Building Basic Ladder in Automation Studio with Relays
Переглядів 4 тис.2 роки тому
Drawing a basic ladder logic circuit with Automation Studio. The circuit contains memory latches and the basic counter which allows a single push button to turn on a lamp and when pressed a second time we'll turn off the lamp. This is a good example of ladder logic programming that has a single event, such as a push button being pressed, that does a different thing to the circuit the second tim...

      Yup, I'm still in the loop. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to fit in producing videos for a few years now. I took a distracting new job at my Collage a few years ago and I miss doing videos, but I’ll come back into the scene in a while. I dream of making SO MANY awesome videos all the time and I’m also in the process of designing a new UA-cam studio AND I have an interactive projector and a new place for my studio, so one day… Thanks for the comment

    unfortunately i wanted to see in ladder logic the stop button, some videos in that configuration they program it as NO, i simulated it with the zelio as NC and it works fine.

    Was looking for videos on latching relays but this helped certain applications make more sense. We use a start and stop button for our motor starters and I always kinda wondered how just a N.O contact would keep it energized after you release the button

    Hello there, we have problems with Voltage fluctuations, where the voltage dips briefly and then comes back on right away. This causes my AC compressor many problems, so I installed a ICM Delay on Make Timer. The strange thing is that the timer does not cut out at those dips but only delays once the electricity goes off completely ( same counts for the built in delay in my Air handler thermostat). So here my question : would a Ditek Surge Protector be a solution or do I need to install something else ? Thank you so much !

    There is a confusion about off delay timer. In my anderstanding ,there are 3 types of off delay timer. 1)- pneumatic timer could used for off delay 2)- True off delay 3)- with signal contact the off delay should always be energised

    *YOU DIDN'T TELL HOW TO CALCULATE THE GAIN?*---how tp calculate the gain and how got the value 200? What if the base voltage is same as the collector boltage? Is there a simple way to calculate that in that case?

    • @larsexplains3086
      @larsexplains3086 3 місяці тому

      Thank you for your great question. I get your frustration. You are not alone. I had a similar issue when I first started learning transistor theory. The thing is, the Gain is not calculated, but put into the design of the transistor by the manufacturer. The manufacturers decided what the gain is and then include that information on the datasheet. This gets a bit more complicated, because the gain changes with the collector current. If you look at the date sheet of any transistor here is a link: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/www.onsemi.com/pdf/datasheet/tip47-d.pdf If you look at the Datasheet, you will see the Gain chart hFE DC Gain Current Gain. The Max Gain is 150 when the collector current is low and the and the minimum gain is 10 when the collector current is at its highest (The highest current is listed as 2 Amps) Knowing the Gain, you can do all the math I demonstrated in the video. I would like to also note that I used a gain of 200 to make the math easier, but it is an uncommon Gain. Typically, smaller Transistor have a lower max gain lie 80- or lower for the max collector current, I hope that helped your frustration.

    Sounds like you know what you're talking about, but are extremely muddy and drag out simple concepts with far too much unnecessary tangents. Simple explanation is the connection flips between the NC and NO pin when the relay is energized. That's how you start, and add small details as needed. You lose people by talking all over the place and having a messy drawing. Video could have literally been 2 minutes long, had plenty of detail and been straight to the point.

    DON'T use the term OPEN when describing a conducting diode or transistor. YOU ARE CONFUSING YOUR STUDENTS...Open is a poor choice of words..also the reason the water valve analogy is just confusing to newbies..a closed valve stops water current..an open valve allows full..closed switch..full current..open switch..no current

    Excellent video! I am so thankful for this video! I’m in an industrial electric class and have a new teacher that didn’t receive all relevant resources. There is no curriculum to teach… only labs handed out for us to google answers and wire as per drawings in the lab… sure we are learning, but we need a concise lesson in order to understand them. This video is absolutely great and even having a decent background understanding and familiarity with ladder logic and wiring, I felt overwhelmed with the connections being made in my head watching these videos!!! I will probably watch each one several times!!! Just so short sweet and tied in a bow in only 5-6 minutes! Priceless!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Please keep it up! You have a gift! For Gods sake sell your videos in different series to small regional trade school/adult education type programs!! Thanks again! I’m sharing your videos with the administrators of my industrial electric class and of course my classmates! I can help drive views of your stuff but only you can really cash in on your gift to teach!!!!!!!
