      @@godfredgudguy8167 depends on what kind of map mod you are looking for. This one shows more map details: thunderstore.io/c/outward/p/sinai-dev/More_Map_Details/ This one gives a minimap in dungeons: thunderstore.io/c/outward/p/sinai-dev/Minimap/ If you are asking for custom regions or dungeons, then that is something that haven't been made yet. I'm not very familiar with it but I've heard that it's very challenging to get it to work without crashing the game. The different managers Ninedots use in the game aren't very happy with new regions and break a lot apparently.

    Does anyone know how to change the stability regen speed? I can't find any related mods

      You can give the player a status effect which affects the stability regen. If you export a template from the status effect called "KIll Streak" (which gives +50% Stability regeneration) you can figure out how to structure your status effect (what names/values to give it for the different fields). Then when you have your status effect, then you need to figure out a way to give the status effect to the player. Giving it automatically when you create a character is tricky and I believe you gotta use C# to do that. Alternatively you attach the status effect to some item, skill, potion, etc.

    I want to remove the negative effects of the Acrobatics and the Nightmare skills, but I have no idea where to find those values. Do you have an idea? I thought they would be in the EffectTransform section but those two skills don't have that for some reason

    hello, very nice video! do you have any progression path suggestions are some of the items are late game? early/mid /early late game ( normal story, rust and vegneance) , how did you dealwith groups of enemies/mini bosses/etc?

      It uses many late-game items. This is more of an optimized build, and not a build I would recommend for most people. The particular version you see in this video (as opposed to the more tanky version which restricts itself to using lantern of souls), requires that you do the holy mission faction quests to get all the tanky passives, and the candleplate armor. The Chimera pistol have to be attained from the Blood Under The Sun quest by the smuggler's shop. This is pretty late game. Otherwise the other items are fairly straight forward to get. Any tank builds will feel weak without buffing completely against some enemies. In certain cases the protection and barrier will be enough, but that will only be against weaker enemies. Due to this being a tank build (with both impact resistance and high damage resistances) you won't have any problems if there is a single enemy or multiple enemies. They are treated the same because they do essentially no damage and no impact, so you just hit them until they die.

      @@Mikamaru follow sheenshots modding tutorial, but before that make sure you have "Outward Definitive Edition". Modern mods are made for the Definitive Edition, and running those newer mods on Outward will cause issues like you are experiencing. I cannot say that is the problem, but it might be the problem. The steam banner always shows "Definite Edition" even though you might not have it. You can right-click on the game in the steam library select properties and go to the dlc tab. It should say if you have Outward Definite Edition.

      @@Mikamaru the older version of sideloader is made for Oldward (Outward *before* Definitive Edition), that's what I was getting at with my comment. So it's not that the tutorials are outdated but the modloader is launching the old version of the game and trying to apply mods made for the new version of the game (they use different versions of unity that are incompatible). That's just what I thought, but I might be wrong though and you can be facing a different issue. Anyway, what matters most is that you have what you need. Best of luck with what you're gonna mod ♥️

      @Lesser-Flame one common problem is that some people use Nexus mods.The mods on there are typically for older versions of Outward. I would stick to Thunderstore. Sheenshots has a nice installation guide for Outward mods: ua-cam.com/video/PTliQl1PglU/v-deo.html Edit: Additionally mods now are made for Definitive Edition. They are not necessarily backwards compatible with Outward because different Unity versions

    A more tanky variation by using the Lantern of Souls. To accommodate for the higher ethereal resistance of the lantern we can sacrifice 10 ethereal resistance from out setup. Thus, we can swap to the White Kintsugi Helmet, and the Blue Sand Boots. This will give 100 resistances to Ethereal, Fire, Lightning, and Decay (with weather defense), as well as a higher impact resistance of 86. The lower frost resistance is covered by barrier. This means that you can tank the strongest attacks from the Elite Crimson Avatar without taking damage, as well as the Elite Torcrab (which technically have the highest dps in the game).

