Martin Place Station - Opening Day
The Sydney Metro City and Southwest line has finally opened after much delay on the 19th of August, 2024. Follow me as I explore Martin Place station and its surrounding area.
The majority of footage was filmed on the 19th of August 2024 in the Sydney CBD. I would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people who are the traditional custodians of the lands on which this footage was filmed.

When will they complete the North-West Metro to St Marys?
It's planned that the WSA metro line will be extended to Schofields along with the NW line, but there's not yet a date for this project completion
Excellent video! There's also currently a set running around with a teal stripe underneath the windows, some say that it's going to be a precursor to the rest of the fleet having a livery-change once it opens. It's very hard to find photos of this set since no one has recorded down what carriage it actually is to my knowledge, I believe it's one from the newer orders? Keep up the good work, your channel has some serious potential.

When does the new line open?
There's no set open date yet. Likely some Sunday in August (either the 18th or 25th)
@@CitiesAndTransit The truth is no one knows, especially NOT the metro themselves. The metro is still waiting approval by the Office of the National Safety Regulator (ONRSR), which depending on what they find could push it back very, very, very far. All that I can say (without getting in trouble) is that it'll be after August.
@@griffinrailsyep I agree. I know someone within the NSW Fire Brigade who found many safety issues at multiple stations. Could be months yet !
