Sands Carving Studio, located in Hamilton, New Zealand, was born out of Alex Sand's life's passion for Māori carving; sourcing, exploring and creating with the indigenous materials of Aotearoa. We hand carve and make everything from jewellery & adornments- to sculptures, musical instruments and traditional weapons using precious metals, stone including pounamu/greenstone, wood, bone, and shell.
