Hårgalåten - Traditional Swedish Folk Song (From the "Midsommar" Analysis by Novum)
Hey everyone! Here’s my take on the eerie and beautiful Swedish folk song, Hårgalåten.
I originally recorded this for an elaborate video by @Novum_YT that dives deep into the movie "Midsommar." The video covers everything from the film’s themes and symbols to its real-life inspirations and folklore connections. Hårgalåten is a traditional Swedish folk song that tells the eerie tale of a fiddler whose enchanting music compels the villagers of Hårga to dance until they collapse from exhaustion. This song is steeped in mystery and the supernatural, making it a perfect fit for the themes explored in Midsommar.
I really enjoyed stepping out of my usual style to work on this piece, and I'm thrilled to share it with you all. I hope you find it as mesmerizing and haunting as I did.

It is a traditional Swedish folk song that I recorded for a video analysing the movie Midsommar. It is quite far from my normal genre of singing, but it was a fun challenge!

You made me realize that this song probably is a child of Where'd You Go and ...a slower, lullaby-like version of Shadow of the Day or Leave Out All the Rest, in a sense. I can only imagine what other, similar songs Chester and the rest of the gang would have graced us with by now, assuming they'd be doing the slower stuff again... but as I had said back then, and it seems like many others did and felt that, it would never ever could be the same without that special guy :( Such a shame no one really helped him🙄

*And* nice taste :p Hopefully more stuff of Bon Iver (and Birdy, since I recognized the cover was closer to her version, and she is back again) will be covered eventually. I ended up here after listening to One More Light and noticing the cover (soon to be the 600th like there xD), &wanted to check out more. Even the (even more) mainstream songs she has picked surely match my own picks from that pile/corner of newer music. Not sure every single second of each cover seems perfect like some have basically said, but I certainly like where this is going & pointing at. Will surely add more suggestions later ^^
