Freak Accident - Swimming The English Channel Solo - Chris' Story

What happened on the first attempt was a freak accident. The prop shaft sheer'd off the engine. We did not hit rocks or get caught in anything like we thought at first.

Here's a little video of my 8 mile swim in Torbay while I'm prepping for the English Channel this August. It was cold, 14-15C water temperature, but great prep! Well done to the RedTop guys, Tanya, Amaury, Brian, Juliette, Sara and Henry to took on the challenge.

This year has been a crazy journey. I've been pushing my body through extremes while trying to raise £25,000 for Dreams Come True children's charity. Not forgetting pulling off a wild publicity stunt with my friend Alex when we took a London Boris Bike around the world. This video was made for Virgin Money.

It's easy to choose a big charity with a huge marketing budget, however I'd rather know exactly where the money is going and directly who will benefit from this challenge. How much swimming experience did you have beforehand? How long did the training take?

impressive, you guys that accomplish this challenge are my absolute heroes. Only 7 Italians made it in the History, i dream to be in the first ten to swim it.

His bloody arm gets bloody caught in the bloody boats prop ripping his arm completely bloody off, he swims on with one arm and a bloody dislocated shoulder

£2.20 a hour, how much will he be charged
Actually every 30 mins after the initial free 30 minute period and It's just a flat 300pound fee if you don't return it 24 hours. So at that point you can pretty much keep it.
