10 Horror/Sci-Fi Movies from the 1970s
Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter is a great film but unfortunately was filmed during Hammer's Studio end.
It’s practically a documentary nowadays. Two house husbands flee their feminized society and try to make it on 1970s Earth. Their planet could almost be 21st century Earth.
Ahh, the good old days when I was a teen.
A high camp Euro pudding.
All made as tax dodges..
In the words of the song I lost my heart to a star ship trooper ❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹💥💥💥
👍🏻👍🏻💛👍🏻👍🏻
Wow...I can gladly say I have never seen ANY of these....movies. I've seen better acting in an elementary school production of Shakespeare...
"Star Virgin" a.k.a. "Star Maiden," possibly easier to find
I think this compilation of movie clips is very nice.
I saw “Flesh Gordon” on a double bill with “Galaxina” in 1982. Those were the days when films like this could ONLY be seen in a theater.
Many of these were shown at the midnight movies on military bases.
Spooky haunted cars, but forgotten horror movie.
I thought I'd seen all of the British Sci-fi series but this is a new one on me!
Well, it wouldn't have been the 1970s without sexploitation, it was part of all that sexual revolution thing. Censorship became very lax, and people weren't as uptight as they were in previous generations.
There's a helluva lot of them; more than I had imagined.
Yes- the drive-in movies!
Never heard this audio before. The words, "Get that chopper out of the way." Did make it into the pilot episode of the Six Million Dollar Man.
"Cinderella 2000 is something new and different. You have not and will not see any other movie like ..." How true those words are. Cinematic sci-fi is dead as studios are terrified of taking risks and audience enjoyment is now forbidden.
Notice these are all 1973-1980? Gee….you think we were bored?
I remember when I was a child, I watched a wonderful movie in a cinema in my city, called "The Leaders of Atlantis", I remember how the scientist was put on a helmet made of eryshtal and he saw the future of Terra with wars, conflicts andnatural disasters, I thought about if humanity does not destroy itself, then nature 😢 🥈 will do it, sad ending, does it really have no way out?
Where can i find these excellent movies, 😂
I hesitate to think what was going on among the cinema seats while these films were playing..
Barbarella plugged into that clever little machine will be a picture I grew up with.
Dr Flexi Jerkoff!
Great film! Didn't know there was this behind the scenes footage! Notice they never explained why people who lived their whole lives in the US have British accents ;-p
Oh wow what’s her age now
Hmm starting to like some AI
This was the peak of film making, fantastic stuff😂💯✌️
As really bad as most of them were and how terrible the acting even a highly censored version is better than the woke Disneyverse.
More profitable too.
This is in the top five BEST COMMENT ever. Thanks.😂
Got Spaced out and it is a thoroughly enjoyable (and daft) film. Sadly only on DVD
4:32, "no pollution"? How did they possibly make all those metal, plastic, fabric, building materials, etc... without any industry, mining, petrol, etc.... That's some imagination. And, a massive hydro-electric power plant, the environmentalists gotta luv that. Apparently, the EPA was abolished by then, thank God! THUMBS DOWN! I only learned how warped the producers were in explaining the premise of this film. Also, the "thumbnail"? Where? What? etc....
I saw Flesh Gordon while in Navy bootcamp in 1976
Okay, back then, they had to have a plot - no matter how stupid or corny - to be classified as "Adult Entertainment" and be allowed in theaters and be sold via mail-order. Otherwise they were classified as "Pornography", which couldn't be shown in theaters and couldn't be sent through the US mail. I think, if I dig deep enough into my boxes of old college junk in the basement, I might have copies of most of those . . . on Betamax 😢
Homely women plus zero budget = perfection
Saw "Girl From Starship Venus" in early 90s. Found it in a local video store when VHS was still big. Pretty good, had some cute, sexy moments.
😂😂back when we looked forward to the future😅😅now we just want to get back to the past.
I enjoy listening to Harlan, and I've enjoyed the stories he'd authored that I've read, but that was 30 years ago when I was a teenager/young adult. Upon re-reading, his stories are a bit simplistic and obvious, definitely the product of an opinionated unapologetic egotist; I think short-man-syndrome surely coloured his views.
Such a fine series! It was a novelty before we had serialized tv novel sci-fi shows in the USA and Canada in the 90s.
Ya Gotta love those Penisouris' , Emperor Wang's "Royal Flush" and the Rapist Robots. Did anyone else notice that the monster at the end of the movie looked a hell of a lot like LBJ?
Iconic, Lt Ellis, purple 💜 beautiful 😍
I have the VS dvd of Star Virgin; it's actually a pretty entertaining scifi film
I saw Flesh Gordon at the local cinema. Unfortunately, it has never been shown on TV!
A number of "Flesh Gordon" effects crew ended up working on Star Wars, and part of Lucasfilm down the road....
I saw it at the Amityville theater, Amityville N.Y. in 1974 & liked it a lot, but never saw it again! Believe it or not, when I was 5, in 1951, I appeared on a T.V. show hosted by Buster Crabbe, (the real Flash Gordon) so I wanted to see this version, because of that!
It actually was, in Canada, on CITY-TV, circa 2000 to 2003.
It's been on TMC, aka The Movie Channel.
Logan’s Run - yowza!
I know i helped pay for the film in 1972. I was a young teenager then. Loved the movie.
... aaaand the search is on!!!
Caroline Munro is proof that I will watch any movie with Caroline Munro in it!
Love to have a copy of Flesh Gordan but I hear that the DVD is really low quality and chopped up really bad.
Of all the films listed, Flesh is the only one i've seen. 🤓
I remember when I was in high school flesh Gordon was like the holy grail. Everyone knew about it but no one had it
