After setting myself a challenge to make it round the lake! (months ago) After doing the test with the new props I manged 5KM so thought Id go for it. With perfect condition when I set off (Storm came through and wind got up!) round the large end was fine, along the back edge the wind started to get up and around the small end it got very choppy but made it round and even for a quick check over...

      Toby Gardner so only 300w? Seems to still do the he job but I guess just takes a few more passes. Is the repeatability good enough to leave a nice finish on the edge? And is there much movement in the rails, does sharper type turns leave a nice consistent radius? Hope so, think I saw these for <$500, the 6090 I been eying off is $1800-2000. Plus god knows what other costs are to be discovered along the way

    I did an autotune on my s500 apm and it looks like it flies great (los) but when I watch the video footage there are serious oscillations. Is it because of p and I being too high?

    • @tobes49
      @tobes49 7 років тому

      You could try changing - AUTOTUNE_AGGR to 0.075 a re-run the autotune, Or lower the P gain as a start.

    I am using 680quad custom made. I am using pixhawk ac3.3.3 I use default parameters and haven't tried autotune . It flies well in auto mission even having huge cg offset it wobbles but can manage to complete the mission. but it is so hard to control in manual piloting (poshold, althold). what pid have to be tweaked to get a better flight in poshold mode?

    • @tobes49
      @tobes49 8 років тому

      Try an autotune first providing you dont have "sync problems" If your flight time is under 15min please change "AUTOTUNE_AXIS" to 3 (this will only do roll and pitch) Once happy with roll and pitch change "AUTOTUNE_AXIS" to 4 to finnish the yaw

    • @sriram1993mk
      @sriram1993mk 8 років тому

      I kind of scared for doing autotune cause, I mounted a gimbal and camera on the top of the drone which might cause the quad to crash in autotune. so whenever I pitch the quad tilts about 30 to 20 degrees due to the cg offset to the top and it wobbles and it comes to stable position. even in poshold it wobbles at a stationary position. Is it advisable to reduce the Stabilize_pitch and Stabilize_roll from 4.5 to 3.5 or 3? thank you....

      If the tx and ESC Cailbration are good then you try downloading the logs and check throttle in and throttle out. how heavy is the quad? also might be better to post on the APM 2.x and pixhawk group on Facebook as there me and lot off other helpful people on this group.

    Hi there. I'm just about to order one of these machines. I'll be using it to cut 15mm pvc Foamex. The sheets are a4 size, could you tell me if that will fit on the bed? And where the spec says 300x200mm travel, does that mean it will cut a maximum size of 297x197mm with a 3mm bit? Thanks in advance

    • @tobes49
      @tobes49 8 років тому

      I have cut A4 carbon fiber sheet before clamping on the long ends the sheet fits on the bed but you can cut that wide (bed is wider than A4 but the spindle doesn't go to the edge. - ua-cam.com/video/Po-5j8X6ND8/v-deo.html Yes you should be able to cut 297x197 but I would say 295x195 is more like it.

    Basic checks first - check for play in axis Mine had 1.77mm off play in the Z axis which I had to machine the bracket out because it wasn't made correctly Also check the wires as these are prone to breaking and causing lost steps if there ok You need to measure the pitch on the threaded bar and work out how many revolutions per mm, With this you can setup Mach3 correctly. mach 3 also has an auto setup by moving the axis a set distance and it will work out the steps -
