    As stated before , I was the Wrecker operator there for 18 months (1967-1968) and I do remember the V100. I was prior infantry from 1961-62. If it was the same one, it came with 2 .30 caliber machine guns that no one knew anything about them. I put them together and taught the crew about them. But then as escorts we only had ourselves or MP’s as escorts. Only exception was when we made the first trip to Pham Tory with the 101st. The V100 did not last long. My name was Sp5 Fernando Rondon. Miss my time with a great group of drivers, drunks and Brothers.

    Police Tube is a police impersonator and a stalker. I uploaded a video about the whole ordeal and why his channel is shut down. You can see it on my youtube channel. If I commented over on his new channel he would delete it. On my community page there are a couple reddit links. On the one sub I have the full 18 minute video of Police Tubes traffic stop when he tried to pull over a real cop and it backfired. He literally IS Jeremy and been impersonating for years. Its really crazy when you realize he didn't hate jeremy, he actually idolized the guy.

    Same roads 67-68 but better bridges. No gun trucks only Cav and MP escorts. Procurred a V-100 but after a few trips had to return it to owner. Those above worried what would happen if it got damaged

    Hello, sir- thanks for posting the video. According to his DD 214, my dad was in Vietnam with the 670th from Jan 70-Mar 71. He had lots of pics, and even bought a video camera over there and brought home a few movies like yours. Unfortunately, they've been lost over the years, but I do remember he drove a truck named "Gayla," after his girlfriend back home. It's so poignant to see his teammates and the area in which he served. Thanks again!

      Jack I was the wrecker operator for the 670th from 1967-1968 (18 months ), then back again 1970-1971 with the 25th , last but not least 1971-1972 with MACV. They would not let me extend. My name is Fernando Rondon, I was a Sp5 and was called PR ( from PR) by all. Retired as an E7 in 1984 and living happily in Germany since. Is that my old wrecker in the picture Or did they get a replacement? Forgot, I put the hard top on it, top warning light, mud flaps, welded a top on the right rear top box and put two UH1 Pilot seats in it. Turned over to another E5 who had a damaged eye. Was it still the same when you got it? Only thing that was repaired was a new engine. Had her for that time, many miles, lot of recovering and long hours with repairing and lifting prior to return back home. Miss the great times with a very professional drivers and mechanics!

    • @jackstotts9071
      @jackstotts9071 3 роки тому

      @@fernandorondon4004 Yes it still had all those add ons, seats, hard top, etc. I did have to change the boom tank while I had it. The guy I replaced was there a short time after you and I think he did have a bad eye and a couple other things going on in his life. He did give me some quick training. I put a lot of miles on that wrecker, and was proud to operate it. Was an amazing time with a lot of excitement on those convoys.

    • @fernandorondon4004
      @fernandorondon4004 3 роки тому

      @@jackstotts9071 the boom tank popped some of the rivets out on the first run to Phan Thiet. When we got there I brass welded it to make it home, never leaked again. The guy that you got it from without a good eye, lost it when he fell of the wrecker drunk taking him back to the hooch. I only replace the engine on it and the rear springs. Never broke any of the cables and shear pins. The old lady had more convoy duties than the new one from the 442 Trans. She would pull and keep up with the convoy pulling a loaded tanker. We did a lot of pulling, lifting and winching. Had to use a 5 part line once. Some times I though that I was the only wrecker there. I hope that when you got it she was still in good shape. Take care Brother! V/R SFC Retired Fernando Rondon
