A totally normal and not at all nitpicky Marvel Legends Death's Head review
I got a new backdrop because I was hoping the grey would make it easier to color grade than white. It didn't actually help but at least if Kopaka ever shows up on the channel again he won't just disappear into the bright white void.
Anyways, I've been a big fan of Death's Head for a while. So finally getting a proper action figure of the guy was super exciting, hence this channel coming out of hibernation so I can talk about it. I swear, I keep promising myself I'll do more review stuff over here but then that just continues to not happen. One day I'll post reviews more consistently, I swear it.

LEGO Bionicle Tahu and Takua GWP Review

A quick review of the Gift With Purchase Bionicle set we got earlier this year. It took way too long to make this thing but at least I finished it eventually. GWP Toa Mask Designs by MSW41: www.reddit.com/r/bioniclelego/comments/10gcsnx/free_download_hey_i_designed_some_gwpstyle_decals/?context=3
LEGO Bionicle Mini-Tahu Review - 90 Years of Play
Переглядів 52 тис.2 роки тому
A quick little review of the Tahu build from LEGO Classic set 11021, "90 Years of Play." No, of course I didn't review the whole set, why would I do that when I could talk exclusively about Tahu for seven minutes?
My personal favorite Marvel character. I also dislke Death's Head II' not as cool.
Marvel Legends the modern ones are made with a soft rubbery plastic to make them more durable unlike the older marvel Legends toys made by toy biz which were made out of a hard plastic which broke easily
I think Death’s Head will be more popular if he appears on marvel studio’s movies/shows. I first found out about this character few days ago when I was browsing hasbro pulse, and he looked interesting to me. Then I’ve got curios later on, and googled he’s appearance’s. And now I start reading transformers comics. Liked the journey so far. BTW i like the review, and ur point of view on this video
whats the name of the last toa? I didnt understand the name and I cant find it online
"I'm sure this discussion's been had-" Extensively, yes "-and resolved" lol, lmao
I kind of became a Death's Head fan because of that Heroclix figure, first time I saw that guy I was like "whoa that dude looks cool", never got it but I always thought about this character ever since. I'm looking forward to getting the Legends version, maybe dry brush some silver on him, panel line him and maybe repaint the eyes. And 40 bucks may seem like a lot but for one, like you mentioned that Colossus was 20 bucks in 2016? Dawg it's not 2016 anymore and inflation has hit EVERYTHING lmao.
Nice, the Heroclix DH is really cool! As for the inflation thing, the point was less "it was $20 eight years ago!" And more that they can do larger figures for the same price as normal. Nowadays it'd be $25 instead of $20, but I think it was a fair point to bring up.
Instead of doing that stupid G.I. Joe crossover movie, they could’ve used Deathshead as the villain for a Marvel X Transformers crossover! Because we know how much Marvel loves their multiverse. But then again, Disney owns Marvel and the thought of Disney even touching Transformers terrifies me
Yeah, I totally get all your points here. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to some sort of Transformers/Marvel crossover starring Death's Head! (Though to be honest I'd probably prefer a comic crossover as opposed to a movie.)
Here in Canada, the figure was released through Gamestop. I'm not sure if that was a nation wide thing or a province only thing, but in my experience, every single hasbro pulse or convention exclusive transformer has shown up at my local gamestop, so my thought was Death's Head would probably show up there too. Interestingly when I asked about it, I was told the figure was definitely coming in to the store but wasn't available for pre-order. The staff at my local gamestop are really cool however, so they offered to hold me a copy when the figures came in. And as random luck would have it, the day the figure came in just so happened to be my birthday.
Oh nice, I'm glad the figure is a little easier to get in-person over in Canada!
One upload a year is criminal, you're insanely entertaining. I got into Death's Head recently and bought the figure as an oddity for a Doctor Who collection. It manages to lineup in height pretty okay, but it's nice seeing him fit so well next to Transformers. I'm not much fussed by the cost, but the exclusivity feels... strange? No sense to make it a SDCC special, he feels like he should've just been general sale.
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, it's definitely a slower upload schedule. I wish I found the motivation to make these sorts of videos more often, but hey, it's something. And I totally agree with you on the exclusivity thing, it was absolutely a weird choice on Hasbro's part.
Brilliant move by hascrap. One of those I anticipated but never thought I'd see hascrap pull off so well ❤️🩹 but completely agree with your gripes❤
I know him from the Marvel Transformers comics, very fun character.
I love it I got mine on Amazon for $35 this week
That's great! I'm glad you managed to find it for cheaper than retail.
@@Versere sadly I wouldn't be surprised if it started showing up in Ollie's or ross by the end of the year
so you like bionicle and death's head? new sub
I’m kinda surprised that you’re such a Death’s Head fan, not many are out there, you have good taste ;) I grew up when DH just came out & he wasn’t in that many comics. He deserved more attention. You seem much younger than me so it’s cool to know a great character can still attach itself to new fans. I’m 52 years old & I’m so pleased to have this figure.. well, I bought two! His main appeal is his awesome look, Death’s Head 2 has that “extreme” 90’s look which is weak by comparison, not that good. This figure should be on store shelves, impulse buyers would totally buy him up. “YES.” There is no way to understand how & why Hasbro makes or sells their figures, just accept or deny them as you wish. Great Video Review !!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Yeah, I'm a huge Death's Head fan, I've read pretty much all of his big comic appearances and I absolutely adore him!
Loved it! Love Death's Head, love an in depth review, but especially appreciate the attention to costume detail. Lot of stuff I didn't know!
