Shine on Brightly - Procol Harum Tribute Band
I got into school trouble because of these guys. What? 1966-67? We were all packed into the auditorium, naturally I broke out my AM transistor radio (a banned item, and there was no FM radio in those days) and put it to my ear with the volume down low. No sound! Dead battery? I raised the volume to see and immediately realized my mistake... I could hear all sort background noise from distant stations. The station I was tuned to (WKDA) just wasn't saying anything. Then there was a sudden loud blast of a song that got everyone's attention... including the wrong kind of attention. I had turned on the radio in the middle of the Rascal's hit song, "Good Lovin.'" Those old enough to know will remember that the song had a silent interlude of a couple seconds before it resumed with "GOOD LOVIN!" I had the volume on high when the song resumed! I won't forget that... neither will my behind because those were the days when principles and even teachers could beat you almost unconscious with pieces of hardwood flooring they called "paddles."
…. people can’t clap in time….. there is no entertainment in this ….
The soulful voice of Felix Cavaliere - for years I thought their music was done by a black singer. 😮
So embarrassing. 08:05
Three nice Italian boys from Jersey plus a Canadian. They were terrific.
A TERRIFIC AND VERY POPULAR BAND. HAD THE PLEASURE OF SEEING THEM BACK IN THE DAY IN THE PHILLY AREA. UNFORGETTABLE!!!
Chris this is Michael fraioli anyway u have any video or tape with my father playing
Eddie was the one who was missing
The good old day's.😢
A Girl like you,my all time favorite song,Absolutely love it!
Gene looks great. He always looked out of place in the 60’s Rascals.
Best Rift on Good Loving ❤
❤
Yay Gene
Saw them at The Barge club near the Hamptons LI in '64,before they signed with Atlantic
For years and years we woke up with a beautiful morning and our son continued in this inspiring tradition.
She needs bigger shoulder pads.
❤❤❤❤😅
This is a great song and should have won the contest for that particular show! I really wish the track was available for purchase.
RIP Dino.
Dino brought to you by Reebok lol
The singer is not convincing
Rip dino
One ,of the Best and most Talented groups. It's, a shame how they self destructed.
Dino a great drummer but he doesn't seem to have aged as well as the other 2. Felix still looks great.
Dino was not only a great drummer, but he had style, too. It surprised me when I learned Felix had classical training.
I LOVE THE RASCALS ❤ Dino is the best drummer ever!
John Bonham eat your heart out 😅
I LOVE THE RASCALS ❤ Dino is the best drummer ever!
Dino died of congestive heart failure on December 15, 2022 at age 78. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I ran into Felix accidentally one day renewing his driver's license in White Plains NY on Central Av. in 1968 at the height of their popularity. He was well groomed and wearing a camel hair overcoat.
Maybe a dumb question, but is this the same Billy Fraioli of Fraioli Music, originally of Port Chester, New York and then Greenwich, Connecticut?
😎WHITTIER HIGH 1967! 👍🏴☠ GOOD LOVIN FILMED IN UPTOWN WHITTIER and WHITTIER HOSPITAL ! Memories!🥀
1988-40 = ?? Oh the fortieth ann of the record co. I was like wtf
I cannot believe this was taped 34 years ago. And it's still fresh as ever.
If I never hear "Good Lovin'" again it'll be too soon, but I really dug the Rascals and never get tired of their music. It would have been nice to have seen Eddie here.
I still don't understand what the dispute is among them. I have enjoyed their music, though!!
@@twistoffate4791 I'm with you. A great band with a string of really solid recordings. Was there heavy internal strife? Did the band feel that they did all they can do? Each one of these men has more than enough talent to have had a good career on their own, away from "The Rascals". As a group they were killer.
Too soon? I could hear it every day. It's a great song!
Fantastic interview! Too bad Eddie was not there!
Eddie had a grudge against Felix. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@arthurmurfitt7698 all of the original rascals patched up their differences before Dino danelli died. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Too bad Eddie wasnt there, jhe is the voice of the Rascals..
Seem like nice and entertaining guys. From my generation. Good Lovin' is a song I play (poorly he he). Thanks for the music gentlemen.
Luved the way they understood and stood up for SOCIAL JUSTICE💞🙏🏿
Where’s Eddie?
Awful
I was a kid when I first heard their songs, I thought they were a black band.
Beautiful Morning Is. A Beautiful Song Ever Written.
The Rascals are so cool. Regis not so much
Fuck Regis (Old Rascals), dumbass comment that sounds vile while Gene, Dino and Felix sound dignified.
How did you do that. Joe
Master Musicians, very proud fan for 55 years, love the music of Felix, Eddie, Dino and Gene
I was 23 years old in 1988, when this interview took place, and I will turn 57 shortly. I just finished Steve Van Zandt's autobiography, and he was partially responsible for getting The Rascals into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, and did their intro on that day. He said they got into it before they went on and he had to talk them into putting their differences aside to accept their award. I still don't know what the issues were that caused the dispute. But oh well, their music is terrific and that is the good that folks will remember.
I saw them that year, June 1988.
Yes also here. They were real Good ,not quite the same. In N.Y.
In their heyday, I saw them live three times, maybe four. They were SO GOOD! The drummer could do anything. Two best bands I ever saw were Led Zeppelin and the Young Rascals.
Yes,indeed .They set the stage for so many .So to speak. Also seen them in their prime many times. Nobody came near them.
I am envious! Never got to see either of these bands live. My husband and I got tickets for Zeppelin in 1977. In a rotten turn of events, Robert Plant's son suddenly died and the remaining tour was canceled. How awful that had to be for them. I loved both bands :(
C'mon, Regis, you couldn't wheel out a Hammond B3? Well, I'll take The Rascals any way I can get 'em.
When you have the Rascals on your show, at least put a drum set and a guitar and amplifier next to the piano, and throw in a union bass player. "Good Lovin" was not a good choice for this kind of setting.
It was '88, shows sucked back then just like the cars.
@@juniormint3136 You are so right. Crappy cars started in the mid to late 70's and that remains one of my pet peeves. I had no problem with land yachts and my daily drivers are two intermediate sized 77 station wagons.
Exactly what I was thinking. This is embarrassing even seeing it in 2022. Have no idea how the three of them let it happen.
@@Ram-by2gz It's embarrassing only because Felix invited Regis & Joy to join in and they choked.
@@mitchgawlik1175 I'm just guessing you never heard the Rascals live. One of the greatest groups ever and maybe the best live act ever. So what do they do have 2 of them without instruments that's nuts. Playing Good Lovin with just a piano is nuts. Gene's rhythm guitar is essential and Dino is one of the greatest drummers ever looking like who knows what tapping on the piano. Like I said before I don't know why the 3 of them let that happen. Regis and Joy did join in but I that sure didn't help.
