I think they need a trade, they have both guards out….The 2 backups are inconsistent, but Dinwiddie is actually solid off the bench when healthy…. I was saying they should inquire about D’Angelo Russell… But also they should readjust the system right now, play some triangle or off ball motion offense with Kyrie & Luka out.

Seems odd that the team that initiated the fight gets the technical free throw and the ball back. As for fans happy Luka is out, it's less about Luka being out and more about getting our bench involved more to build cohesion and give those guys minutes. I really hope Luka is back when I get to see the Mavs in Detroit.

Luka needs to take the offseasons OFF. He's playing way to much. Staying hurt at that age, 26, means he's not letting his body heal. It's going to shorten his career drastically

Obi Toppin would be perfect. He can stretch the floor vertically. Hes an averge to above average shooter. Hes on a good contract and he could be relatively cheap to get. Maxi + Exum + first round pick. The Pacers have to pay Myles Turner next year so thats why they might be looking to cut salaries. The Pacers aquired Obi for 2 second round picks, so getting a first round back could be seen as a succesful investment.

We have no need at all for DoeDoe. Unless it’s just a dump or some kind of deal we fleece than on. He is an insanely stationary player on offense and his defense while with the Mavericks was negligible. He is a good connective piece defensively that can work as a team defender but doesn’t have any kind of athleticism that leads to not being able to hang 1 v 1.

Just so you know Herb is one of the KD types on height. My brother went to school at Alabama when he was there and I’m 6 3”. I would say he’s almost 6 9”.

Klay will not agree to come off the bench. He came to Dallas because they guaranteed him a starter spot... I'd love to see Herb on the Mavs but that's not a feasible thing at this moment imo. There are other options out there worth exploring.

Herb Jones or Aaron Nesmith. Either of the two is perfect in sf spot and will complete the Mavs starting lineup. They can guard 1 through 4 at a high level. Other prospect like DFS will just add to depth and who knows if they're even gonna play if the team is fully healthy.

Jones is a Guard/SF. Who are you going to sit so you can play him? Kyrie? Grimes? Thompson? Marshall? 48 minutes a game and you think putting a non-scoring defender in an already crowded lineup will solve a problem? And no.....he CAN NOT play PF or Center. Did you see DJJ try to guard Lively yesterday? It was laughable. Boston is 6'10/6'11/7'3 across their PF/Center positions. OKC is 7'2/6'11 across theirs. Phoenix is 7'0/6'11. Denver is 6'9 (and incredible jumper)/6'11 (and BIG). T-Wolves are 6'10/7'3. You put a 6'6 guy with "Long arms" on one of them and they're going to destroy him in the post (and we already know he's not an offensive threat). People have got to give up on this Herb Jones infatuation. We already had him and his name was DJJ. He gave us 7ppg against the Celtics (after playing like shit against the Clippers, OKC, and the T-Wolves) and an injured Luka had to try to carry him. No winning team can afford to have a non-scorer as a starter, especially an undersized one trying to guard bigger players. BTW, you brought up Durant (at 7'0) as someone he could guard (and potentially shut down). The last time the Pelicans played the Suns with Durant, he scored 20 and better than 50% shooting. Booker had 52. The time before that Durant had 26. Booker had 52. This year they played when Durant was out and Booker only scored 28 (and Beal had 24). Who exactly did he guard? Research helps....

I would love to see Herb Jones in MAVS, but I don't think we can get him. And like someone already said we just can't trade our role players, they've been too valuable this season. We had so many injuries and so far we couldn't see a decent streak of games with complete roster playing together. I'm truly happy with the MAVS roster this season, we just need a bit luck for the guys to be healthy and we will be fine. I don't want to loose Grimes, Gaff, Naji, Klay or Spencer. Kai, Luka, Pj and Lively should obviously be locked. Herb Jones would be perfect though... I believe MAVS will finish this season 2nd or 3rd and there is a big chance we can have the same finals as it was last year. And if we would came that far, we will need someone like Herb Jones.

NOOOOOO. If we’re getting a maxi replacement and upgrade on a bargain then the only logical answer LARRY NANCE JR. If we’re gone go all out using our pics and movable players then the one player I keep saying that NOBODY is mentioning is not only a pelican who’s value is in the basement, but he’s also a perineal allstar in different situation and that’s Brandon Ingram. Brandon Ingram would be the starting 4, which would make us even deeper with PJ off the bench. The pelicans don’t want BI and nobody seems to want him either. We can buy low, give up all the movable assets if needed and the dynasty will be locced with this roster. BI ca play small ball 5, defend the perimeter and the paint , shoot the 3, put the ball on the floor, make the right pass and he’s used to not being the first or second option. The starting line up would be Luka, Kai, Klay, BI, Lively Spence,QG,Naji, PJ, Gafford 2 LETHAL 5 man lineups and the only team on that level would be the Celtics who are more top heavy and not as deep as us. I can’t think of another team who be able to say that 1-10 are all starting caliber players on a contending teams. The brandon Ingram pic is my pipe dream and it’s relative to what we’d have to give up to get him. If it’s as low as I think then of course, but if not the Larry nance is still a perfect option to bac up pj and up grade maxi. We’re still arguably the deepest team in the league and having Larry be the consistent option where maxi has not been would push us over the top either way. Like aren’t we tired of saying thing like every person in the line up scored double digits except maxi? Or everyone was hot from 3 except maxi? Larry fixes that easily, especially with as many facilitators this team has. You don’t get 9 double figures without having a lot of people who can make the right pass. Larry will only add in spades where maxi takes is a deficit….. So Larry nance for the bargain piece that solidifies us, or Brandon Ingram as the piece that could create a dynasty. Both are players that are wasting away in their franchises

herb or cam johnson would be amazing are one the less likely side. DFS to me is the main target we should go after (only if we can get him cheap tho since hes an expiring contract) . Id let maxi, omax, and hardy for herb in a heart beat and whatever picks. But no key rotational guys like qgrimes, gafford, or dinwiddie. obi toppin and larry nance are some other guys to look at as well