    This is the almost perfect video to explain combat in Outward, however if I have to criticize this, it's probably the lack of teaching player to observe enemy for their moveset and damage type, since you will need to prepare appropriate defense against the type of enemy you would be fighting in order to avoid getting killed in 3 hits or less. This is extra important once you finish the main story quest and head into post game town building, as enemies in that area have multiple ways to get around specific type of defense even if you build for it.

    Build: Weapon: [Any weapon you like as long as it doesn't provide negative stats] At the moment I believe Starchild Claymore is the best for this build. Helmet: Wolf Plate Full-Helm with the Calm Soul Enchantment Body Armor: Candle Plate Armor with the Shelter Enchantment Boots: Wolf Plate Boots with the Aegis Enchantment Backpack: Dusk Backpack Tent: Luxury Tent Faction Holy Mission (Divine Assistance, DON'T GET EXHALTED) Be sure to also get the Elatt's Intervention passive in New Sirocco Skilltrees Skilltree 1: Cabal Hermit Skilltree 2: Warrior Monk (Master of Motion, Flash Onslaught) Skilltree 3: Primal Ritualist (Nuturing Echo) Other important items -Virgin Lantern with the Copper Flame Enchantment (Curse) -Astral Pistol (Scorched, Chill) -Chimera Pistol (Elemental Vulnerability) -Ghost Drum (Haunted) -Sky Chimes (Doomed) -Lexicon with the Inheritance of the Past Enchantment (Casting runes and additional mana regeneration) Other important skills -All elemental boons -Steady Arm -Fitness -Flamethrower -Rune: Dez -Rune: Egoth -Frost Bullet -Armor Training -Efficiency -Torment A little more breakdown: This means that we take 40% less physical and impact damage from Weaken, and 65% less elemental damage, all this before protection/barrier/resistances are considered. There is enough barrier on the build to fully remove any elemental damage from any enemy in the game if the damage they deal is purely in a single element (given hexes/sapped are applied). Because we have balanced our elemental resistances, barrier will always reduce the highest damaging element. This effect is pronounced in enemies which have skewed damage and ignores half of our resistances such as medyse as the barrier will target the correct element (further information in the description). If there are multiple elements, barrier will let through the least damaging element which will then get reduced by our high elemental resistances to Ethereal, Fire and Lightning damage (90%). In the cases where we are fighting an enemy with equal damage in two elements and they have the ability to ignore half of our resitances then we won't be penalized much by it compared to a full resistance build as we will typically have 45% resistances compared to their 50% resistance. Incoming physical damage is almost fully negated by protection. The few enemies which ignore half of our resistances and deals high physical damage, that being the gargoyles, only does around 6 damage (or 3 damage which would require a food buff). For other enemies the protection and resistance together with the weaken hex almost fully bring the damage down to zero. Lastly the impact damage of enemies is not handled well by protection. This is the case because some enemies have 200+ impact damage. Protection isn't going to do anything, even if weaken is applied. The impact resistance of 82% is the highest that I can get without sacrificing the balanced resistances, all elemental resistances, or barrier (which is required to be 27). An ideal tank build needs to handle all the following cases on a single build configuration without swaps: -Impact Damage (300 impact) -Physical Damage (80 physical damage) -High single-elemental damage (75 elemental damage) -Multi-elemental balanced damage (Up to 5 elements at a time) -Multi-elemental skewed damage (From 2 elements at a time, only particular combinations) -Ignore resistance physical damage (60 physical damage) -Ignore resistance skewed multi-elemental damage (Up to 20 damage in one of the damage types)

    If Im making a clone of a skill is what ID do I put so as to not override an existing skill? Edit: I rewatched this again I think. I understand now. Destroy to remove old Skill and None to create a copy of that skill.

      @@blankx15 To not overwrite the skill the NewItemID (the field at the top) must be different than the old one. Negative numbers aren't used by the developers, so they are good to use. Then you won't accidentally overwrite some other skills. Second, you have the option of overwriting the old effects from your TargetID or appending new effects to the the copy of the old skill. This is where you use EffectTransformBehavior (right above the effect transform field): setting it to 'None' will append your new effect to the skill, setting it to 'Destroy' will first remove the old effects and then add your new one. So keep in mind the difference between the skill itself, and the effect which is socketed into the skill.

