So there was always one part of this topic of biblical slavery that gets left out. The laws governing non-Hebrew slaves were more harsh than those governing Hebrew slaves: non-Hebrew slaves could be owned permanently, and bequeathed to the owner's children, whereas Hebrew slaves were treated as servants, and were released after six years of service or the occurrence of a jubilee year. Leviticus 25:46 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly. So non hebrews were slaves for life. Their family are slaves. Any new born children automatically became slaves. And this continued generation after generation after generation This form of slavery is what we call chattel slavery . One should always understand that owning a person as your property is immoral. It was then and it still is today. I just wanted to add this so that everybody gets a fair perspective about Slavery in the bible.

Thanks for caring about us, and we do ask that our faith be called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because we know Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He is first in our name. I love Him. God is our Heavenly Father and I love Him, too. The Book of Mormon is called such because Mormon was one of the last prophets who lived and he and his son were the last of their people. We aren’t followers of Mormon, but I respect him for what he did just as I do for all of the prophets that are in the Old and New Testaments. I believe in the Bible, as well. It is incorrect that we don’t believe that Jesus Christ’s Atonement did not atone for every sin. It did and it does! We believe that the blood of Christ atoned for every sin. I know this Church and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and I hope you’ll learn more because I want you to know that it’s beautiful and brings me great joy. We are asked to pay to the Lord 10%, but I’ve never received a letter, nor have I ever heard of anyone receiving one. Thank you for having compassion for us, and I have compassion for you, as well; I hope to be as my Savior, Jesus Christ, who was patient and always full of light and truth, who always sought to be obedient to our Heavenly Father.
