Bro, wtf are these commenters? The combat is balanced, not the bullshit we see in ABA which is just sad. ABA is also shown to be hella unbalanced meanwhile SU is WAYYYY less pathetic in balances. These people are obviously just blinded by nostalgia. This is the reason why new Roblox games can’t grow…this is the gaming world we live in…😢

games that go like ''no we cant have the latest version of this character yet we need start with pre time skip and youll wait for it'' often fail, its a curse although lets be real, in general, no one has beaten aba or lived enough to be competing with it.

the game isn't meant to be a big hit in the first place nor people unwillingly naming it the ''ABA Killer'', of course it's lacking character and content but it's one of the best game out there yet where they put so much effort into each one of the characters its a slow burner, once the game isn't lacking characters because no matter how low their player base gets, they still gonna add other stuff besides characters that has more quality and quanity effort into any games ive seen and also the combat is easy to learn, it's isnt that hard compared some games i played but that just me

Its an extremelly consistent game, theres no other game that is this well produced in Roblox, and for some reason this is very offputting for Roblox players specifically. We enjoy different styles all around the characters and unique functionalities, while here every character has the exact same style of vfx and animation

Lack of content, and the lack of bad players, the average roblox players is around 10 to 12 years old, so if they join the game they'll get smoked, because the only people that still play this game are sweats, same thing happened to Heaven's Arena

SU is fundamentally better but somehow The Slop game i play known As ABA which is way worse ofc the balancing is dog shit but the variety of characters makes ABA stand out

SU didn’t want to change their boring combat, going off the copium that just because the small majority of their discord polled that they liked the combat (the same people keeping their game at 300 players)

One underrated aspect of this conversation is the balancing of both games. aba is the more polarizing game due to its balancing, with it basically generating tons of crazy moments and clips of stupid combos and whatnot, whereas su overall is a lot more tame. Since aba has higher highs, it kind of wins over people in a way. Most everyone understands aba has the better combos, bigger roster (and arguablly better characters due to those combos), and stronger community (although it didnt start that way), but I think most people look at aba's balance as mainly a negative when it is arguably part of the reason it is so popular and more liked than su. Sometimes having a "worse" made game is actually a good thing, theres a reason kusoge's exist.

I feel like another one of the main reasons is it's far too complicated to pick up for a more broader audience. There are so many buttons to learn and mechanics to memorize, yet there isn't much innovation the players THEMSELVES can do. The characters aren't flexible. This game takes the "expand outwards" route, without leaving room for the players to grow inwards. I hate to compare it to TSB (the sloppiest battlegrounds) but in that game the mechanics are incredibly simple. M1s, jump, moves, dash. The only bit of modern universal tech they have is the ragdoll cancel, and it's just a dash while ragdolled. It's that very limited and simple moveset that forces players to develop techs and niche things to do. Not to mention the lack of a key audience. People who like ABA style air combat will play ABA, and those that don't like that style of combat won't play SU at all.

1. ABA has had a loyal fanbase for over like 5/6 years now 2. ABA has over 10x the characters of SU despite, on average, the characters being much more poorly designed. That alone makes ABA way more appealing as theres more content and more to try/aim towards. 3. SU combos are not as variable as ABA. The combat also feels a lot less free. However, the characters are VERY balanced and that may be the reason. ABA characters are so horribly balanced its insane. Get hit once with some characters and youll get TOD'd or inf combod.

Lowkey hot opinion but anime unlimited (that other ABA like game that died out like 2 times) is better than shonen for me just cuz it has that aba feel while having a kind of polish and unique paint to its roster as well

i think the main reason is...game just released in wrong time. as i know it was in development for 1-2 years, which is insane the thing that shonen unleashed have now is not really impressive anymore.