    Barrier is misconceptually implemented imo. It should block every elemental instance instead of covering your weakness. Protection doesn't discriminate from melee weapons and arrows, for example. It just acts. But hey you really found your way nevertheless! Props!

      Because both hexes and sapped reduce enemy elemental damage, that might make barrier a bit broken if it was applied to every elemental instance. I think if they removed the hexes reducing the damage dealt then I think it could be fine. That would put it on the same level as physical damage (which only has 40% reduction). Having a way to reduce the damage by 65% (40%+25%) is just a bit too strong when combined with flat damage reduction. Edit: In a way I kinda like the way barrier only applies to a single element because that makes it really unique compared to resistance. It fulfills a specific role. It's just non-intuitive. Not sure what I would do to improve it though. I actually hope they make protection work similar to barrier in Outward 2 given they are expanding physical damage into slash stab and crush.

    Is it possible to have a mod that would allow you to pause or slow down gameplay with a press of a button while using the debug camera?

      I think you can use mouse-button 4 to slow down time while in camera mode, or does that not work? I don't have a pc right now to check. Eitherway, it's something you can definitely mod, but you will have to do that through C#.

    One question: Isnt fire damage or lightning damage better for this boss since he is weaker to that elements ?

      That's definitely true on paper because of the lower resistance, but the gear selection for those elements evens it out. The unfortunate thing with fire is that it is held back by the low base elemental damage of the weapons and imbues. The base damage of fire weapons (Meteoric Knuckles [18.5] & Sunfall Axe [21]) is low compared to frost (Tokebakicit [25]), and the fire varnish also has lower damage values than the ice varnish. On the positive side you have a bigger elemental advantage for this fight in particular, you get the burning/blaze status effect, and slightly higher damage bonuses. However, the blaze status effect is just equivalent to ~3.1 extra fire damage to your gauntlet (if you were to use meteoric knuckles). Math: (BlazeDamagePerSecond)*(TimeBetweenAttackOfGauntlet)=(1.25/0.25+1.5/0.5)*(1.557/4) =(5+3)*0.38925=3.114 So during the time you take to inflict one hit from the gauntlet you will have done 3.114 fire damage (before damage bonuses are applied). It is equivalent to adding 3.1 damage to the base fire damage of your gauntlets :) Lightning has the radiant wolf sword [39]. I recommend checking out Lunabirds chakram fight: ua-cam.com/video/cPTa2cx1ufY/v-deo.html If I understand correctly, it will trade some minor damage per second (due to the much lower attack speed of swords: 0.62x the speed of gauntlets) in favor of more consistency since you have the option to use chakram to stagger enemies.     Hey Johbenji, I'm new to the community and I wanna ask. I made my own NPCs though I am bumping into an issue, when I go too far or when it loads the said NPCs that I made do a T-Pose, and they are stuck as such. What could be causing this issue? Also every NPC has a green health bar, wonder how do I change them to red? Just to easily differentiate enemy from ally and such. I wouldn't ask unless I'm at my wit's end.

      Sounds like a job you need to do in C#. I recommend talking with "ehaugw" on the modding discord about the character AI. I haven't done much with AI behavior and animations before. There are some others there who has also worked on characters before. I think there is a faction parameter for a character, but I'm unsure if that is all that you need to change to get the appropriate health bar. Sorry, I can't be of much direct help, but I wish you the best of luck with it!

    how do you add an imbue to a weapon lets say when you apply a hex on an enemy? for example I have a sword that adds the chill hex to an enemy and I want that weapon to then be imbued with frost damage for 15seconds every time I apply chill to any enemy, Thanks

      Forgot to update this. I don't believe it's possible with the player. Opposite is true though, it can cast Imbue for the enemy...

