It does well against mages as ret can't touch a mage. Versus priest and mage it's actually about on par. Deep ret rarely gets those crispy crit line ups needed

He's using Full Naxxramas and Rank 13 Armor for the 35 second cooldown on Hammer of Justice. Spaulders of the Grand Crusader, Girdle of the Mentor, Kiss of the Spider, Might of Menethil, etc with the Field Marshal's Spaulders, Helm and Boots. This is a FULL BIS paladin. He's probably using Naxxramas rings, and because he is reckoning he probably wants maximum crit from using the naxx ring and quick-strike ring instead of ret rings, which are usually stamina (like the Bronze Dragon Flight Rings - as the one you wanna use with reckoning has '+7 Defense' on it -- reducing your chance to be crit, and ruining reckoning. As someone with a Might of Menethil Ret Paladin with full AQ40 gear: This guy is a titan, head and shoulders above other paladins in duels because of his gear-level. It's kinda disturbing how well the Girdle of the Mentor, Kiss of the Spider, and Legplates of Carnage Synergize with the Ret PvP set. Pretty sure he's using Gauntlets of Annihilation as well.

No, but it is one of the most exciting. In general it's about class-matchup and preparation. If a ret paladin goes against a reckoning paladin in a duel, the ret paladin will generally win even with weaker gear. The repentance ret paladin is also better (1v1 in duels, with no preparation) against mages. Preperation means you pre-stack 4 reckoning charges which you cannot always do in battlegrounds. So it's always relative.

For RET Paladin I would argue it's the best for solo PvP, I mean, no Comms with more people. You still have BoP, BoF and heals to support the party but you can effectively one shot a lot of players, and in a longer fight Reckoning can give you extra swings that can proc extra SoC, it's quite random and rng dependant but it's a lot of fun. Repentance is amazing tho and you might get it if you want to have more cc, but you are not oneshotting anyone then, up to you entirely

It's really not that good of spec, I went to rank 14 on my priest + naxx gear, pallies simply couldn't do anything to me. I'd just dispel every single buff, keep myself healed and mana burn them. There's no bursting down a healer with 6k hp, they just go OOM. Decent vid but complete lack of Warlocks, Spriest, Ele shamans, etc. Once caster classes gear up and can chunk half your hp a cast combo, it's a bad time to be a slow moving pally. If your bubble isn't up then they eat you alive before you can get a swing off.

@@theperfectbeing totally agree. Casters and healers with naxx gear are insane, and ret reckoning doesnt help. Against melee is a must spec, but... vs casters its not as easy
