Had a C55 as my first car from 2012-2015. I was 16 year, it was lords of fun! These are very very cool Mercs.

That car has had an interesting history. Assembled in Bremen, finished at Affalterbach, sold in Japan, and then imported to Namibia.

Everything you hate is just a cosmetics issue, not a big of a deal, you can fix with mods and tune.

The smile on your face at the very end says alot :-) in all honesty for the age that car is in good shape, why did you remove the secondary air pump? Even though the CLK 63 is a good looking and more powerful car for the same money, they are prone to some major mechanical and pricey maintenece items. Headbolts breaking is a common problem and cam adjusters too, both unavoidable.

Sit in a new Mercedes and listen to the creaks and rattles. This was one of the best built C Classes ever. Way ahead of its time. We have a 2004 C220 cdi and it has no rattles. 320,000kms. It doesn't have flaws like the new ones do.

I had to get my car a new computer according to Mercedes the computer goes out every so often, new computer was around $3k my car has a little more miles though. Awesome car though

You will need lots of work and money to restore this car based on the video (painting, engine light on, light bulbs out, interior is in terrible condition, the wood is in horrible shape and is difficult to find replacement, headlights, suspension, engine, and the list goes on). Unfortunately, most of these W203s are in awful shape and few remain in pristine condition and are expensive to maintain if not properly taken care of. The C55 is a rare vehicle which will be desired in the next 10 years within Mercedes Benz collector circles due to its rarity, V8, etc. However, the lack of pristine models will make it even more difficult and pricier to acquire one. You have one in decent condition but needs tons of work to restore to OEM condition. It would be a shame to see another C55 wasted.

Mine is a last year production so 2008 albeit a c280. Suffice to say it has non of the issues you mention, perhaps it’s because it’s the facelift model. I keep looking for 2007/8 model car but sadly production for the c55 was finished in 2006 phase 1 model.

Do you prefer m113k or m156?

Biggest issue is the rpm like you said but it is a sports car my bmw would rev just as high going 100 mph and the fuel economy driving at highway speeds is poor but overall very nice car

Nice car, almost impossible to find one in such good condition here in germany. most are very rusty and neglected. problem with the issues, even it was a very expensive car, it is a mercedes from the era with the lowest quality because of cost cutting everywhere. and after all, it's just a c-class. i own a W220 S500 of this era and even the s-class is a disappointment in resepct of material quality. but the M113 is rock solid. btw. i have to do the same paper thing because of rattling and droning.

Brother you need to learn voice techniques and get your voice fixed because you have some real problems with your voice box. Unless you were in a fire, your voice should not be sounding the way it does. What gives? Can you please let me know if you have had a problem in the past? I am not making any accusations toward you. I just am a pro vocalist and extremely disturbed by what I’m hearing in your voice.

Hi, If you want your gearbox to be faster they sell solenoids costing around 400 dollars that increases gearshift speed in addition to overlap control valve to avoid harsh, bumpy, or flare shifts that costs 68 dollars.

I have a CLK55 . I suggest you replace the crank position sensor if it has never been replaced . They will all fail eventually. Also check your front stabiliser bar drop links and the front torsion control arm for bushing wear . Oil cooler seals , valve cover gaskets/breather covers are all normal 15 year maintenance items. I like the M113 , for peace of mind , the most reliable , easiest to service and fairly economical AMG you can buy.

Greetings from S.A. The C55 is seen by many enthusiasts as THE most reliable AMG. seldom have any issues, totally under rated. The M113 engine is also one of the best V8s produced in the AMG range. The M156 engine in the C63 is an amazing beast of an engine (Edition 507) but comes with many issues in the way of camshaft wear, valve lifters etc. If you are on a budget stick to the C55. Compared to the C63 they never give problems just make sure the car gets its regular servicing. Please do early servicing especially if you drive the car in a spirited fashion. After ten years of ownership my C55 has only been a joy to drive. Smile wise the C63 is the one, mile wise the C55 is the one in my opinion. And yes on my best behaviour I could only manage 23k kms on the rear tyres.

Also I have one in silver sitting in my driveway and I just cleaned it today and it looks awesome 👌 I bought it cheaper because it had a check engine light on and by replacing the mass airflow sensor and vacuum pipes it solved the problem and also I replaced the discs and pads and its my first mercedes and by far my most favourite car
