Chris (Personal Trainer) vs. Dimi (Engineer)
This Dogpound matchup between Chris and Demi is in the seniors category (+50 years).
The purpose of these videos is to analyze the technique of the amateurs in the sparing class and give relevant notes and sparring tips to improve technique.
Chris is the bald guy, a personal trainer and Demi is a software engineer.
Directly from the beginning of the sparring, you could tell the difference in styles.
Chris is a kicking specialist who is not in position to do any damage with the hands. You can tell because the palms are facing outwards towards the opponent meaning he can’t turn the knuckles over. If you can’t turn the knuckles over, you won’t have any power in the punch.
Demi just needed to be more aggressive in general. There’s always a big difference in sparring when a bunch of other groups are going and sparring when everybody has stopped to look at your match up specifically.
Usually, when you see somebody freeze like this inactivity it’s because anxiety is getting to them not because of a lack of fight knowledge.
Enjoy the senior sparring session and FOLLOW for weekly sparing breakdowns and tips.

UFC Coach Teaches Foot-Break Kick Defence
Переглядів 78412 годин тому
At Tristar Mma gym, one of our favourite ways to block the push kick is to redirect using the form in the elbow. One of the reasons we use the elbow redirection when an opponent throws a front kick or a push kick is because the elbow will damage the opponents ankle or foot, which has many bones inside of it. Not only will it cause damage to the actual foot, but once the opponents kick has been ...

The purpose of the sparring sessions is to highlight how individuals from different walks of life and different backgrounds. All come together in my gym to learn how to fight and defend themselves. In many ways fighting at a mixed martial arts gym is a lot like going to church in the sense that you would meet people from different walks of life. You normally would never interact with. This is what we are taught here in the Netherlands as well when Dutch Kickboxing. It's a bitch to drill, as you always kick your sparring partners elbow at least once 😅 Makes you hobble around the rest of the day feeling the bruise on the sole of the foot. Thanks, Osu! 🙏

Not if you execute with intent and step out of the line when you throw that hook. The inside lowkick hurts bad if landed correctly

Hey man do you have a video that shows how to properly exploit this kicking style by boxing? When I spar a heavy kick reliant fighter he tends to shut me down by mixing body kicks and push kicks since my body is open when punching. My first thought was to work more on my feints what do you think?

Guy in the red gloves is fighting off of his back foot. When he punches he leans back instead of into the punch. He's also standing square instead of at an angle giving his opponent a much bigger target.

Nah, the reason some places banned side air bags is because the brain cannot stand lateral force as well as backwards & forwards force, it inpacts the side of the cranium causing damage. If you swing your arm & side impact the skull with the inner forearm with power its instant brain damage. I stopped doing Martial Sports as a young adult & in the 4 decades since have trained in & researched many Martial Arts & techniques, & while the sports & the sparring helped my real life abilities, it was knowledge of how the body is weak & what simple techniques to use against anatomical weak points that saved my life & that against multiple armed assailants. Test it for yourself, get someone to jab you & then [inside] forearm smash (swing) the side of your head usung the same power & see which one fcks you up more, but only use light power. There are Martial Arts most people have never heard of that lend effective techniques to combat that few think of, or can even imagine & if you match the "hokus-pokus" they speak with neurological & anatomical science you learn how to explore combat, giving yourself a better chance against armed attackers which combat sports dont. When training in combat sports think how it will work against armed assailants. The popularity of MMA has meant an arms race, since weapons are an equaliser for the untrained with basic knowledge & strategies...

Laugh like that around actual men and see if you sense a diminished level of respect in the room.
