Weighing my Carbon V4R Race-bike : Shocking Weight Reduction
BEFORE YOU GUYS WATCH, take a guess down below in the comments how light you think this thing is. Bike is running with fuel levels at a fuel light amount, maybe a gallon at most.
Well guys I sure hope the scales were right cuz this bike has no right to be this dang light. I could tell moving it around it was pretty dang light but no way did I think it would be this insane.
My first time I took it out I could really tell I wasn't pushing the bike anymore at my previous PR pace from last year. In my mind I didn't translate to the reason being it was so much lighter than it was before. I could just tell the bike was begging for more at every moment. More so than my skills as a rider can deliver at this very moment lol. I'll blame the long winter.
I'll have to make an entire build video on this bike and what's been done to the bikes soon, but for now a huge thanks to Ilmberger Carbon who donated 12 lbs to my weight loss journey on the V4R's. All I gotta say is skip the diet and just buy carbon....

FINALLY we got out and did some riding this year guys This was my first time using launch control on the V4R and all I've gotta say is it shouldn't be that easy to do 0-60 pulls in 3.05 seconds on a super bike with 240 horsepower. All thanks to Ducati's electronics cuz there's no way I'm remotely that good of a rider to pull that out of nowhere. I'll have to report back on how fast this trashes...

my fully modded, still street legal 2023 V4S with lights and mirrors and license plate, wet fully fuelled, weighs 424.6 lb. Still has stock forged al wheels, no carbon fibre parts. and I used 3 scales to do the weight.
I just weighed my fully modded V4S and it came out to be 427lb. full tank of gas, full exhaust (-5kg), 520 conversion kit (I did not weigh mine but google says -1kg), and other stuff. granted I did it alone on probably not perfectly even ground, no help, compare to Ducati published wet no fuel weight + full fuel + mods, calculated weight is 432 lb. 5lb difference, decent.

This method is totally flawed because lifting 1 end up puts more weight on the other end (that's not on the scale).
For an almost Engineer/Commercial Airline Pilot I say "Oh come on dude." Do it again with 3 scales using a kickstand (you can subtract the kickstand weight later) because those numbers never settled. If you want to be accurate. I'm sure it's light as fuck but lighter than a Superleggera? Doubtful.

The rear subframe loses a reasonable amount of weight as well but surely it can’t be that light?
Idk I’m caustically optimistic about it as well but I’ll make a whole build video going over all the components and weight loss. Bodywork (no tail) alone was 11 lbs and the exhaust is over 13 lbs. that’s just two mods and 24 lbs. It FEELS like a feather it really does
I’ve got the same bodywork and it’s a lot lighter - no sound deadening helps. Same exhaust and it saves a lot. Some more on lights. Mag wheels on mine. It’s certainly light though. Pierobon rear subframe arriving this week.

@@jieevo I believe the difference, other than price, is that the Superbike one is either for the RS or you need their seat unit, tail, etc, whereas the STK one works with stock parts.

My R arrives this Friday. Can't wait :D If you've ridden them back to back can you feel a difference between the mag and aluminum wheels? I also had to trim the carbon belly pan of the 4 Uscite exhaust on the V4S. It doesn't fit with the Gilles Tooling rear sets.
I for sure can. The stock wheels to mags translates to 2.5 lbs and you can def tell a difference in the handling on track. If I was you what I would do is get the Marchesini 10 spokes not the 9 spokes from Ducati. They are another 0.8 lbs lighter and cheaper. I'm going to be getting either those down soon or the OZ racing magnesium wheels that are also lighter then the marchesini 9 spokes by 0.9 lbs

The stud just runs through the fairings and you tighten the nut on the back side, fairing has to be off

ilmberger was always the most expensive carbon even back in the days more expensive than MS production
They're the best as far as I know. I've tried a lot of carbon brands and Ilmberger is head and shoulders above the competition.

No clue, check out Ilmberger online and maybe they make one. That or an entire one piece street belly pan I believe they make

The gear shift issue is common, the shift rod bracket also hits the swing-arm when you ride em hard 🙉💲
What are you going to do with the GPS if you get the carbon tail? Do you get access to the inside of the one-piece tail from Ilmberger? I’m going to fit some AiM stuff but there’s not much space on the bike to store additional electronics… 🙄
Not sure yet honestly. I need to get an AIM so bad but I don't have it yet. Maybe I'll do that before the carbon tail
I did the same on my R. There was a bit of adjustment needed on one or two of the holes for the bellypan and a couple of bits where the upper fairing joints to the front fairing needed a bit of persuasion to line up. Great quality though. I did think everything would line up perfectly as it’s from Ilmberger but that wasn’t the case, although it was only 3 or 4 bits and the rest was fine.
Hey, i have a few questions. Those fake lights also fit 2024 V4's? There is a plug for the rear, but is there also one for the headlight or is this just a unplug it thing (no errors)? Also... what lower belly pan extensions to go with when having a high mount exhaust?

First turn, at that lean you should have been at neutral throttle bc you didn't start standing the bike up. Also, at that angle, your body is with the bike rather than pushing it up and away from you, keeping the bike upright as much as possible and your body as low as possible. Also, you missed that firat apex by a mils, you didn't front brake to the apex as you were already slowed WAY down brfore the turn, which is why you got on throttle before apex which is dangerous. Bad habit's and not knowing how to ride caused you to go down. WHERE ARE YOUR RIGHT FINGERS AND WHY ARE THEY NOT FRONT BRAKING?!?!?! WHO LET YOU ON THE TRACK HOMIE?! Maybe we missed it but i never saw your right hand on the front brakes at all... Turn off engine braking and get on your front brake instead. Also sign up for and take Yamaha Champ Riding School. Best experience of my life. I'm a way better rider and can romp around a track safely = fast. You can take their online core course for $89. That bike and you didn’t need to go down...i feel bad for her 😢 Take yamaha champ school....you're welcome buddy, good luck next time!!!

Looks like your tires were on the rumble strip at lean and just doesn't have the proper grip like your track does.
I’ve ran over the curb there a ton it had rained though just before so it was nice and slick

What would you recommend for a newer rider getting his first big bike. Not going to be track driven, just something sexy. Will the electronic suspension make a bigger deal on the street? Or would you go for the base V4 even more. I guess I'm just wondering what true value the electronic suspension gives.
