Приєднався 3 чер 2019
Drive On Podcast is committed to connecting with current and prior service members and civilians to discuss and share the ups and downs of military life, transitioning to civilian life, and everything in between. You'll hear interviews with service providers who offer services to veterans that can help get them through an issue where traditional therapies fall short. You'll also hear from veterans who have been in a dark place of their own and brought themselves back up. The goal of sharing these stories is to make sure that no veteran feels like they are alone in this, while giving hope and strength to the military community.

Stuck in habitual sin, fighting it
Thank you so much, Scott, for the opportunity to tell the Pin-Ups For Vets story!
She's not a great person, neither is Dr. Caitlin Thompson.
Love this interview with Jennifer!
Good podcast
salute to veterans
Thank you for discussing this topic! Very important.
I'm really happy you found this topic useful!
@@LauraReid-n6c welcome dear
The based on truth movie "Taking Chance" might interest those watching this.
This was wonderful, thank you.
It feels important to acknowledge that a 10/10 reaction about a bike, while completely over the top, isn’t coming from a rational place within the person. They would not be able to “get a grip”. Having c-ptsd myself (due to my mother’s own issues being taken out on me as a child) I can easily experience a 10/10 knee jerk reaction within myself even now when my amygdala goes into overdrive at something that needn’t be a threat, or at least could put it into better perspective, just like Ruth’s dad’s short fuse due to his trauma.
Thank you for sharing.
So,......... How does a veteran get involved with SailAhead? Or did i miss that part?

Dr.Jennifer is amazing!!! Get her book absolutely! I am gifting it to fellow colleagues.....
Karl, absolutely loved hearing all the stories about Tre growing up and what a great young man he was even long before I ever had the pleasure of meeting him. He will always be in my wife's and my heart, and we'll never forget the young hero I had the honor of serving with. God bless.
@rickgrecula4359, thanks for sharing your thoughts, and thank you for your service.
WOW! I went through the medical board and I totally get it. Thanks again.
I can totally relate to this. In short, I wonder why the military may misdiagnose some mental health conditions as Adjustment disorder, only to leave it to the VA to diagnose another condition, say PTSD perhaps. Thank you and your guest for shedding light on this topic. Strong Work !
What a great interview! I really enjoyed understanding more about the appeals process. One of the key points that I took away was we have to "Connect the dots" for the VA. As a retired Army Nurse, who went through the BDD and then a Medical Evaluation Board, I agree 100 percent with you and your guest. Sadly, however, in some of my conversations with service members and veterans, I often hear that" connecting the dots requires too much work. Besides, isn't that what the VA is supposed to do?" What advice would you give to help change that perspective? Thank you for leading from the front on the topic of the appeals and 22 a day.
So great to be on the Drive On podcast with Scott DeLuzio. He's a super host! Really enjoyed this conversation.
Love this thank you
There was a decorated General with a heart of gold That likened him to all the stories he told Of past battles won and lost And legends of old A seasoned veteran in his own time On the battlefield he gained respectful fame With many medals of bravery and stripes to his name He grew a beard as soon as he could to cover the scars on his face And always urged his men on But on the eve of a great battle with the infantry in dream The Old General tossed in his sleep and wrestled with its meaning He awoke from the night to tell what he had seen And walked slowly out of his tent All the men held tall with their chests in the air With the courage in their blood and a fire in their stare And it was a gray morning and they all wondered how they would fare Till the old general told them to go home He said, "I have seen the others And I have discovered That this fight is not worth fighting And I've seen their mothers And I will no other to follow me where I'm going So Take a shower and shine your shoes You got no time to lose You are young men you must be living Take a shower and shine your shoes You got no time to lose You are young men you must be living Go now you are forgiven"
Thanks again for having me on the podcast, Scott! Glad to be working in this space with you to improve veteran mental health
