I've had these on my bike for over 4 months now after a friend of mine recomended them to me. I pointed out this issue to him and he advised me technicaly that it was fine and will not cause any issues or damage!. Now, my mate is race car engineer with more than one PhD in engineering and works as a race director in the Australian Supercars championship. He is well trusted as a engineer and knows his stuff. He helped develop the Ford Mustang race car with Ford Performance USA. I say this as he is no back yard mechanic. If people want to try this go for it and see how it feels for you. IMO
I just want people to be aware of the fact that the bottom clamps only clamp halfway. And sellers of these extensions should inform their buyer's too. There was only one seller of these extenders in Europe, in the UK. After a few months he suddenly didn't sell them anymore, I wonder why... And there isn't a single motorcycle manufacturer that would approve them.
1 year - 20k kms later here i am still running the fork extenders without any issue.
Good for you. I hope you tell your buyers that they extend the forks by 40 mm, not 25 mm as in the original description.

I absolutely believe we live on a sphere, but we need to know that the surface of the road is the same elevation above the water for its entire distance and that it's not merely a "hump". Again, I believe this video is a true representation of the earth's curvature, but there needs to be more proof beside the video itself.
I removed all my "flat earth" links but I used to have a topographical map of the construction which showed that the height above sea level was the same over the entire length. There's images of Hillhouse and Habitat below the horizon when viewed from the same location, so odds are that's just refraction. Gail and Gilda are distorted to hell and definitely partially below the horizon. Grace isn't faring much better.

Hello, Have you figured out any way to securely mount those nice cnc fork extenders? Isn't it the case that the double screws on the clamps are there to prevent the forks from being pushed upwards? When using these extenders, the fork has no way to get up. I'd like to know your point of view on this. Regards
My point of view is that the designers of those extenders did a bad job. There's a reason that KTM designed the bottom triple clamp with two bolts on each side: It makes the connection more stable. I don't care that anyone uses the extenders, I just want people to know what the consequenses are.

This is a good example of unintended consequences. I would seriously consider the risk:benefit on something like this.
For me the risk of permanently damaging or deforming something isn't worth the benefit. Maybe if I could fabricate some kind of wedge shaped shim to fill the gap, I might consider using such extenders.

Today NiceCNC adjusted the description of their extenders, this time saying that they cause a 1.26 inch raise instead of 1 inch. This is still 0.314 inch to little, because they forgot to add the amount the fork legs protrube above the top triple clamp, in the standard position. @@scottporter0069 That's really good advice, but there are plenty of good aftermarket products, even on ebay, some even exceeding OEM quality and design. The problem is distinguishing between good and bad. And the amount of self proclaimed specialists, reviewers and influencers on the internet doesn't make it easier.
Notice the gauge does not go deeper than the top bolts in clamp. :)
Indeed, but a thinner feeler gauge would have gone deeper. Everyone has to decide for themself ofcourse, but I'm not going to use the extenders, it doesn't feel right when the bottom clamp only clamps half of what it should.
I will take a look at that gap. Thanks for pointing it out. I will need to give it some thought to determine if this is a significant issue or not.
I decided not to use the extenders. Don't like the idea that the bottom clamps only clamp half of what they're designed for.
I raised my top tripple clamp by 9mm with a spacer under the tripple clamp, this means the forks now are only slid down 30mm not the 39mm they were when I first tried the install
ADV Matt, Why would you take the responsibility "to determine if this is a significant issue or not"? Are you qualified for that? Isn't it up to NiceCNC and other manufacturers of similar fork extenders, to inform their customers of all the facts, including the effect on the bottom triple clamp?
@@zombiewoof5257 I am only looking at it from my own experience. I am not speaking for the company. It is left up to the each rider/user/qualified mechanic of this product to determine if this gap creates an issue in functionality. It's great that you captured how the fork leg and triple clamp come together. Thanks for identifying it.

I would at least put a disclaimer in the discription of your video, or pin a comment explaining the issue with the bottom triple clamp and the fact they extend the forks by 1.57 inch instead of 1 inch.

How not to merge? More like how to not allow someone to merge. If there is space on the left lane, go there and give him an empty space to merge into or just take your foot of the gas. It looks like you really didn't want to temporarily disable the cruise control here. You were overtaking him while he was still accelerating to adjust to the higher speeds on the highway. Sorry buddy, it certainly looks like the person in the white car wasn't paying attention, but you didn't allow him to merge either. I suspect you're from Belgium / Flanders so this is what I found: the white car needs to adjust to you and not the other way around, so technically you are in the right. But: "Om het invoegen vlotter te laten verlopen, mogen de bestuurders op de rechterrijstrook, vrijwillig naar links uitwijken, op voorwaarde dat ze daarbij zelf geen andere weggebruikers hinderen." It's called corteous driving ("hoffelijk rijgedrag"). Basically if you helped him out by also adjusting to him (decelerating / going to the left lane), there wouldn't have followed a dangerous situation. You have the law and you have the current situation. Just because the law says you are in the right to drive how you drive doesn't mean you have to.
You can clearly see that there are other cars overtaking me, so moving over was no option. It's obvious that I was overtaking him with enough speed difference for him to merge behind me, giving me no reason to lower my speed. But at the last moment he accelerates and suddenly decided to swerve in my lane, giving me no time to react in any other way. I never ride aggressively and always give people a chance to merge, but this guy wasn't paying attention and created this situation, not me. So the title of the video is very appropriate: It's a clear demonstration of how not to merge.

How do you find spare parts for damages ?
Mostly via connections and friends that have the same hobby and some dealers who specialize in old timers. Now and again some "new old stock" is found and some parts are reproduced.

Yes, anyone can use it, no problem. The fact that I'm not swamped with flerfers in denial is probably because the curve is not as obvious as Soundly's, for instance.
