Box pattern or "Stockton Sparring" is an excellent "counter for counter" drill.

Is that the semangat baru symbol
Awful technique with that clinch. Nobody would stay in that clinch in a fight.
👊🔥🔥💥🔪 bahala na
🤦
Looks more like a dance than anything
@EndtyrannyFJB this is a drill. So it's kinda dance like since it is a cooperative drill. There are many variations to striking drills. This one is good for developing timing and distance and other attributes.
Smooth

Woooow brooooo yes
Good morning Guru from the 918..have a blessed and productive Thursday 🙏
🤔🤔
Cob Cob looks strange. The point is to learn to hit hard using body mechanics vs. using just the arm. This is especially important for a heavy weapon.
HE'S TOO FAT TO BE EFFECTIVE
Good thing people fight in slo-mo these days !
Do you think you're watching a fight?
No I thought I was watching a slow motion joke !@@CombativesAcademy
I agree, it’s a good thing you’re slow. Otherwise you’d understand what he’s saying and that it’s a demo.
He has seen better days.
Looks a bit like Wing Chun
It looks similar to some aspects of Wing Chun but this system of Silat has no connection with Wing Chun or borrowed any ideas from Wing Chun. The blocking skill is called Killet.
@@CombativesAcademy Gotcha
Useful if you have to fight at the buffe.
We like how you clearly spelled out the value of learning Silat.
I’ve seen his older videos where he’s throwing guys as big as him around like a rag doll. It’s cool seeing how refined he’s become over the last 30 years not needing to exert any strength. Guru Dan Huybrechts is a hidden gem to the martial arts world for sure.
To me, nothing says "combatives" more than training on concrete.
You have to keep it real
Why would you listen to anyone who can't even control their own body mass?
No one is required to listen to anything. The art is being demonstrated for people interested in Silat. if you can do better we would love to learn from you.
Probably the same reason why anyone would listen to someone with a pacemaker about health and fitness-which is a good benchmark-but not the main reason people learn martial arts. Leveraging an attacker despite fitness or health limitations is a better benchmark in my opinion. Of course, you can always prove the old fat guys wrong by going to their class. Just be sure to bring spare batteries for your pacemaker.
Thank you. I believe I hurt your feelings, allow me to apologize sometimes being a grumpy old man I think my excuse to a asshole. I do pray for self control, sometimes I fail. Please I apologize. If your interested I have food prep videos on my channel. I really do apologize, my friends say smoke weed.
I don't agree with his style. it's easy to do what he did when somebody is a foot-and-a-half shorter than you are and you weigh about 260 lb. Don't be fooled by the garbage.
Thank you for your thoughtful remarks and your deep knowledge of martial arts.
Tell me you've never trained silat without telling me you've never trained silat 😂😂😂🤦🏿♂️
Masterful. Nothing beats the understanding of leverage, positioning and biomechanics in combat than Silat
🙏 thank you
Not bad! Be careful slipping inside to rear hand. Facing all your opponents weapons very dangerous. Bruce liked to flank. Avoiding all weapons…if possible
Thats whats up guys
Hook cross hook
Wrap your hands no matter what
Clean 🙌
silat is the art of fighting technical , all steps very dangerous
Great video on the principles of kuno silat....we want more videos on the topic. Thank you
Good job, keep those knees high before kicking... dont kick with the leg, kick wth your body thru the leg.. sink the hip in more... ossu!
Wow, what you gonna do when u get shot in the face. Duck and block that. Wake up everyone your about to see that what’s in your hand is a privilege and it’s not black or white. Everything is just a distraction from reality! Jesus is king and everything else is and wil be vanquished! No debate !
needs to keep his guard up. immediately return to guard . I know he's beginning but what you practice you'll learn. even if it's negative
Her
Id have a spar with ya
Oof
Cleannnnn
TELL CANELO TO STOP DUCKIN YOU ALREADYYY!!!!!!!!
Jesus christ.... dude get tf out of there. That guy is not helping you. Thats one of the worst forms ive ever seen
Lower your foot to ground as fast as you kick don't get into habit of lazily lowering foot after impact.
The kick should on the floor as fast as the initial kick ready for the punch.❤
Practice footwork. Push shuffle, pendulum forwards and backwards. 🎉
Feet form triangle with target centerline. Keep your base strong with heels out. Will reduce the falling/hopping. ❤
Practice reseting back to fighting stance not getting sloppy after hook the fight may not be over. Love watching these drills. Keep it up many levels to this artform.
Hands before feet. Thats when the power comes.
Slip to that side you’ll get KO’d
Slipping on the inside is inherently dangerous. However, it is possible especially with footwork and a counter punch.
Slipping to wrong side..
Inside slips are dangerous but they are possible.
block then punch. not block and punch at the same time. you'll be sorry
It does take more skill to defend and counter at the same time. It is possible to defend then counter, defend and counter at the same time, and counter and defend anything that might come through.
That footwork off tho.why they sliding ?🤦🏽
Understand that they are students learning and practicing.
Good stuff. Hope they keep at it
Telegraphed
I was just wondering, why not left, right then left elbow?
Good question. We use that exact combination of elbows, left - right - left. Or, right - left- right elbows. Combinations can be done with just one tool such as an elbow, or multiple tools such as punching and elbows together. It just depends on the drill.
That was a good elbow he turned the leg which adds so much power to it, keep up the good work bro.
