    you had to repot it without pruning it, let it recover and when the plant was fine set it up. It happens to me too sometimes that I don't have the patience to do things calmly and some of my plants die.

Excellent! I did have to slow it down to half speed as you were kinda fast, but I just slowed it down. I also love how you showed the entry cards!! I loved being able to see the species and age!! Just loved it!! Thank you for all the work you put in here!! That was fabulous!

    Novice enthusiast here, seeking enlightenment and not offering criticism. I have questions. Why would you defoliate a deciduous tree, especially so close to the time when the tree thinks it should be done? Major pruning and defoliation must distress any tree and I would have thought it was better to do that in the growing season when the tree was better able to cope with stress?

    • @NBBonsai
      @NBBonsai 7 місяців тому

      Hi Roger, Defoliating a deciduous tree is probably not necessary but it's going to lose all its leaves anyway. Defoliating helps to see the structure while pruning. If you prune Maples at the start of the growing season, they tend to lose a lot of water from the cuts, this will weaken the tree. Maples should be pruned again mid summer when the first flush of growth has hardened off.
