Wow… That was quite the emotional tale. To think Rover was taken away because of the damaged mind of an individual. And judging by the ending, is this based on a true story?

This story really makes a real man cry not because of the writing of the story but how it felt and turned out before the ending of the story, the way Parker had his final moments with Rover was so heart breaking to listen over again. This story along with the other story, mavis’ best friend by thejollymanier really makes everyone else and a real person cry. 😢 Rest in peace for Rover the light of hope for barrow. 🫡

I find it hard to believe Toby's fireman would just leave his engine behind. Some rewrites I'd make are "Toby's crew had kept his fire going to keep warm" so when toby's fireman came running back, "he jumped into Toby's cab, put him in full reverse and threw the regulator open".

Neville and Murdoch can cover your trains on the mainline including the Flying Kipper. Henry: Very well, sir. LATER ON Owl: Coo coo! Henry: Stupid bird! Edward: Whenever that owl hoots, a mist rolls in. And there's a legend that when there's a mist about, there's a ghost about too. Henry: Silence is golden, Edward! Jesus, don't you ever get tired of hearing yourself talking?! Edward: Take care on the old line, youngster. Henry: Yeah whatever! Owls, mists, ghosts - jabberwocky! You're going soft in the boiler. There's no mist. Henry's fireman: What the hell is that? Henry's driver: It's an amber lamp. That means proceed with caution. Indeed we should because it's a pea souper. Henry: Who's there? Henry's driver: Murdoch is too heavy for that branch line, and Neville has enough work to do. Owl: Coo coo! Gordon: Beware of the ghost, Henry! Ahahahaha! Trucks: Oh look - Henry's spooked! Muahahaha! Henry: Zip it, you stupid bastards! I'm not scared! Henry's driver: Here we go again. Trucks: Faster, faster! There's a ghost about!