Thank you! I had a lot of fun going in-depth on this stuff, so I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Death's Head was the thing that initially brought us together on Twitter, especially our wishes for a new figure, so watching this review was like a true full-circle moment. Beyond that, it was a fantastic watch! It was engaging and fun (I knew it was coming but nearly lost my shit at the Bumblebee bit). Good stuff all around!!!
@@itsnotcurious Thank you!!! It's definitely been quite the ride, but I'm so glad it led where it did! (Also yeah I had so much fun with that Bumblebee gag, I couldn't stop laughing while editing it!)
this is such a well made review, with so much passion behind it, that i'm contemplating throwing $40 away and buying one myself!
YOOOOOOOOO THANK YOU KOGAN!!!!!! I'd definitely recommend it, it's pretty fun!
Bro your videos always blow me away, I found it ironic you talked about people not being exposed to him because this is the first time I’m hearing about him! Never thought Bionicle would expose me to an obscure marvel character
@@HYPERPUNKPEACHES Thank you so much! I'm glad I was able to do that!
HE’S REAL
After over a year of simmering on the idea of Bionicle G3 being a system line… yeah I’d be down, as long as the masks are unique pieces and not prints.
#bionicle lego classic 11021
Lego bioncile Lego vehicles
i hate lego...
4:16 I really don't understand what Lego made this stupid ass piece
7:19 Those parts to me look really remind me of Tahu from the 2003 game, in the pc/console versions, but the overall build also remind me of how he looked like in the gba version, so l think these can be considered references to those games.
He has all 7.
My dream is for legos 100th anniversary they do a “lego legacy” line. Where a bunch of different themes are represented. One of them being Bionicle. They release the six toa Mata in the GWP style as individual sets. And the six OG mctoran as polybags. Maybe one final set of takua and takanuva, maybe even makuta
If they brought back a technic style or even ccbs style continuation of the original storyline of Bionicle, I wonder how many people would come back?
I can understand why if bionicle came back they would want the original pieces but I think this is honestly a great step. Hell imagine what you can do with the mech piece
I could see either this style or somewhere in one of the current mech range (either the $15 style or this past year’s Ninjago mechs), depending on the cost range and purpose, whether display or play (GWP style for more display, mech style for play). I know people have toyed with the former. I recently started looking at the latter and, while the mech torso needs swapping out, the sccbs limb is pretty neat to play with despite the lack of knees and elbows.
GWP Good Guy is a masterpiece
Waiting for mine in the post ^^ i got it new easely for 20€ on a mass market site so the wierd market practices are gone (i am belgian). I can't wait ! Also Youre video is really pleasing and well narrated. 😊 Good job
Can you make a makuta in that style?
The ball on Lewa's chest has always been black At least my Lewa mata has a black ball on his chest
i just got this set for 20 cad and i've completely turned my opinion around on it. It's amazing. it's so cute in person and it has so much articulation, giving it far more personality than even the original
Hi! Honestly the Gali and Pohatu builds take the cake for me. They look the most "unique" and best designed among the rest. I think having already distinct designs in OG form helped. Congrats on the work arounds! If you hadn't told me these were fan made, they could have fooled me!
8:43 nice family guy pose lmao
LOVE the MOCed toa. i wasn't a huge fan of the GWP until this video. thank you for helping me see the light!
I need a teddy bear sized plushie version of tiny Tahu. Actually, I think Lego really should make plushies of googly Tahu. I feel like they'd print money.
got it for under 25€ on amazon, good i waited
I have 2 of the gwp. I ordered 2 €100 ninjago orders haha
And yes i love it. And the designers poured their heart into it
i managed to order this off of bricklink, i'm excited to build it. Honestly, this was a creative way of recapturing the "buildable action figure" using System, and it seems generally easy to replicate.
This set pulled me out of my lego dark age (sadly a little too late after having already sold almost all my pieces), it's as iconic to me as my first sets I got as a child. I've been using it as a base for other characters (original and existing) and I regularly find myself fiddling with it to a degree none of my other sets can really match. It's pure, unbridled fun and inspiration in my eyes, and I'm so glad I was able to get my hands on one (kinda wished I had gotten another when it was being sold alongside the Blacktron ship cuz I love that theme too but alas that was a tight month for my wallet)
Where did you get the purple bootlego from?
I absolutely love your Pohatu and Gali!
Im proud of Pohatu too 😁
This is a certified epic video. Also don’t worry, I think we collectively forgive the use of bootlego
I'm barely too young to have any real nostalgia for Bionicle. I remember the commercials, but g1 ended when I was like 9 and to a weirdly judgmental toddler, Bionicle was just the "weird" part of Lego that never interested me. I guess I was just too young to "get" it. Fast forward a bit and I'm doing a lot of Lego-centric artwork for a living and I finally took a deep dive on Bionicle lore. Anyways I bought this set the other day from my local used Lego shop and the love poured into it is great and it really resonates with me as someone who a) still generally prefers brick building and b) finally understands why the original Constraction stuff was so cool. It also just felt really good to make because this was my first real Lego set in about 15 years, good way to start a hobby I always wanted to do! 10/10 would travel back in time and give it to little kid me.
That was a wonderfull Video Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
I literally bought the Viking Ship set just to get this thing and I have no regrets
I just found your videos this morning and I have to say I love it .25 minutes talking about this figure was great .I got some great info on how to upgrade my builds .thanks . Wasnt bionicle technic when it first came out ?You can build so many mini Tahu and so many GWPs .You can also build the exo toa . Bionicle and hero factory will never die .I think the fans have taken it to a whole new level .the mocs that are out there show that .I think we fans have done what lego could not do .Lego made bionicle but we took it over and made it even better .take care
Not Good Guy in GWP!!😂 Fantastic video! The pacing, simplicity, and writing are top notch!
