SNATCH EMOM follow along - Coach Karen Smith

The Kettlebell Snatch is an advanced skill that takes time to master. Make sure to learn and perfect the 1Hand swing before moving on to the snatch. The drive with both the swing and snatch comes from the hip hinge and then the arms guides to the finish. The swing finishes at the float about chest height, where the snatch stays closer to the body and flows to the high pull position and this is ...

    § 8. Respect for flag (b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise. (d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. So disrespectful for those who have served and died for it. Better to be a flag burner, at least they're doing it on purpose and not ignorance or callous disregard

    Bought this for my youngest to develop basic form for single hand kettlebell work. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxtaDAl93XF8wxJhssTtjIFjzid82wglva It has a nice grip on it, just a little rough so it isn't slippery. I was doing a few rotator cuff exercises to test and worked well for those movements I'd been doing with a regular dumbbell. Cool thing you can do is hold it in your hand for door-knob turns to work the forearm and grip. Note: it's small, almost all handle, but that's what I expected given the weight. Smallest I've worked with before is 15lbs, so it was kind of funny to see the difference 10lbs makes.

    I’m constantly watching videos on kettle bells trying to get better. Your videos are short and concise and teach more in four minutes then some half hour to 45 minute videos teach they talk about a lot of nothing that has nothing to do with what we’re doing and waste my time you’re efficient you’re an excellent teacher, and there’s some of the best videos I’ve seen on kettle bells. Thank you so much.

    She's back! great stuff, the only thing missing is that big ol' 'Merican flag in the background. Would you consider making a video on sledgehammer work? odd question but the only videos on it I can find are from juiced up gym bros, I need a StrongFirst take on it.

      Hi Thank you - Yeah been a minute. So many social media avenues that I sometimes forget about uploading until I get a request that is needing to be longer than IG reels. The flag is still there just inside today due to the cold snow storm we got in Dallas. As for Sledgehammer, I personally do not have one. However, I will see what I can do because I just started doing some volunteer work at a Adaptive Athlete facility and they do have sledgehammers. I will keep you posted.

    Just a quick advise for the future. Befor you starting to explain a move you should do a few reps at the beginning. So the Viewer would have seen a corect execution of the move and can afterwards listen to you explanation of the move. Thats how we always thought our recruits in the military new stuff and this is a good method. But almost no youtuber do this that way.

    Did I miss something? didnt she say she was going to tell us why it was a lifesaver? Is it because people will fall over at some point in their life and knowing how to get up is useful?

    • @Coachkarensmith
      @Coachkarensmith 2 роки тому

      If people train to get off the ground with heavier loads then as we age we have less chance of falling and not being able to get up. I train all ages and it is helpful for elderly to be able to get up and at a minimum be able to crawl to a phone if they need help. It is a skill that we should all practice and be really strong at for life. What if something falls on you and you need extra strength to push it off you and get up. So yes I think it can be a lifesaver in some instances.

    • @Coachkarensmith
      @Coachkarensmith 2 роки тому

      @@pepperpeterpiperpickled9805 honestly it really depends on the health of your shoulders, your mobility/Stability and the weight you are using. But for most 5 would be fine to do daily. If you have restrictions in mobility for overhead lockout then just do partials up to the seated or 1/2 kneeling position and then back down.
