On July 29th,2024 CN 3115 led CN M315 south into Calgary. 3115 is one of 5 CN heritage units that were painted to honor the railroads that make up modern day CN. 3115 is painted to pay respects to BC Rail, who CN bought out in 2001. On July 13th,2024 CP 5766 leads a westbound CWR train westbound on the Brooks sub into Calgary. I made my way out there to catch them, and chased them back into town. do you know why some of the old striped CP units have a red and white pattern on the back while others have a black and white pattern on the back? i figure it has something to do with the black and white patterned ones having the multimark still painted on em.
The units with red and white stripes are in CPs action red paint scheme. This scheme was first adopted in the late 60s and early 70s. The units with black and white stripes are in the multimark paint scheme first used in the mid 70s.
