Hi everyone! *waves *
My name is Laura and I created this channel to document the making process behind the things I post on my instagram. If you like Aesthetic pictures check out my page over there. If not, don't. I wouldn't want to ruin your day now would I?
Anyway, I make sewing video's for entertainment and i sew mostly historical/vintage (inspired) garments. stick around if this is your jam and enjoy!

I made an 18th century inspired shirt for my historical alice in wonderland cosplay as my entry for foundations revealed's yearly competition. Also perfect if tik tok inspired you to become a sea shanty singing pirate. Check out Bernadette Banner's video for the pattern I used: ua-cam.com/video/Ql9r8UKIvZs/v-deo.html Follow me on instagram for more real time progress: the_seamstre...
Sewing a Tailors Ham. But Make It Aesthetic™
Переглядів 2,4 тис.3 роки тому
Welcome to the first video on my channel :) I've started this channel to document progress on my entry for Foundations Revealed's anual competition. To familiarise myself with editing and youtube, I decided to make this practice video about making a Tailors ham. A Tailors Ham is a small pillow that can be used for pressing corners and round seams or as a pillow to anchor your handsewing to. in ...
Механизм намотки ДОЛЖЕН работать, как и положено!!! Не нужно это проводить с руки.
Hello Ms Laura that sewing machine looks like Afrana sewing machine, show me how that boat shuttle looks like, and do you know where I get that boat shuttle and bobbins.
The music is too loud.
I was trying to figure out how the bobbin worked and thanks to this video I figured out where the shuttle even was... Great start! Then I took the shuttle out to reload the bobbin and now I can't get it back in. Thanks for the great video. I know this machine still works. Maybe tomorrow I'll figure it out. It's not the same machine, I can't find any videos of the one I have. I will make it sew again!
I got it!
Very helpful thanks for uploading this video ❤
Just rescued a vibrating shuttle machine that was sitting out at the curb in the rain. Cleaning and oiling and getting it all moving again...can't wait to thread and try her out! Thanks for the guidance. But also I had to comment on the very very lovely music! Thank you for that treat!
I just found a New Home series A that was my landlord's mother's and he allowed me to have it instead of it going in the dump and I am so glad there is content like this out there because I'm only familiar with oscillating shuttle machines -- but this girl is beautiful and deserves to live again thank you for helping me make that happen.
For once I really enjoyed the music. I've never noticed before that that shuttle sewing machines (I have one) bobs as it sews, never watched in slow motion before, don't think my later round bobbin 201k bobs, I think it just goes straight in and out again, fascinating to see the old one in action, very appropriate :)
Beautiful shirt! I love the velvet and lace details!
This hit me, as they say, right in the aesthetic O.O
thanks 💖
I really love your video editing style. Your videos are a joy to watch!
thanks! happy you enjoyed it :)
Me: Alright, I'll bite. How exactly can one make a *tailor's ham* aesthetic? Laura May: *Whips out the Tweed* Me: Oh ... oh yes.
What can I say except.... you're welcome! (this is seriously so sweet tho, your comments just made my entire day, thank you!)
Wonderful! Great job!
It looks so great! I feel like it's a sort of trailer for the outfit and I kind of want to do one for mine now too!
