Hey mate, that was us using the customer's compressed air. In the food industry, most of the time using the customer's existing air-line is more than enough to run our equipment properly as you can see in this video. Cheers.

Hi Kgotso, this was pure dry ice cleaning on gas turbines, but if you need to clean steam turbines in that scenario you do need to mix dry ice with an abrasive media because the steam turbine build-up is quite difficult to remove using just dry ice. I hope the above helps you. Cheers.

Hi Futbar, what happened did you have any issues? which dry ice blasting model you were using?

@@ColdJetAustraliaPty No issues, used two separate models, dont know them off the top of my head. One newer one with digital display, one with analog controls. I think the issues came to engineering not knowing what PSI they wanted/needed to use on the equipment. Stator iron, they didn’t want to damage old paint(even though the unit was painted with red gliptal for insulation after we cleaned it). Also, end winding insulation was very fragile due to 10 years of heat cycling, and would occasionally strip insulating paint and varnish at as low as 30psi. No issues with equipment itself, I think just lack of understanding of how to implement it effectively.

I can confirm in that application we are using the Cold Jet Aero 40FP and one of our fragmenting nozzles or to be specific that nozzle is the 323V2. Hi Meatello, you do need to hook it to a compressor. Depending on the model you will need a bigger or smaller compressor. The airflow requirements start at 30cfm and go all the way up to 250cfm. On projects similar to this one we have used the following parameters: Blasting Pressure: 90 Psi Dry Ice consumption: 5lbs/min Abrasive consumption: 2.2lbs/min Dry Ice Particle size: 3mm

Cold Jet Aero 40FP

Dry Ice particle size is between 0.5 to 0.7mm. Blasting pressure between 100psi to 120 psi. Flat nozzles and 45 angled nozzles.

How to figure how much ice is required for industrial job such as this or printing press, etc.. Is there a calculation behind it?