      If it is on that one particular sword (as opposed to all swords), then you add an effecttransform with the name "HitEffects" to the sword. It will have an effect condition to check for a hex on the enemy (it should be called "HasStatusEffectCondition" or something), and then you also need to add the "ImbueWeapon" effect corresponding to that particular hex. Do that for all the hexes and I think you should be set.

      Frost Damage (before bonuses): Frost Damage from Tokebakicit: 25 Frost Damage from the Ice Varnish: (25+25*0.9) x 0.1 + 15 = 19.75 =>Total: 44.75 Frost Damage Bonus: Cool boon: +30% Lockwell's Revelation: +30% Brains: +15% Alchemical Experiment: +15% Corrupted: +15% Shimmer: +15% Red Wide Hat: +10% Scarlet Robes: +15% Rust Lich Boots: +25% Ice Totemic Lodge: +10% =>Total: +180% Frost Damage with bonuses accounted for: 44.75 x (1 + 1.8) = 125.3 ~ 125 Notes: I forgot to add gift of blood to the run here, and with the new poltergeist, the updated value becomes: Frost Damage = 45 x (1 + 1.95) = 132.75 ~ 133

      It's pretty good with max cooldown reduction and that's what Lunabird sometimes uses in his build (outward.wiki.gg/wiki/Build:Elemental_Prismatic_Flurry). You also get a bit of utility from having mana push and other impact tools back quicker. However, the damage improvement isn't as large as I originally thought. We need to consider regular attacks in the skill rotation to get an accurate gauge of the damage with max CDR, and also the difference in damage bonus. Some reference values if you wanna calculate it: CDR | TIME(s) | #RegularHits | #PrismaticFlurries | #VitalCrashes | Note | 0% | 11 | 28.27 | 0 | 0 | Iceblood Pugilist (only using regular hits) | 80% | 11 | 14 | 2 | 1 | Elemental Prismatic Flurry | 90% | 11 | 8 | 4 | 2 | Elemental Prismatic Flurry (with energized) | To calculate how the dps compares between the builds we would need to count number of hits, damage multiplier for those hits, and the number of varnish hits, and the damage bonus of the build. The damage bonus depends a bit on setup of the cdr build but I think I will also have around +60% more damage bonus (equipment and alchemical experiment) compared to max cdr builds. From what I have calculated, when you are maxed out with CDR (energized) and varnish (ice varnish) it will be around 1% higher (multiplicative) dps. However, in the case of using a wind imbue, or not having energized, then iceblood pugilist will be better, 26% higher (multiplicative) dps if ice varnish but not energized. **All of this is assuming that you are fighting an enemy that is not fighting back. This is not typically the case, and in that case the cdr build will have an edge.** If you can keep up consistent DPS the higher iceblood will be, but in the cases where you have to play reactively then burst should be way better. In the end I think it boils down to playstyle and how efficient you are with burst vs consistent damage in builds. Sometimes this build will be quicker and other times it will be opposite.

    Thanks a lot for the video, Gave me a huge jumpstart in modding outward. However, only thing that I am currently having really hard time understanding is how the droptables work? I am trying to canibalize that part of code from other mods, but that seems a bit un-intuitive... do you have any tips on how to add items to be dropped by the boss for an exxample, and for it to be 100% chance?

      Hey sorry didn't see your comment earlier. Bosses tend to be a bit tricky to attach droptables to (you often need to use C# for this). Normal enemies tend to have droptables which you can hijack into. To attach a droptable to these normal enemies you need two parts. Part A: DropTable_Addition (which is an itemsource type). This requires a target droptable (existing droptable you wanna append your own droptable to), and your own custom droptable. Part B: Your own Droptable. I usually think of the SL_Droptable_Addition as the gun (it has a content and it is aimed at something), and what you are firing is the SL_Droptable XD. I'll look into making another video soon. No guarantees though. Been having a busy life recently

I was annoyed with that we only have 2 lexicons in the game, so i was trying to tie some new lexicons to the bosses in the game. Worst case scenario, I can make it so you have to enhance the lexicons and they slowly gain power(dunno have to think about it)! Hope the part 2 gets made! part 1 was very insightful. but ofc first things first :) Good Luck!
