The medusa Euphorbias will grow new branches, but takes a while to grow a new top full of branches, leaving it kinda bare for a while. So I try not to let them dry down that far. So I give them a little water during the winter. If I think it's going to get too cold on them I will move them closer to the heat source or bring them in the house to see them through the cold. Yes, at 12:00am tomorrow morning our snow storm will start, continuing till 9:00pm tomorrow night. I hope it's the last!! Thanks for watching!!! And your great question! @ thanks it was in my greenhouse and I moved it to the grow tent indoors and it lost all the long branches but they are still on the head of it I guess they grow and get longer

I believe they will !! The pinacola and the Opuntia aurea I think are fine. I didn't trust the Santa Rita. It's took about 18°F ok. But I wasn't sure about single digits and ice so I brought them in. Yes, feel sad about Los Angeles County. Used to hike places like Eaton canyon and Chantry flats in those San Gabriel mountains. All this is only a few miles away from where I lived!! 😪 our snow and ice is melting!! Monday will be cold. Only in the 20sF. But after that we warm up for the week!! Getting almost 40°F!! Thanks Daz. I tried to go to work early yesterday. Only got a little over a mile away. Ended up in a church driveway. Couldn't even get up the driveway all the way. Waited till daylight and went back towards home. Very scary, truck was drifting a bit cause of the pitch of the road. But made it. Saw one in a deep ditch on the way back. Got 5 inches of snow. Good news is after Monday, it's supposed to warm up to around 40°F after that!! Thank goodness!!! Guess I can't feel too bad, when I see my old home in Los Angeles burning down. It's burning less than5 miles from the house I lived in. The LA county arboretum is a couple of miles up Baldwin Ave. I've read from the high winds and debris it has damaged many of the large trees. I have to say, make me feel a bit sad. I used to go to the san Gabriel mountains alot and hike around. It's all burning now.😪 Thanks for watching Daz!!! Oh yes, if it gets into the teens, we always keep the water ant a slight trickle. The only place it's ever frozen is our well house. But it has to get single digits. We keep a 250 watt infrared lamp on in it. Whenever it's frozen in the past, we just put a space heater in the well house and within 20 minutes it thaws. Thanks for watching!!! We have been in the 20sF & teens since the ice storm. Blew the cv joints in my 4x4 truck on the way home from work ( I live 34 miles away) luckily I made it to a service station that I'm familiar with working on my vehicles. It was at night. One was totally broken. Luckily made it that far. It's in the shop now. This super cold weather really tears up things when it's super cold. We are getting 3- 5 inches of snow starting tonight through tomorrow. I am really done with all this terrible weather. But I guess I can't feel too bad. My old home in Los Angeles is burning down, the San Gabriel mountains and surrounding areas have wiped out a good chunk of the area. Very sad to see my old home like this. All that chaparral country is burning 🔥. My heart goes out to them. Seems there is always something worse than what we have.😪 Thanks for watching Daz!!! Yeah we were lucky!! In 2007 we lost power for six days!! Had to run a generator. Blew one up . Then had to run to Lebanon to get another. Can't feel bad this time. After I got mine, it went into a slump. Don't know why. Branches dry rotted ( turned yellow and dried up) took about a year and then out of nowhere, it started to turn green and grow!! Hasn't been a problem since ! Normal Euphorbia care. Well drained soil and feed once a month with half strength tomato fertilizer during spring and summer. Easy otherwise, Don't know why it was sick for a while. I've got to feel lucky though. My old home Los Angeles is burning 🔥!!! Feel sad for all the people there. Thanks for watching Gary!!! Yes, at least it wasn't too expensive to fix. Has worked really well. Yes , I think 46 is about the lowest it has gotten inside during this. Yesterday, the sun came out and with the propane stove got to 80!!! During the day I saw on my camera while I was at work. I've tried to keep it at around 50 mostly. Thanks Lyn!!! Yes the propane stove has done well this year after the fix. That regulator was over 30 years old from my first greenhouse. Seems if something goes wrong it's during the extreme cold @! Had another thing happen the other night. Drove my 4x4 truck to work the other night cause of icy roads. Blew the cv joints, one to pieces. ( this is what drives the front wheels when in four wheel drive) drove over 20 miles till I got to a service center on the way home made it there where Deb picked me up. It was night. Still had 14 miles to go to get home. Broke one to pieces!! Left it there till next morning when I threw the keys in it. And called them an hour later. Good thing I hav an 2 wheel drive to use. Getting fixed now. Can't feel too bad about all this xold weather. My old home , Los Angeles, is burning 🔥!! A huge area of it!!! Very 😔 Guess out problems here aren't too bad . Well Bill, roof is fine, got snow last night, heat helps melt the snow and ice. Big O and the other two actually have a heated cat house. And he has a thick fur coat of his own. The cat house has a 250 watt infrared bulb in it which keeps them warm. The other two have less fur. Jinx and Twiggy have less fur, but trying to put a coat on them is like, well, putting a coat on a wild cat!!! Jinx especially !! We can barely even pet her!! All three were originally strays we gave shelter to after we caught them and had them spayed and neutered. We give them food and shelter. And they freak out if brought in the house trying to get back out.so best we can do is the heated cat house. On the other hand my problem now is the backup propane heater is not working. Went out to light it last night. Wouldn't light. Went to check the bottle and connections and smelled gas. After a soap check, found that the regulator has a leak in a seam. Connections are fine. Checked all this back in the falll and was fine. So don't know when it went bad. Stove worked fine and no leaks then. Now it does.DRATS!!! if I can get out later I will try to get a new regulator and get it going, hopefully. And I hope a bunch didn't leak out. Thanks for watching Bill!!! Thanks Ana!!! Yes, I've always heard the uebelmannia have very sensitive roots. I've never had one on its own roots. I know grafting I frowned on by many. But some plants if you want to keep them its almost necessary. Yes, as they say, were not outta the woods yet. Went out late last night to light the backup propane heater. It wouldn't light. So went to check the propane tank and smelled gas!!! Did a soap check ( mixing dish soap and a little bit of water, it bubbles when poured on connections) and found it was leaking from a seam on the regulator. Now back in the fall when I installed it , it was fine, in working order. It worked, no leaks , heater worked also. So I am going to have to try and get out later and get a new regulator. Before tonight when it gets down to single digits. Over night it snowed on top of the ice ❄. I'm hoping the roads will be clear a little later today to be able to. Looks like it's supposed to be partly cloudy. If we could get some sun it would help the greenhouse a bunch!! Not going to work today. I have a long way to drive to get there on curvey roads, so mot going that far. We will make it something work one way or another! Backup heater or not! I will always try my hardest and best!! Like confirm mothers name. But I thank you so very much!!!!! She is our world. Growing up we all went through so much rough road together when my sister and I were kids in the 70s . We were very poor and even had to be split up at one point. I am so grateful to have another chance for more time together. At the risk of sounding selfish, there won't ever be enough!
