Anamorphic video test - Sirui 50mm T2.9 Anamorphic 1.6x
My first time trying out anamorphic lenses!
When I get any project like a music video I look at the script, I try to visualize what it looks like. Sometimes it’s a camera setting or lighting technique but this time it was a lens choice. Shooting Anamorphic gives the video a filmic look and adds effects like wide aspect ratio and even sci-fi lens flares. I got to use these lenses in my latest music video work. Check it out here:

This song is a hidden gem, for sure. In another dimension, it's topping the billboards and in movie soundtracks. But we're stuck in one where people prefer songs like WAP... :(
It's as if Mastodon fans who reflexively hate this song think that the only music Mastodon themselves like or listen to is Mastodon's existing discography. Like from the moment they picked up their guitars, they just poured out their fully-formed sludgy prog-metal, and never thrashed out to easier but fun to play rock and roll. Yeah, it's simpler and poppier than their usual stuff, but it's one of the best hard rock/metal-ish songs of the last few years, sounds like Mastodon (I mean who else does this sound like except maybe QotSA), and look - they're enjoying themselves. Unclench your sphincters, people.
