I learned to fly helicopters at BC Helicopters in Abbotsford / Vancouver, Canada. I have mainly flown the Guimbal Cabri G2 and Schweizer 300 CB. I have also flown the Robinson R44, Robinson R22, Bell 47, and Bell 505 Jet Ranger X. My channel is all about helicopters.

Nice landing...!
Nice
Hello Mr. Bacon Torque. I watching your video reminded me of the time I did a cross-country flight from CVO to the PDX helipad. From Japan.
The instructor did not realize that the student's stick grip is too on the tip. It's dangerous.
Can a thick fog hydrolocks hellicopter engine??
No, but fog is dangerous to fly into because of the loss of visual cues for flying
Overspeed on Heli's is one of the coolest sounds in the world.
Where is the location? I have fond memories of training on the R22 in Crvallis, Oregon 31 years ago. My first solo flight was drenched in sweat. Ahaha····· My instructor was an of ARMY instructor, and he taught me how to fly in a way that would not be taught in normal training. He gave me a very valuable experience. Thank you very much. From Japan.
Nice stuff man, love your vids and Robinson helis
flew FAYQ with Sancho a few days ago, just amazing the whole team at BC helicopters great people highly recommended!! 👌🤙 Will love to fly that 505!! Nice music 🎶
They don’t mess around when you ask them to clear a landing area for you!
Fantástico.
plus robbie's are death traps .. 505 all the way
FANTÁSTICO, celular para llamadas
Is this hard to get hover right?
easy
رائع
Will need to wrap it different colors of course..and balance blades
You guys remind me of scene in the Omega man. Get those masks on. So silly 😂
are u training for commercial?
I already have my commercial license, this was just for fun
Pretty sick!
Man, I wish the Army had bought these!! 😤
Nice view of the river. Great 🚁.
Is there a full video of this?
I didn't post it yet but soon
@@bacontorque nice can't wait

How does the 505 jet ranger x handle compared to other similar class helicopters you’ve flown? Does the more available power come in handy for you landing at higher altitudes? Thanks!
Compared to the Robinson R44 the controls are much nicer because they are less sensitive and the Jet Ranger feels more solid but overall it is pretty similar. I don't have too much experience flying either though.
@@bacontorque thanks!! Hope one day I can get one, far off from it now but it’s a goal. I do appreciate the feedback about controls being less sensitive because that’s the main thing I noticed on the Robinson myself. Keep it up and post more content, subbed and will be watching :)
I see the Canada registration... I'm legit trying to decide between a private license for a small aircraft or a helicopter... what did it cost roughly to get a heli license? From my quick research im getting like 90k for a R44....I'm in Ontario but I assume this is in BC... still curious? 😊 Solid landing btw
Heli license should be a minimum of 100 hours at $600 per hour, so $60,000 CDN - but if you do some time in an R44 or turbine or get some extra hours it would be more. R44 could be in the $900/hr range and Bell 206 could be in the $1300 range.

Very cool!
Oh yeah…helos do take off run just like fixed wings aircraft, no doubt !
My dream job

You are flying over a scenic spot. The fixed wing captain's seat is on the left. The captain's seat of the ROTER WING is on the right. I remembered that I flew while checking the flight plan with my left hand. I remembered going cross country training in Corvallis Oregon in 1993. It is good memory. Where are you flying? Is the aircraft a Gabri G2? From Japan. Thank you.
Yes a Cabri G2, near Vancouver BC Canada
Thank you for your reply. Last year when I went to Corvallis, Gabri G2 was there. It's a very cool helicopter. I like small and medium sized helicopters. Vancouver is relatively close to Oregon isn't it? Iove flying in the countryside. I also love landing in natur. Canada is also a country rich in nature. I've wanting to go Canada for someday. I would like to wanting for aurora. The music of San Francisco is also great. Please fly safely. Thank you very much. From Japan.
I bet I could still do it50 years later !
bucket list
DO it
Love the Jet Ranger. Flew OH-58 for the Army in West Germany-only engine failure I had was in a -58. The inertia in Bell blades was phenomenal and no damage on landing. Bell aircraft are the best.
Tbh the Bell 505 is nice but the Bell 206 has soul 😊❤👍

Hey sir! Old grunt that's dropped out of a few egg shaped craft. I love you, Grunt to Fling Wing Jedi. My question: Would you own an MD500? (My little vet tech biz is gonna need in and out mission aviation)
@@RowdyGrunt First, thank you for your service. As with all things aviation, depends on the mission. The MD500 is more agile than the Jet ranger but the Bell blades have a lot more inertia in the rotor system. Of course that matters most in case of autorotation and can be a disadvantage while waiting for the blades to spool down. The ‘egg’ is a lot more crash resistant than the ranger but hopefully that will not a needed feature. I found the Bell rotors made for an easier bird to fly. The Hughes OH-6 (only version I’ve actually flown) to be a lot more sensitive and responsive. The Army didn’t use stability augmentation systems (they had pilots for that) so that for a long mission day the -6 was a lot more fatiguing than the -58. Stab-Aug systems make a big difference here so that is something to be considered. The -6 was faster and could use a slightly tighter landing zone. If you (or your pilot) are relatively new to rotor wings I’d recommend the Bell. If you have plenty of rotor wing time, you might prefer the ‘sports car’ feel to the MD. Fly both before buying and check out the fatigue level as in truth that could easily be the biggest buy factor assuming both birds will fit the mission requirements.
@@captbart3185 well, a Bell is like an old Mercedes.... reliable, easy to fly but sluggish....😁😁😁
Cyxx!

That would be like comparing a Maserati with a Toyota. The R44 has made vertical flight within reach for the common man and is the most popular civilian helicopter.
Yes,not a miata mirage
Oh wow! That must be the feeling of a lifetime. Good Luck
Loved the bird eye view 😍
No
Nice bird. 🚁
Since you are taking on mountainous terrain, I'm guessing you are flying the turbocharged -3B version.
