as there are many factors, such as size, efficiency, scope of work, accessories, product line, time of installation and others This particular one 4 years ago was around $16k including utility rebates
@ thanks Franco, but why 4 years ago. You don’t mind telling me how much a 4 ton Mitsubishi hyper heat system will cost? With installation and everything. You’ve made my interest in Mitsubishi heat pump rise more after watching all your videos on gas furnace and Mitsubishi heat pump. Keep the videos coming.
Mitsubishi currently doesn’t offer a 4 ton size for single zone 1 to 1 systems. Largest is currently 3.5 ton however 4 and 5 tons should be coming mid to late 2025 with the new R454B refrigerant Also performing a proper heat load calculation to select size is really important, bigger isn’t better and most units are oversized! What market are you in? I could point you in the right direction I serve the Chicagoland as Mitsubishi Elite Diamond Dealer
@@FrancoBarbagallo1Long Island NY
@@derrickadade7879 a good start would be to book a free consultation in the Mitsubishi comfort website they’ll set you up with diamond dealers Before you meet with them id arm Yourself with a list of questions and info to make sure they know what they are doing At this point you’re right in the middle of the refrigerant transition and a lot of units for R410A are out of stock or hard to get so you may have to wait until the new R454B units become available, expect anywhere from 10 to 30% price increase for the new refrigerant units If you’re able to find current models in stock and a contractor you trust I’d jump on it if you find the right fit Good luck!
How much customer paid?
@@rogersamaniego7392 Keep in mind cost varies a lot depending on where you are in the country and what kind of contractor you work with. Here in the Chicago market this one was around $17k. This system qualified for the 25C tax credit of $2000
What was the total out of pocket??
Make sure you register the equipment for warranty the indoor coil will leak
I have the same thing but it's a straight cool unit and it's matched up with an AMANA AIR COMMAND AMVC 97 Gas furnace with polorized air filter by DYNAMIC air quality solutions.
Very nice
@@FrancoBarbagallo1 the only thing is we don't have the communicating thermostat but it's still good for the house and it's going on its third year of service and it's very reliable comparing the the single stage system that it replaced that had a bad TXV.
How does the defrost cycle work on your dual fuel system since you have a 2 stage gas furnace?
For this particular combination, this system is fully communicating and balance points can be easily adjusted from the touchscreen S40 thermostat We configured this one to run heat pump only and not allow gas furnace when outdoor temperature is 45F or above and to intelligently switch between heat pump and furnace as needed down to 25F and below 25F to go straight gas. Whenever the outdoor unit defrosts the furnace can take over if heating is needed The Lennox S40 communicating control is really cool’s for communicating heat pumps
Wait. What? Chicago winters are above 30 degrees 70% of the time? Seriously? I must have been thinking of the other Chicago. The one off the lake.
@@bills6946 Winter is being referred as all the days where heating is used in the Chicagoland area which are a lot of days The average seasonal mean temperature for winter in Chicago is 28.1°F. The average daily high temperature is around 30-38°F Temperatures can get a lot colder of course, but we break the heating season in total hours the vas majority of the total hours when heating will be used to some degree will be above 32F. Making this dual fuel solution and great option that will provide comfort and efficiency in mild and very cold days
Such great technology that is dumbed down by on non modulating indoor blower
Despite it not being perfect this combination is a terrific value for the investment, as you get in to inverter technology that works with any new or existing gas furnace and qualifies for substantial rebates and tax credits We get amazing feedback from our customers on this systems. Of course it can always be more advance or high tech but it comes at a cost Thanks for watching and commenting
nice video can you tell me how much I can charge to the customer to replace two 24000 air handler and one condenser 48000 Btu Mitsubishi hyper in up state new York?
I wouldn’t know pricing can vary drastically market to market and home to home and depending on the level of service and guarantee provided This project was about 28k in 2023 in Chicago suburbs including utility rebates Unfortunately prices are on a non stop climb
Thanks Franco
At what outside temperature it will switch to furnace
You manually set the change over temperature usually in the thermostat configuration settings. Increments of five degrees.
For this particular system the outdoor unit comes preset to switch over to gas heating when the outdoor temperature falls to 32F or under or when the heat pump can’t keep up with thermostat setting regardless of outdoor temperature.
why do you have your gauges and amp meter on the unit an not your laptop connected with Maintenance tool (MT)? Maybe the gauges are on there because you just completed adding the trim charge??? Did you do a Mitsubishi start-up? I can guarantee you that system will need added refrigerant even without calculating line set length my guesstimate would be 3lb add approximately 2-4lb for the line set (guesstimate from experience but why a DSB is needed. Your computer with MT will tell you the pressures and temp of the senses in the condenser and indoor units. This applies if in the USA if not Please disregard: please say you built this system on DSB because a 1 hour recording on MT submitted through your DSB is how you get the 10 year warranty or 12 years if you're a Diamond Dealer. Friendly questions from your Mitsubishi DSG
dude you are wrong, those units precharged for 250 feet of lineset. And its NOT commercial type of citi multi, computer not needed
This video was taken just before completing for demonstration. Another technician (our Mitsubishi supervisor) returned later in the day to perform a final calibration, testing and adjustments. About 5lb of refrigerant were added during final inspection. Customer got a 12 year guarantee on parts and labor from us Since installation we have returned once for a connectivity issue with wifi on the kumo cloud but everything was working great (homeowner got a new router and disabled 2.4ghz WiFi band)
Amps mean nothing. We pay by the watt 🤦♂️ I stopped watching after that.
@@papapapist amps x volts = watts. 6.9x230 = 1587w. Super efficient? its 4 ton unit. Its 2 air handlers inside. Stupid Goodman analog consuming over 4000w
It can be adjusted, but default balance point is 32F to switch over
what temp does furnace kick on
By default is present at 32F outdoor temperature, however this can be adjusted down Balance points will vary drastically from building to building depending on how well insulated and air tight home is and on how sizing was designed and how much airflow ductwork can handle
What’s your house sq feet? How it’s running now ? Which state u at ?
This is a clients home, in Chicago suburbs. This home was about 2300 sq ft and it’s running great
